2021 Chevy Blazer Enjoys Pony-Car Inspired Presence, Crisp and Responsive Ride

What the brand-new 2021 Blazer arrived as after an extended absence was an exciting crossover that is savvy, trustworthy, and amazingly useful for daily driving's demands. It is now available for a test drive here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse brandishing its likable personality, standard crossover SUV chops, and bodes well for the weekend warrior needing to temporarily breathe and escape. The top-of-the-line RS AWD sees sourced power from a 3.5-V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

This timely revival of an off-road-ready legend that now is in a modern package with a choice of front or all-wheel drive and three engines is in stiff and constant competition with the Honda Passport, Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Nissan Murano. The RS is the only model that comes offering the twin-clutch AWD option, and the Redmond Reporter's testing team averaged around 26 mpg highway, 19 mpg city, and 21 mpg combined. A few of the awesome exterior features that their model also featured were a fitting silver ice metallic enamel coat, 20-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels, power heated side mirrors, and a hands-free power liftgate.

Once inside you'll find heated front and rear sideboard seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone air-conditioned climate control, and a 120-volt power outlet. One of the newer Chevy features that makes a difference for the driver and passengers alike is active noise cancellation, as the need to focus on important studying or just to decompress during the drive is fulfilled. You can fold the rear seats flat, which makes for a large cargo area ample enough for a quarantine-sized grocery haul and beyond.

Coming as standard equipment on the new Blazer model are 8-inch touchscreen and voice recognition, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, remote vehicle start, and rear seat reminder. Also available is Sirius XM, OnStar service, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Don't forget to check out the Convenience Package: it offers up Bose premium audio with 8 speakers, ventilated driver and front passenger seats, power tilt and telescopic steering column, and heated rear outboard seats.

A trim such as the spectacular RS level also pairs perfectly with the confidence package, which adds a rear view mirror camera, wireless cell phone charging, adaptive cruise control, LED headlamps, HD surround vision, and enhanced automated emergency braking. Topping the range for engine types is the 3.6-liter V6, which is paired with the 9-speed transmission and front or all-wheel drive. This engine has a towing rating of up to 4,500 lbs, and making the switch to Sport Mode moves power across the rear axle and offers the most fun during the drive. One of our 2021 offerings that is fit for any driver embracing their youthful side or a muscle car lover that is looking to tone appropriately down, the Blazer remains as versatile and able as ever!

2021 Chevy Suburban Dominates With Large Dimensions, True-Value V8 Power Fit For Any Trial

One of the longest-running names in the US Market, the Chevy Suburban, has been redesigned for 2021, and the upgraded vehicle clearly dominates in its category, especially when it comes to roominess. With class-leading cargo volume, the 2021 Chevy Suburban can accommodate a lot, and is the perfect choice for large families looking for more space. Not only that, but it boasts a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 alongside a highly juiced 6.2-liter V8, both with an abundance of power at any speed and placement.

The Cars.com staff tested the brand-new model and deemed the air springs along with the Magnetic Ride Shocks fantastic when it came to smoothness and harshness encountered during the ride. The brakes on the brand-new Suburban incorporate a by-wire system that uses an electric motor and are superior to older conventional types. While you are counting mile markers and enjoying everything the larger size of SUV comfort offers, safety features always make one feel as if they are in capable hands. The commanding and capable Suburban boasts a backup camera, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, and forward collision warning to assist with the helping hand of modern technology in this hard-working and class-leading staple.

The High Country and Premier trims both add the Enhanced Delay and Alert Package, which adds a 360-degree camera system, a full-time camera mirror with a dedicated washer, rear pedestrian alert, and a head-up display with class-leading pedestrian detection. Providing the best for drivers who tend to pack heavy is one of the Suburban's specialties, as anyone from accomplished golfers and busy contractors alike is going to find the new Suburban perfect for their ongoing spatial requirements.

There is an additional 2.2 cubic feet of volume behind the completely redesigned SUV's third row, and an extra 23 cubic feet when every seat is folded, seeing it roar into the finish line concerning the competition boasting a top-of-the-segment 144.7 cubic feet. The Premier and High Country trim levels are make long journeys instantly easier with massive comfort offerings, as well as the practical touch of being able to power-lower and raise the third row and collapse the second-row captain's chairs with buttons in the overhead console and liftgate.

When you're driving a vehicle that can haul this much, there are many uses for storage compartments that are out of any intruder's first line of sight. The power-sliding center console can be moved back 10 inches by pressing a rocker switch in the overhead console, which then opens up to an ideal flat surface good for valuable carry-on such as purses. One of the best reasons we can think of to choose a Suburban after a test-drive here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse in Linn, Missouri is its 7,800-lb+ towing capacity, coupled with features such as side blind zone alert for the trailer and an App in the touchscreen that allows for full control and viewing of anything you're currently hauling. We invite you to schedule a test drive today and try it for yourself!

