TopGear Blog Claims New Silverado HD Will “Eat Lesser Trucks for Breakfast”

As the wind rustles through trees that are sometimes snow-covered this time of year at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, thoughts of over-sized grilles, massive horsepower, and go-anywhere tires are admittedly dancing in our heads. The All-American pickup standard just keeps getting better when it comes to the Silverado, and when you have a perfect blend of exterior appeal and can-do attitude, legends are born overnight.

Claiming avidly that “The new Silverado HD will eat other trucks for breakfast,” the staff of Topgear.com wrote last week about the all-out excitement surrounding the release of the heavy-duty pickup designed to look like heavy machinery. Setting out to make a statement and visually capture all of the raw power and capability of the truck, it is true that the look of the HD can instill a bit of terror. We think heartily of films like “Friday the 13th” and “Nightmare on Elm St.”

Because this new Silverado is going to be truly HD, the roof is the only component shared with its light-duty Silverado counterpart. Every single other bit of metal is new, and when we say this, we are not talking about a small share. All over the web, truck lovers are lamenting just how dominating the new grille looks, and words like “staggering” are among the best to describe its vibe and stance. When compared to the F-250 4X4, there are so many ways in which it dominates visually: the square headlights, giant badge, and square fender openings are over-the-top unique, and the reviewers on “The Fast Lane Truck” lamented how it does feel a bit like a semi, in a good and strategic long-haul kind of way.

The range-topping “High Country” trim sports a feature that the staff of Jalopnik.com hit the nail on the head with describing: a grille that “appears less determined to eat you.” We agree that aggressive is still the name of the game, but this could be the best choice for those who still need the grunt and gusto of a truck, without evoking the sensation that they were going be a bit like “Mad Max.” One thing that all of us here can agree on is that many of our locals will fall in love with the 2020 Silverado: one of the available engines is rumored to be the Navistar-sourced 6.6-Liter V-8 from MD trucks. The Motor1.com blog claims, after a close-up look, that this coming-soon truck is uniquely “polarizing,” and we guarantee that you will love the modern and chiseled look that collides perfectly with the longstanding ability of a tried-and-true workhorse.
