The Upcoming 2019 Silverado: A Range of Engines For Every Responsibility

When customers on the hunt for the perfect truck find their way in to see us at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, they naturally have questions about the many different trims available to them. With eight different trims paired to six engine and transmission combos, that many more customers will be able to find a 2019 Silverado 1500 that will perfectly tailor their needs for performance, technology, and long-lasting value. Over half of the models will be equipped with some of the most advanced V-8's in Chevy's longstanding history: these are heavily-updated versions of the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter engines that are equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management, which puts to use 17 different modes that work hard to accomplish deactivation of cylinders.

On the Silverado LT and brand new RST, there is an all-new, very advanced 2.7-turbo engine that replaced the 4.3-liter V6 as the new standard. It is slated to offer 22 percent more torque, much better fuel efficiency, and a larger power-to-weight ratio than found on the current model. There is also now an all-new Duramax 3.0-Liter inline six turbo diesel, that is on deck to be available in early 2019. Each combination of engine and transmission is based on one of three focused customer profiles: High Value, High Volume, or High Feature. The High Value profile is for customers that are seeking full-size truck capability, but still very affordable price tag. Here, the Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims offer optimum transmission and engine combinations.

The High Volume profile was engineered for customers that have needs right in the heart of the truck market. Much like the hard-working people of the Heartland itself, the LT, RST, and LT Trail Boss trims are there to offer performance, efficiency, and new technology options for the consumer. Standard for the LT and RST, the all-new 2.7-liter Tubo with Active Fuel Management and stop/start technology is avidly paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Now standard on LT Trail Boss and also available on LT and RST is an updated 5.3-Liter V-8, with Dynamic Fuel Management, and 8-speed automatic transmission as well.

Customers shopping for a truck that is premium in all ways will be thrilled with  the High Volume profile: the LTZ and High Country trims offer the absolute highest levels of performance. The entry-level Standard trim has the updated 5.3-Liter V8, with Dynamic Fuel Management and stop/start technology, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. You can also opt for the updated 6.2-Liter V8 on the Available trim level, paired aptly with a 10-speed transmission. Every single model boasts more in the aerodynamic and weight realm than their predecessors, and fuel efficiency is not sacrificed to reach the ultimate goal. To truly wear the badge of the most dependable and longest-lasting pickup on the road, the Silverado is subjected to more than 475,000 validation tests, and logs a whopping 7 million miles of road testing before the very first model rolls off the line!
