2020 Chevy Suburban Spy Shots Provide a Glimpse of Major Change Underneath

Shortly after the major announcement that the Suburban RST is going to acquire a massive change within the engine department, we now have received spy shots of the future Suburban, and a glimpse of changes in the suspension situation. Putting the 6.2-liter V8 to the test will provide many with pleasure, as the quick need to engage appropriately up a steep grade, or get somewhere lightening fast may arise. We are fully aware that there is some pretty serious competition in the form of the Ford Expedition, and this is quite possibly the element that led to the upgrade to independent rear suspension.

Way back in 1963, the legendary Corvette Stingray became the very first modern American car to sport an independent rear suspension, which not even the mega-pricey Ferrari had at that time. It provided better ride and handling, and is made up of two independently-acting springs that are solidly attached to the rear wheels. Unlike a rigid axle system, IRS does not include a solid rear axle rooting the two rear wheels together. Instead, each wheel is sprung and mounted completely stand-alone, allowing them to move up and down in response to surface irregularities. When one of the rear wheels hits a pothole or bump, the full effect of its motion is not transferred along the axle to the corresponding wheel, greatly improving the finished product of a smooth ride.

The engine options are expected to closely mirror the new 2019 Silverado, which could absolutely mean a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder taking up space in a Suburban. This is a car that will excite many with being based on the GM T1 platform, delivering all-new underpinnings and engineering. It's expected to be around 300 pounds lighter than the 4th-generation model, and will be composed of all-new interior and exterior design elements. The 2020 Suburban is also supposed to include the GM Super Cruise autonomous driving technology, an autopilot version of sorts designed for hands-free highway driving.

The foundation of Super Cruise is to use an extensive group of LIDAR maps that cover most major highways of the United States. When paired up with cameras and your car's radar, there is a situational awareness in existence that currently champions any other system on the market. It actually allows you to take your hands off the wheel, and a light bar turns green telling you it is fit to do so. A small camera mounted on the steering column even monitors our eyes to make sure you are closely paying attention, and Super Cruise never slipped out of lane markings during hundreds of miles of testing. The 2020 Chevy Suburban will continue to be assembled by GM in Arlington, Texas, and we will keep you posted about any new information that comes our way: two years will go by quick, just like every milemarker will when at the helm of this safe and high-ranking Chevy make!

The Upcoming 2019 Silverado: A Range of Engines For Every Responsibility

When customers on the hunt for the perfect truck find their way in to see us at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, they naturally have questions about the many different trims available to them. With eight different trims paired to six engine and transmission combos, that many more customers will be able to find a 2019 Silverado 1500 that will perfectly tailor their needs for performance, technology, and long-lasting value. Over half of the models will be equipped with some of the most advanced V-8's in Chevy's longstanding history: these are heavily-updated versions of the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter engines that are equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management, which puts to use 17 different modes that work hard to accomplish deactivation of cylinders.

On the Silverado LT and brand new RST, there is an all-new, very advanced 2.7-turbo engine that replaced the 4.3-liter V6 as the new standard. It is slated to offer 22 percent more torque, much better fuel efficiency, and a larger power-to-weight ratio than found on the current model. There is also now an all-new Duramax 3.0-Liter inline six turbo diesel, that is on deck to be available in early 2019. Each combination of engine and transmission is based on one of three focused customer profiles: High Value, High Volume, or High Feature. The High Value profile is for customers that are seeking full-size truck capability, but still very affordable price tag. Here, the Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims offer optimum transmission and engine combinations.

The High Volume profile was engineered for customers that have needs right in the heart of the truck market. Much like the hard-working people of the Heartland itself, the LT, RST, and LT Trail Boss trims are there to offer performance, efficiency, and new technology options for the consumer. Standard for the LT and RST, the all-new 2.7-liter Tubo with Active Fuel Management and stop/start technology is avidly paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Now standard on LT Trail Boss and also available on LT and RST is an updated 5.3-Liter V-8, with Dynamic Fuel Management, and 8-speed automatic transmission as well.

Customers shopping for a truck that is premium in all ways will be thrilled with  the High Volume profile: the LTZ and High Country trims offer the absolute highest levels of performance. The entry-level Standard trim has the updated 5.3-Liter V8, with Dynamic Fuel Management and stop/start technology, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. You can also opt for the updated 6.2-Liter V8 on the Available trim level, paired aptly with a 10-speed transmission. Every single model boasts more in the aerodynamic and weight realm than their predecessors, and fuel efficiency is not sacrificed to reach the ultimate goal. To truly wear the badge of the most dependable and longest-lasting pickup on the road, the Silverado is subjected to more than 475,000 validation tests, and logs a whopping 7 million miles of road testing before the very first model rolls off the line!

