Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse when we are maintaining our inventory flow, catching up on daily tasks, and preparing to give our customers the best in service and satisfaction, we can’t help but notice just how truck-crazy everyone is! The 2022 Chevy Colorado has been the topic of many conversations lately as its perfect size and stature allow for the most fun day running your rig hard that you could ever imagine! The third generation 2023 Chevy Colorado is coming soon, and GM Authority already spied a few prototypes roaming in their favorite element of the wild.
These well-planned snapshots gave us a glimpse of just what the midsize truck is hiding under the typical veil of heavy camouflage, which also had a little bit of a break in the thickness offering up a much better view of the grille. Since the camo is present with more of a wrap style than the standard of bulky vinyl, some of the unknowns regarding what’s underneath are cleared up a bit. A more available glance at the face appears to be the Z71 model, predominantly given away by the recovery hooks seen up front.
Also spotted were Goodyear Wrangler off-road tires, a higher ride height, and design elements that were a bit on the boxier side but still boast the characteristic mid-sized and trademark Colorado swagger. There was also a conspicuous piece of stray tape right over the grille, which could have been in place to hide this test model’s trim level. The grill stealth black finish continues through the rest of this testing model’s body, which is an awesome match with black wheels in black daylight opening surrounds, providing this particular 2023 Chevy Colorado ZL1 and aggressive and perfectly-devious appearance.
Although they're a bit difficult to spot, this test unit also sports a set of incandescent headlight bulbs directly behind the camo, instead of a standard LED unit seen on most other standard Colorado models. The rear view of this Trail Boss or Colorado Z71 doesn’t seem to have the CornerStep bumper at all in plain view, but the production model is supposed to have them as part of the assorted included equipment. The demand for midsize trucks is growing by the day: it’s fantastic to be able to squeeze into parking spots that other models can’t quite hunker down and get comfortable in.
Some of the active safety features available include Blind Zone Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control, and the Colorado will continue to be produced at the bustling GM Wentzville factory right here in Missouri. Opening officially in 1983, this facility covers 3.7 million square feet on 569 acres and boasts a total of 4,561 hardworking and proud employees. Our choice of engine here at the Powerhouse would definitely be the 3.6-liter 6-cylinder, eagerly cranking out 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of hauling-and-climbing ready torque!
