So Many Tahoe Options, So Little Time. Here Is the One That Drives the Point Home.

2026 Chevy Tahoe

The Chevrolet Tahoe is one of those vehicles that earns its reputation the hard way, by actually doing what it promises. In a market increasingly dominated by car-based crossovers, the Tahoe stands apart as a genuine body-on-frame SUV built on a truck platform, and that distinction matters more than most buyers realize until they need it here at the Mid Missouri Powerhouse.

Whether the mission is towing a boat every weekend, hauling the whole family across the country, or tackling terrain that would stop most vehicles in their tracks, the 2026 Tahoe is built for the job. The only question is which version is the right one.

Built Different: Why the Tahoe Is in a Class of Its Own

Not all SUVs are created equal, and the Tahoe makes that point the moment it pulls up alongside a typical crossover. Its body-on-frame construction gives it a level of strength, durability, and towing capability that unibody competitors simply cannot replicate. This is a vehicle that earned a spot on Car and Driver's prestigious 10Best list for 2026, and that kind of recognition does not happen by accident.

The 2026 Tahoe is also the most spacious and refined version of this generation yet, offering three rows of seating, a composed ride, and a cabin that feels as comfortable on a long highway stretch as it does on a rugged backroad. It is the rare vehicle that genuinely does everything well, and does it without asking the driver to make meaningful sacrifices along the way.

The Trim Lineup: Something Purposeful at Every Level

The 2026 Tahoe comes in several well-defined configurations, each with a clear identity and a specific buyer in mind. Understanding what each one brings to the table makes the decision considerably easier.

The entry-level LS is a no-nonsense workhorse that leads the segment in maximum towing capacity when paired with the right powertrain and rear-wheel drive. For buyers whose primary concern is moving serious weight on a regular basis, it is a remarkably capable starting point that punches well above its position in the lineup.

The RST steps up the style without sacrificing substance. With a more refined interior featuring leather seating and larger wheels, it brings a polished, urban-ready presence to the Tahoe formula. Four-wheel drive comes standard, and towing capability remains impressively strong. For buyers who want a Tahoe that looks as good pulling into a city parking garage as it does pulling a trailer, the RST hits the mark.

The Z71: The One That Does It All

For buyers who want the full Tahoe experience, the Z71 trim makes the strongest case. It is the version that takes everything great about the Tahoe and adds a layer of off-road capability that transforms it into a true go-anywhere machine for the whole family.

The Z71 rides on all-terrain tires that handle trail conditions with confidence, yet somehow remain remarkably composed and smooth on paved roads. Front and rear skid plates protect the undercarriage on rougher terrain, recovery hooks are built in for when adventures get serious, and hill descent control gives drivers added confidence when navigating steep grades. These are not cosmetic off-road touches. They are purpose-built features that reflect genuine engineering intent.

For buyers who want to take the Z71 even further, an available off-road package adds adaptive ride height suspension for tackling more demanding trails, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and additional cooling capacity that comes in handy when towing heavy loads in demanding conditions. A Z71 equipped this way is ready for virtually anything the road or the trail can present.

Choosing the Right Engine for the Job

Every 2026 Tahoe comes standard with a 5.3-liter V8 engine paired to a ten-speed automatic transmission, and that combination is genuinely more than capable for the vast majority of driving situations. It moves this large SUV with authority and provides the kind of low-end torque that makes towing feel effortless.

For drivers who want to reach for more, the available 6.2-liter V8 raises output to 420 horsepower and takes a meaningful chunk off the zero-to-sixty time. It is the engine that turns an already capable SUV into something that feels genuinely quick for its size, and on the Z71, it pairs beautifully with the off-road hardware. There is also a 3.0-liter diesel inline-six available for buyers who prioritize torque and fuel efficiency on longer hauls.

Premium Trims for Buyers Who Want It All

The Premier and High Country trims represent the upper reaches of the Tahoe lineup, and they bring a level of luxury and technology that pushes into premium territory. The High Country includes the 6.2-liter V8 as standard equipment alongside upscale interior appointments that make long drives genuinely luxurious.

For buyers who are already considering loading up an RST with options like the available Bose audio system and premium leather seating, the jump to a High Country becomes an easy conversation. The features are there, the refinement is there, and the capability never goes away regardless of how much comfort gets layered on top.

The Bottom Line on the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe

The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe rewards buyers who take the time to match the right trim to their actual needs. For pure towing muscle at an accessible entry point, the LS delivers. For style and city-ready versatility without giving up capability, the RST is the answer.

For drivers who want a vehicle that handles everything from school pickups to mountain trails without breaking a sweat, the Z71 is the clear recommendation, especially when paired with the available off-road package and the 6.2-liter V8.

