Chevy Brand Leads Innovative Pack in J.D. Power 2022 Tech Experience Study

2022 Chevy Line-Up

Excited Show-me State residents looking to get a brand-new vehicle rely on the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse for information on how the nation's verified experts think Chevy holds up. With just a glance at monthly Internet articles and in-depth reviews, you will find countless awards and accolades that we must celebrate! This Summer, Chevy once again ranked above average for mass-market brands during the recent J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study, which is an in-depth indicator of reliability.

During this study JD power closely surveyed 84,165 owners of this year’s 2022 vehicles after three months of the drivers’ on-the-road experience. Those surveyed were asked to report the types of issues they've experienced with advanced technology features in their car, crossover, SUV, or truck. The “PPV100” score was used to report how their model shaped up against others. Chevy’s “Innovation Ranking” score of 471 was substantially higher than the industry average of 469, and the incoming variety of EV technology options rank among the top five most desired features in the U.S.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV and Blazer EV have both just seen their arrival dates officially confirmed. Also found during the study, was that a smartphone-sourced digital key is among the top three desired advanced vehicle technologies right now. After repeatedly coming in strong with a superior advantage over other brands, there are so many different models to choose from that all offer class-leading warranty coverage, awesome exteriors, and the best engine lineup in existence!

The 2022 Chevy Traverse always finishes with its unique form of take-charge authority armed with its standard V6, seating for 7 or 8, and midsize stature that is usefully on the larger side. This year active safety systems have become standard, as well as the front and rear fascias seeing a thorough refresh. The Traverse fares amazingly well with the current rivals at the heart of the family-SUV market and wins new drivers over every day with its larger size and segment-leading capacity.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado stakes its consistent claim as America’s favorite pickup time and time again, and offers up an extra-long cabin, awesome and easy-to-use touchscreen, and several available engines that all live up to their hype. This year there is a new ZR2 off-road version that just debuted, and the addition of Super Cruise, Chevy’s amazing semi-automated hands-free driving technology. The midrange LT trim is an excellent sweet spot for the lineup, offering up a great balance of affordable price to practical and modern features. This is the rig that snagged the “Best resale value” in the full-size pickup category from KBB.com, solidifying its long-term dependability and clout.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer now has a two-tone roof available on the LT edition and RS trim, as well as a refreshed look on Premier, with new wheels, rockers, and wheel moldings. The Trailering Package now comes standard for 2.0-Liter equipped models, and standard with AWD and FWD. Consumer Reports praised the Blazer this year for being among the “Most reliable midsized Utility Vehicles”, along with a predicted reliability score of four out of five. This year's Blazer’s acceleration, braking, transmission, quiet cabin, and its superior handling all were factors in these outstanding achievements!

2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison Honed to Ultimate Trail Guide with AEV’s Expertise

2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison

The majestic and jaw-dropping scenery at Yellowstone leads to a memorable trip, with photographers, hikers, and over 4 million wilderness enthusiasts worldwide flocking there annually. After being hunted with so much a fervor that it was nearly extinct, the American bison has now been spotted more frequently roaming here, impressing all the park’s occupants with its stability and lay of the land. Here at Mid Missouri Powerhouse, we love our very own common sighting of the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison, and the fact that its own population is about to double in size.

The new Silverado was expertly developed by the off-road specialists at American Expedition Vehicles: These are the ones you can trust with every nook, rut, rock, and boulder that could ever show up in your path. The existing ZR2 already comes locked and loaded with the best brush protection as the five underbody skid plates, rocker-panel protectors, and replacement front and rear stamped-steel bumpers are up for the damaging elements you come across frequently in the wild.

These sturdier bumpers allow for steeper approach and departure angles, and you’re already sailing ideally headstrong with a ground clearance of 11.2 inches. The new Bison also boasts a tweaked body-colored grill bar and a matte-black panel on the Multi-flex tailgate, in addition to custom AEV and Bison badging for the interior and exterior. With this truck there is plenty to be excited about when you are planning a trip to nearby off-road spots here in Missouri such as Flat Nasty off-road park of the Ozarks: here you’ll be greeted with 850+ Acres of rugged land to explore.