Pressroom Screening Gem: “Revolution” Development Story Chronicles Mid-Engined Corvette's Development From Drawing Board to the Demanding Track

Just before the Christmas holiday this year Chevrolet released the second part of their video adaption that tells the exciting story of the new Corvette's in-depth development. The defining process of developing a supercar that provides the best in handling and high-octane enjoyment both on and off the track was told in great detail and then released to the public for viewing on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. Expectation levels among us right here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse were high regarding the C8, and this richly-layered story speaks volumes about living up to where the bar was set for engineers years ago.

“From grocery-getting to grand touring”, the need for this specific Corvette to bode well in all driving categories was laid out from the beginning. Part of this video's immediate charm is its footage taken of the famed Nurburgring track, and Autonomous and Electrical Vehicle Engineering VP Ken Morris does a great job describing in detail how the track's 15 corners require the car to be dialed in properly with no detail overlooked. Former Corvette racer Oliver Gavin claimed that this world-class team is truly the “chosen ones” as far as the gifted individuals that push the car's limits here and on the Autobahn.

The crew highlights how prior generations of Corvettes had reached a plateau of sorts that demanded new development methods beginning with the different engine location. They immediately noticed a difference in handling during the challenge of navigating around the track, and the weight in the rear provided a drastic change in rapid steering translation and center of gravity movement. During a beautifully-executed shot of the car taking a corner, one of the head engineers conveys just how different the sensations of driving at breakneck speeds are with more torque sent immediately to the ground.

With the new mid-engined model boasting a balance of 60/40, placement in the corners is not just a wild-haired daredevil's game but offers a whole new focal point with you as the driver as the center. Everything the driver experiences feels toughened and affected with this new design incorporation, and a few of the modeling directors made great points when they claimed avidly that “you can't just move one thing without many more parts being affected”.

It was also stressed here that this was one of the most collectively powerful groups that has ever been involved in the development of a GM vehicle, and many expert sights were set on fine-tuning the razor-sharp edge of the performance envelope. We can't express enough our appreciation for the diligent time engineers spent creating and testing a world-class sportscar, and teaming up to embrace the “single chance you have to do it right”.

Chevy Silverado In-Depth Engine Engagement: Exploring Powertrain Options For the World's Most Capable Truck

While you are looking over the various specs and options for an engine, it's natural for many different thoughts to cross your mind, as this is what you will be situated with as you enjoy your new vehicle's performance. Will it be strong enough? Can it posses the ability to tow and off-road well? As you sit with your laptop or tablet on the table in front of you building the ultimate rig, which one will best meet your needs?

We frequently come across customers who are comparing engine types here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, and since we already know that the Chevy Silverado boasts about everything anyone would want in a new truck, this is a likely virtual spot for them to hover over. The turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four L2B and the naturally-aspirated 4.3-Liter V6 LV3 both come at about the same price and are worth a closer look to properly make your decision. The 4.3-liter V6 L3 is the older sibling in the mix, making its debut in the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500. This integral member of the fifth-generation Small Block Family uses two overhead valves per cylinder that are operated by a single central camshaft.

The 2.7-liter I4 L3B was introduced in the 2019 Silverado 1500 and 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and boasts modern qualities. There are four valves per cylinder, and they are operated more directly than in the V6 by putting to use double overhead camshafts. This results in drastically less turbo lag and can be a great help as you reach much thinner air space while driving in high-altitude and mountainous terrain. Both of these Silverado engines feature Active Fuel Management and contentiously variable valve timing, seeing to it that cylinders not needed for smaller-power stints are shut off for conservation.

The 2.7-liter I4 L3B also has variable valve lift, which allows torque peak production from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. Since this inline-four is lighter than the 4.3-liter V6 LB3, it gives it an advantage off the bat for this showdown between the two. What also finishes as surprising in the toss-up between the two is that the four-cylinder offers more horsepower by 9 percent, torque by 14 percent, and fuel economy up 25 percent. It can even get to that all-important 60 mph mark 1 second faster while offering up 22 percent more in the maximum towing category.

V6 engines are traditionally tough and ripe with power, and we encourage you to check out every single great model here that boasts one under the hood! But in this particular face-off, the 2.7-liter four-cylinder happens to possess the might and muster to nail down positive readings on the virtual scoreboard. Standard features include 12 cargo bed tie-downs, a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and the Teen Driving monitoring system.
