2024 Chevy Silverado HD Production to Begin Soon

The mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will feature revised exterior styling, a completely reworked cockpit, enhancements to the powertrain, and more. For those wondering when it will be available, assembly lines will roar to life during February 2023! Outside, the 2024 model will benefit from brand-new headlights, a new front fascia, grille, and C-shaped LED signature lighting. 

Trims LT and above are given a completely overhauled cockpit, with a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and an all-new 13.4-inch diagonal configurable driver information center. You’ll be towing with the ice and snow-conquering strength of Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer, Enhanced Transparent Trailer, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and GCW alert. The Silverado HD boasts a trailering capacity of up to 36,000 pounds. 

The powertrain is the burly 6.6-liter L8T V8 gasoline engine, with the option to switch things up with the 6.6-liter V8 LSP turbodiesel Duramax engine. The latter cranks out 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, which is a 25 hp and 65 lb torque increase over the outgoing model. Each engine is paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission, displaying unique superiority and function while replacing the six-speed that gas-powered models used previously. 

You’ll be solidly handling daily duties with the patented front-engined and longitudinal layout, with assembly being handled by the trusty and hard-working men and women of the Chevy plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. VP of Chevy Scott Bell claimed that this HD model was “designed to be the customers’ favored choice for true truck capability,” and that the recent enhancements will bolster its dependable image even further. Many truck lovers nationwide and right here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse have a broad range of uses and chores lined up for their favorite Silverado model. From hauling and towing during a hard day's work to enjoying a slice of wilderness in their downtime, there is no shortage of daily duties and recreation that can be accomplished with this awesome truck. Currently, the Chevy Silverado offers several tailgate options, all coming in the form of a regular or regular drop-down unit. 

After the introduction of the MultiPro tailgate on the all-new 2019 GMC Sierra, it has now been revealed that Chevy will offer its very own version of the feature on the coming Silverado model. Many whispers have been heard throughout the automotive world about the coming Multi-Flex, and how it could bear a few differences from the GMC MultiPro with new features or positions. Wherever you pull up and decide to take a breather or set up shop, the MultiPro tailgate offers flexibility and added functionality with six different configurations, including second-tier loading, load-stop, a standing workstation, a drop-down centerpiece for easier access to the box, and a box step.

It also has the ability to offer up a little something that will no doubt add to the outdoor fun and party vibe: a set of Kicker speakers with Bluetooth function. They run independently from the truck's primary sound system with Bluetooth audio or USB inputs and integrate as an official accessory with the inner gate panel. One event that we would dare dream about is if the carbon fiber bed could make the jump from GMC to Chevy as well, fully rounding out our favorite truck with the best of all worlds in features and performance! Brand new standard features, options, and several new packages are in store for the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, and the staff on duty at The Newswheel.com offered up a great feature on their blog last week outlining the details and developments! According to a new GM Authority report that outlined the 2500 HD's new changes, there will now be a new standard front seat for the Work Truck, Custom, and LT trims. As opposed to the previous plain 40/20/40-split-bench seat, these models will now see a split-bench providing upper covered armrest storage.

The Work Truck and Custom trims will also see two front USB ports instead of one, and the Work Truck will see the availability of SiriusXM for streaming and live entertainment options. On higher trim levels, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are brand new for 2021 and will be available on the LT and standard on the LTZ and High Country. A new auto-dimming rear view mirror will be available for the Work Truck, Custom, and LT, and it touts a very cool feature: there is a partial video display of the cargo bed, by means of a Bed View Camera positioned on the truck's center high-mounted brake light.

Outside, the Silverado 2500 HD will have two new paint colors: Cherry Red Tintcoat and Mosaic Black Metallic. There will also be a few new wheel options in the form of an 18-inch design and 5 new 20-inch variants. Under the hood, the regular-cab Work Truck will now see E85 FlexFuel capacity for its 6.6-liter V8 gas engine, and the new Safety Essentials Package will bring Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and other new tech features to the Custom and Work Truck trims.