Whatever the configuration, every 2026 Tahoe carries the same foundational promise: a true truck-based SUV that is built to work, built to last, and built to make every drive feel like it was worth the investment. When the job demands a real truck with real capability, the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe answers the call.

2026 Chevy Equinox Deep Dive: Trims, Tech, and Features That Matter

2026 Chevrolet Equinox

As an entity that moves a lot of metal off the lot, let us tell you—when a vehicle is built right from the start, you don’t have to reinvent it every year. That’s exactly the case with the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox. Fresh off a full redesign in 2025, the new model year brings just a couple of subtle but smart enhancements here at the Mid Missouri Powerhouse.

What’s Changed for 2026?

Chevy now includes the Drive Mode Selector—which lets you tailor the vehicle’s performance for various road conditions—as standard equipment across all trim levels. That’s a nice touch for added confidence, no matter where the road takes you.

As for paint options, things are streamlined this year. A new Polar White Tricoat is exclusive to the Activ and RS trims and comes with an added cost. Meanwhile, Summit White is still available at no extra charge on the entry-level LT trim.

Outside of that, the 2026 Equinox remains unchanged—and that’s not a bad thing. Pricing stays the same too, starting at $29,995.

2026 Equinox Pricing and Availability

Good news—the 2026 Equinox is available now. You can choose between front-wheel drive (standard) or all-wheel drive, which is available across the lineup for an additional $2,000.

Here’s the current pricing breakdown:

  • LT: $29,995

  • Activ: $34,395

  • RS: $34,395

You’ll also find plenty of inventory options like:

  • 2026 Equinox 1LT: $34,045

  • 2026 Equinox AWD Activ: $38,085

Trim Levels & Features That Make a Difference

Each trim has its own character, especially up front. The LT sports a chrome-accented grille, the Activ gets a bold chrome surround with black detailing, and the RS brings a blacked-out grille with body-color accents for a more aggressive look.

Standard features on the LT include:

  • 17-inch alloy wheels

  • LED headlights and taillights

  • Keyless entry and start

  • Heated front seats and heated steering wheel

  • 11-inch digital gauge cluster

  • 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto

When it comes to safety, the Equinox delivers across the board. Every trim comes equipped with:

  • Automatic emergency braking

  • Forward collision alert with pedestrian and cyclist detection

  • Adaptive cruise control

  • Lane keep assist and departure warning

  • Blind spot monitoring with intervention

  • Rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and auto high beams

Looking for extra peace of mind? A 360-degree camera and road sign recognition are available in the optional Safety and Technology Package.

Activ vs. RS: What’s the Difference?

Both trims come with roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, and rain-sensing wipers. Inside, they share:

  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat

  • Dual-zone automatic climate control

  • Wireless phone charging

The Activ goes rugged with 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and synthetic suede seating. The RS, meanwhile, leans sporty with 19-inch wheels, all-season tires, and leather-style upholstery.

Performance & Fuel Economy

Under the hood, all 2026 Equinox models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Output is:

  • 175 horsepower

  • 184 lb-ft of torque (FWD models with CVT)

  • 203 lb-ft of torque (AWD models with 8-speed automatic)

Official fuel economy ratings are still pending for 2026, but we expect numbers close to the 2025 model:

  • FWD: 26 city / 28 highway / 27 combined mpg

  • AWD: 24 city / 29 highway / 26 combined mpg

In fact, the AWD model's traditional 8-speed automatic performs slightly better on the highway than the FWD’s CVT.

Final Thoughts from the Showroom Floor

Chevy didn’t mess with a winning formula for 2026—and as a dealer, I get why. The Equinox offers serious bang for the buck, especially in safety tech and everyday comfort. Whether you're leaning toward the capable LT, adventurous Activ, or sporty RS, you’re getting one of the most well-rounded compact SUVs in the game today.

Shopping for a new SUV? Don’t settle for a spreadsheet comparison. The real deal is waiting here at the dealership, and I guarantee the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox will impress. Whether you're looking for tech, comfort, or capability, this SUV brings it—all without blowing your budget. The best part? You can take one for a test drive today.

2025 Chevy Blazer EV: Super Cruise into a Tech-Forward & Stylish Future

2024 Chevy Blazer EV

The editorial staff on duty at Autoblog has been busy cranking out features educating drivers about “what’s hot and what’s not” now for decades! We have enjoyed referring to them here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse when it comes to all types of models, and the new Chevy Blazer EV was on their list this past week for review. When it first arrived on their testing lot, its bold styling immediately caught their eye, as well as the optimal size for the American market.

Their first glance at the interior led them to claim that this was the best interior Chevy had ever put on four wheels in terms of design and quality. The touchscreen has a very futuristic and functional presence, which is another trait that drivers have eagerly had their eyes on new releases for. Fundamentally the Blazer is the same car it was for its first full year on the market, with just a few package tweaks and updated style options from GM. After just two miles behind the wheel, this crew remarked that this SUV MUST be considered by anyone in the market at its price range.