All these skid plates and extra protection will definitely get some use at this primo local-area playground, as well as the exclusive 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. While the rivalries fester in the competitive models of the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison’s specific drive mode settings for rock crawling should keep it appropriately ahead and on top of other archrivals. You’ll also be guaranteed to navigate deep enough into the wild to make good use of the recovery points, adding a practical solution if you ever find yourself needing a strong-armed pull.

There are still fairly solid rumors of an upgraded Duramax diesel engine arriving just in time for the 2023 model year, and potentially paired with the delightfully lethal ten-speed automatic transmission. While some firm critics may claim that the ZR2 doesn't have quite enough expert-grade off-road chops to cut it in the extreme wild, examples from AEV Outfitters in the past have absolutely proved otherwise. We’ll keep you posted here on the blog about other developments regarding this off-road beast and wish you all the best during your search for the perfect vehicle right here at the Powerhouse!

2023 Chevy Colorado Combines 3 Trim Levels for Fierce Finished Product

2023 Chevy Colorado

The amount of admiration for trucks is always at a high level here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, where the demanding landscape around us can require a hauling and towing machine that also provides class-leading comfort! When anyone interested in all the great abilities of a truck has wanted to scale down slightly in size, the Chevy Colorado has always filled the gap and offered up tons of fun. The 2023 Chevy Colorado is on track to seek and destroy new terrain with its new revised exterior, overhauled cabin, and a brand-new powertrain.

GM Authority provided the exciting news about the details, and offered up these photos of the new model dipped in stealth black paint. There were a few things about it that didn’t quite make sense, and are worth investigating: up front, there is a fascia that has undergone a flat-black treatment with silver-painted bumper garnish, which was a feature usually seen on the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. The grille is also sporting a Z71 badge, and the headlights are the halogen variety that is common on the WT, LT, and Trail Boss trim levels.

From the side view, 18-inch wheels with a black finish are evident, which initially seems the norm for the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boston Z71 trim levels. But here it was noted that the Z71 and trail boss decals are absent from the flanks, as well as the rear end sporting an LT badge on the tailgate. Even though there appears to be a combination of many trim levels’ elements sprinkled in a formula that was already winning in our book, this model still looks striking with the black paint and slightly redone exterior features.

This coming model also will have a brand new fully overhauled cabin space, sourcing power from a 2.7-liter inline 4-cylinder L3B gas engine, available in three different tuning levels. The package has made it to the second generation GM8 speed automatic transmission and rides on the 31XX-2 platform. This mid-sized and well-rounded truck is going to be assembled right here in the show-me state at the GM Wentzville factory. While out on the scene, another 2023 Colorado model was just spotted by GM Authority roaming the wild in glacier blue metallic paint and sporting a class black sports grill along with black bow tie badging.

Car and Driver reported that there will be an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen added as standard equipment, also claiming that the Colorado now has the advantage over the aging competition of the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Honda Ridgeline. The incoming Colorado continues to use an independent front suspension with a solid rear axle and leaf springs, and the ZR2 mounts trusty Multimatic DSSV dampers up front. You’ll also be working with the most towing in the mid-size pickup segment, with a max capacity of 7700 pounds, which is more than the Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and Jeep Gladiator.

Chevy Silverado Named “Most Considered Non-Luxury Vehicle” for 2nd Quarter of 2022 by Kelley Blue Book

2022 Chevy Silverado Lineup

All of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse have been enjoying the power and convenience of the Chevy Silverado 1500 all summer: there’s nothing quite as satisfying as throwing all your gear and camping equipment in the bed and heading out into the wild! The experts on duty at Kelley Blue Book and Cox Automotive heaped yet another large honor onto the Silverado’s shoulders this past week, officially claiming that it was the most-considered non-luxury vehicle during Q3 of the 2022 calendar year as consumers opened their laptops for research, and prepared for test drives!

In its recent Q2 2022 Brand Watch report, Kelley Blue Book crunched the numbers regarding which models consumers were considering purchasing in various segments and categories. Established in 2007, the latest study includes both mobile and desktop users, which just became standard protocol this year. This provided for a much higher response rate, and a group of respondents more representative of the true American consumer. Our esteemed Chevy Silverado 1500 beat out the Ford F-150 for the top contender as the most considered model.