2019 Chevy Silverado RST Spy Shots Leaked, Minus Usual Camouflage

The very Awesome, able and rugged 2019 Silverado was already shown to the public at this year's Detroit Auto Show, but a few questions were left unanswered. Some of them were in relation to the RST trim level, which was shown in spy photos that we received over the past week. The main differences are within the body-colored grille: it has narrowed gaps in the center bars. Bumpers are now body-colored, and the fog lights have chrome guards that bear similarity to the grille's design.

The tailgate is the usual Silverado's style, but gets the cool extra stamp of an RST trim badge. The pictured test truck also has a 4x4 sticker, clearly stating the four-wheel-drive availability for the RST. We still believe that there will be more some performance upgrades to the RST, within this trim that was first introduced on the Suburban, and Tahoe. Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we recognize just how important it is for you to have a very durable, reliable, and sturdy truck to get your daily duties done. Reserving the lighter aluminum for its tailgate, doors, and hood, the 2019 Silverado is unlike competitor Ford's F-150 in the composite materials category, which is now incorporating aluminum into the cab's construction.

There is supposed to be as much as 450 pounds trimmed from the crew-cab V-8 2019 compared to the previous year's model, including 88 pounds from the body and another 88 removed from the frame. The wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than the current truck's, and overall length is plus 1.6 inches. Legroom in the rear seat has grown from 40.9 inches to 43.8 inches, and there are two large storage bins in the rear seatbacks. No matter which cab configuration you choose, every single 2019 Silverado gets a larger bed, that offers almost seven inches of extra floor width. A brand new power-operated tailgate is new and allows consumers to open and close it with a handy button mounted right in the cabin.

There are six different powertrain combinations: Two new Gasoline V-8 engines: a 5.3-liter unit and a 6.2-liter promising improved efficiency by putting to use the Dynamic Fuel Management System, which can cut fuel flow to between one and seven cylinders as conditions vary. The newcomer to the lineup is a diesel-powered, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. When visiting us here at the Powerhouse for a test drive, don't forget to check out the LTZ and High Country luxury trims: The LTZ provides leather seating surfaces and power-folding outer mirrors, while the High Country gets a two-tone grille, chrome running boards, and a standard power tailgate. KBB.Com also awarded the Silverado in the Top 10 for Best Resale Value, solidifying its stance as a truck that never loses its luster!

2019 Chevy Suburban RST Package Raises the Stakes in the Engine Department

When Chevy introduced the RST trim level on the Tahoe and Suburban full-size SUV's,
the Suburban was just a touch left out when it came to the really high-octane goodies.
The 6.2-liter V8 that can be added to the Tahoe RST was not available, but that has
been reworked this year, courtesy of the 2019 Chevy Suburban RST Performance
Package. You get to snag the body color trim and unique wheels, as well as the bigger
engine, which has the outstanding ability to generate 420 horsepower, and 460 lb-ft of
torque.

Power-hungry customers will be eager about the power gain: the original was the 5.3-
liter V8, that made 355 horsepower and 383 pound-ft of torque. The larger engine is also
coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the addition of a magnetorheological
suspension. You also get the addition of a completely upgraded brake system and
exhaust: the brake system adds six-piston Brembo brake calipers up front, painted in a
menacing and sleek red hue. The exhaust upgrade boasts a Borla system that adds a
sweet bellow to the sound, and improves the overall flow of exhaust, while adding
character to the hefty hum of the Suburban.

The engine puts to use direct injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously
variable valve timing, to nudge every available inch of performance from the V8. The
immediate success of the Tahoe RST model prompted Chevy to bring out a Suburban
with more in the power department, and Chevrolet will continue to invest time and money
into this segment, developing models with various combinations of performance to meet
the needs of the ever-changing market. The Suburban RST will have a towing capability
of around 8,100 pounds, and a jaunt to the lake or camping site will be the perfect and
fun-filled test of its new-found strength.

You'll love the 22-inch wheels, wrapped in Bridgestone P285/45R22 tires, as well as
black accents on the grille, mirror caps, window trim, roof rails, and Chevy bowties. This
is a vehicle that is slated to hit 60 mph in just around 5.9 seconds, and will be known as
the baddest on the block in the full-size department for years to come. Any Mid-Missouri
Powerhouse customer that is running a business will no doubt love to add a suburban to
their fleet: many proud owners have told us that there is nothing quite as satisfying about
owning something that can perform like a truck, but also lug around more family and
friends in tow. We can't wait to let you have a test drive here at the Powerhouse, and
show you all of the available models that will be perfect for your family's regimen.