Its overall design, in-car tech, and passenger space along a driving range topping out above 300 miles have rendered the Blazer a very worthy option within its segment. The Blazer EV is now in its second model year, which has given it some content availability changes. The RS eAWD can now be equipped with a sunroof, and the 2RS enjoys Bose premium audio as standard. Contrast black and white roof options are now available, while the RS and LT both now offer an exclusive white paint option.

The Midnight/Sport Edition smartly envelopes the roof rails, wheels, and badging in darkness, along with dark chrome air vents and black cloth upholstery. The Blazer’s interior received extra praise for not adopting the “stripped-down” appearance that other EVs have. The build quality and materials used are excellent, the switchgear is top-notch, and the large screens are not the hastily bolted-on variety. The RS cabin was billed here as having an even better appearance than the related and quite pricey Acura ZDX!

The Android-based infotainment system was very simple to figure out, with very user-friendly menu shortcuts directly on top of the 17.7-inch touchscreen. These are also just a short reach from the steering wheel, and a very seamless and reliable navigation service is provided by Google Maps. Your final search results can now show up in the layout options configurable 11-inch instrument panel, along with the inclusions of the full Google Built-in suite. The Blazer EV is about the same length as the gas-powered model, which offers an excellent amount of backseat legroom for taller passengers.

Optional on the LT and standard on the RS trims is an added 90-horsepower induction motor on the rear axle, good for a combined 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. This resulting AWD system offers a significant performance increase, stepping in to aid traction during acceleration. The RS is available with rear-wheel drive courtesy of a different 250-kW motor which powers the rear axle and cranks out 340 horsepower along with 325 lb-ft of torque.

There is also a massive sense of excitement coming with the SS model, which will crank out 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque. This will be accomplished by pairing the RS’s rear motor with a brand-new “secret weapon” for a more powerful front motor. Every Blazer EV now includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and GM’s ingenious Safety Alert Seat.

Ready, Set, Assemble: 2025 Chevy Equinox Production Dates Revealed

Staying glued to the news on the web has always provided us with the “early bird’s scoop” here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, where we have just learned of another thrilling looming deadline! Full-on representing a thrilling new stance upon its official debut, the 2025 Chevy Equinox will now make public its exciting changes to the exterior styling, interior appointment, and amazing high-tech features. GM Authority has now learned when our favorite new-gen compact crossover is expected to launch.

Official production for the 2025 model is expected to resume on May 20th, 2024. The current 2024 Equinox is scheduled for conclusion on May 18th, 2023. The facility at GM San Luis Potosl plant is transitioning towards EV-only production, with models such as the Equinox and Blazer poised at the forefront. The all-new 2025 Equinox will stun buyers with an exterior design more aligned with our progressive language, including its signature two-tire “highbrow” headlights. In the rear, a set of horizontally oriented taillights are situated, alongside sharp & aggressive dual exhaust outlets.

The interior has undergone a very thorough overhaul and features better ergonomics. The space boasts a sense of practicality, and the new digital gauge cluster is poised directly behind the new steering wheel. The Infotainment system already was ranked as awesome up against the competition, but the 2025 model sports an entirely new version. There are new active safety features along with the convenient and game-changing GM Super Cruise technology. Specific powertrain details are not quite yet on the table, but we expect the 2025 Equinox to arrive with a small displacement turbocharged variant.

The Motor Trend team claimed that this will most likely be the year to say goodbye to the 2024 model’s base 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with an 8.0-inch model or larger on all base LS’s. Most trims are expected to step into the coming of spring with a larger display of around 11 inches. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay should be part of the picture, along with physical knobs and buttons to assure that things remain simple. Edmunds.com praised the incoming Equinox for its “premium look inside and out, strong optional V6 engine, quiet interior, and comfortable highway ride.”

Facing off directly with the likes of the Mazda CX50 and Honda CRV, the Equinox has long staked its claim by delivering intense bang for the hard-earned buck. Last earmarked the additions of riptide blue and Lakeshore blue color choices, along with a revision of the Driver Confidence II Package. This will now see the addition of blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, along with availability on the base LS trim. The Car and Driver review team was thrilled with the 2024 Equinox’s competent handling and incredibly accurate and very direct steering quality.

The Equinox boasts a 3500-lb towing capacity, along with a nicely-styled cabin and many interior luxuries. Every Equinox is available with a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and the model has earned a 5-star rating from the NHTSA. Some of the Equinox’s safety features include standard forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, standard lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, and available adaptive cruise control. There is always the possibility of brand-new hybrid powertrains joining the mix, and we are thrilled to keep everyone informed here on the blog of any updates or other pertinent NYE details!
