The very Awesome, able and rugged 2019 Silverado was already shown to the public at this year's Detroit Auto Show, but a few questions were left unanswered. Some of them were in relation to the RST trim level, which was shown in spy photos that we received over the past week. The main differences are within the body-colored grille: it has narrowed gaps in the center bars. Bumpers are now body-colored, and the fog lights have chrome guards that bear similarity to the grille's design.
The tailgate is the usual Silverado's style, but gets the cool extra stamp of an RST trim badge. The pictured test truck also has a 4x4 sticker, clearly stating the four-wheel-drive availability for the RST. We still believe that there will be more some performance upgrades to the RST, within this trim that was first introduced on the Suburban, and Tahoe. Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we recognize just how important it is for you to have a very durable, reliable, and sturdy truck to get your daily duties done. Reserving the lighter aluminum for its tailgate, doors, and hood, the 2019 Silverado is unlike competitor Ford's F-150 in the composite materials category, which is now incorporating aluminum into the cab's construction.
There is supposed to be as much as 450 pounds trimmed from the crew-cab V-8 2019 compared to the previous year's model, including 88 pounds from the body and another 88 removed from the frame. The wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than the current truck's, and overall length is plus 1.6 inches. Legroom in the rear seat has grown from 40.9 inches to 43.8 inches, and there are two large storage bins in the rear seatbacks. No matter which cab configuration you choose, every single 2019 Silverado gets a larger bed, that offers almost seven inches of extra floor width. A brand new power-operated tailgate is new and allows consumers to open and close it with a handy button mounted right in the cabin.
There are six different powertrain combinations: Two new Gasoline V-8 engines: a 5.3-liter unit and a 6.2-liter promising improved efficiency by putting to use the Dynamic Fuel Management System, which can cut fuel flow to between one and seven cylinders as conditions vary. The newcomer to the lineup is a diesel-powered, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. When visiting us here at the Powerhouse for a test drive, don't forget to check out the LTZ and High Country luxury trims: The LTZ provides leather seating surfaces and power-folding outer mirrors, while the High Country gets a two-tone grille, chrome running boards, and a standard power tailgate. KBB.Com also awarded the Silverado in the Top 10 for Best Resale Value, solidifying its stance as a truck that never loses its luster!