While we were enjoying the pristine blue lakes and explosion of awesome fireworks during the 4th of July, GM Authority reported the news that customers with a huge need for speed can satisfy their urges courtesy of the new SC250 Package upgrade from Callaway, sporting a Ten Three TVS R2650 Supercharger System with associated TripleCooled Intercooling. This very powerful combination most definitely is logged under our “non-luxury” category here as well, also leaving the truck in a favorable fuel economy bracket. There are other sweet upgrades to this package including billet pedals, black exhaust tips, and 20-inch Callaway wheels.

Offering an upscale and comfortable cabin, robust engine performance, and a good amount of advanced tech and safety features, the Silverado’s composed handling has made it the favorite of powertrain connoisseurs worldwide for years. We sure are long-time admirers of the turbodiesel straight-six, and its well-known penchant for doling out torque that seems to come from a supernatural source! Thanks to some major updates, the Silverado now boasts an even more upscale cabin with some of the best tech and driver assistance features in the segment, including the futuristic and very intelligent addition of Super Cruise.

An incredibly adept workhorse and a very well-rounded daily driver, the 2022 Chevy Silverado is obviously faring quite well against the competition, as many other publications and blogs have doled out praise for its appeal. We feel that the gap has been narrowed with a ferocious blowback against the Ford F-150 concerning the Silverado’s latest enhancements, and the ZR2’s off-road chops are a bit more aligned with what we feel is a superior advantage and personality over the Raptor. The Silverado has been recognized by some of the savviest in the industry for its light and responsive steering, and consistently stable feel when engaged on a highway cruise!

2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss Model Defies Dirt + Double Lines with Larger Size, Improved Interior

Most truck enthusiasts here at Mid Mo Powerhouse have a specific list of characteristics they’re looking for in their next truck. While we waited for the official details on the 2023 Chevy Colorado, the staff on duty at Car and Driver did an excellent job of filling us in on all the features that truck lovers everywhere could look forward to. The newer model will grow slightly with a wider exterior design and have a greatly improved interior.

There’s a brand-new Trail Boss trim level for the 2023 Colorado, while the V6 and Duramax Diesel engines are replaced by the Silverado 1500’s turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four. This smaller-size yet potent package under the hood has a range of 230 to 310 horsepower, while delivering 430 lb-ft of torque. The official word right now is that the third generation Colorado will see a production start date in the first half of next year right here in the Show-Me State at GM’s Wentzville, MO assembly plant, where the GMC Canyon and current Colorado are built.

The Car and Driver staff start things off by saying that the new 2023 Colorado succeeds greatly at having all the best ingredients and that its turbocharged 4-cylinder engine cranks out as much horsepower as the V6 in the competing Nissan’s brand-new Frontier. Since the previous model had become so popular, it made sense to offer the new one exclusively as the 4-door crew cab with the shorter 5’ 2” box. From the entry-level work truck trim up to the boulder-conquering ZR2 off-roader, this midsize marvel has been stellar at giving people what most people want and much more than they actually need.

The new Colorado has 2.3 inches of width on the previous model, and each trim sports a 3.1-inch-longer wheelbase, with a shorter front overhang that is a great help with the off-road friendly 38.3-degree approach angle. All of us here at the powerhouse know that the Tacoma TRD Pro is very stiff in terms of competition, and it offers up just 35.0 degrees of approach as far as this constant duel is concerned. Many customers that are buying trucks with working hard in mind and playing even harder have towing capacity on their minds as a “must”, and the Trail Boss trim model is the segment leader with its 7700-pound rating.

We assume that the all-important fuel economy rating will still weigh in at right around 19 city and 25 mpg, and this turbocharged 2.7-liter engine is equipped with stop-start technology and active cylinder management that senses when the time is right to save fuel, then limits combustion to only two cylinders. Included as standard equipment are the spray-on bedliner, 17-inch wheels with 33-inch mud-ready tires, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and extra protection underneath for the trials of the trail.
