There are so many different types of great vehicles available out there right now, that it can be hard to narrow your search down to find what's perfect for you! Full-size always means trustiest as well as capable, and Powerhouse customers are definitely known for their need of the absolute best and strongest in the business. Chevy announced last week that the new Suburban RST Performance Package will feature a 420-hp 6.2 L V-8 engine, Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration, and a new hyrda-matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. This officially brings to the table a seamless blend of style and performance to Chevy's full-size SUV portfolio, and available later this summer, it is the first time that Suburban will offer the 6.2L V-8, which boasts 420 horsepower, and 460 Lb-ft of torque.
The engine delivers 3 state-of-the-art technologies, direct injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously variable valve timing – to make the most of efficiency, power, and torque no matter what type of driving condition is thrown your way. A new 10-speed automatic transmission is also featured, with smaller steps between each ratio to maximize the engine's power during acceleration. This transmission also fulfills the duty of reducing revolutions of the engine at highway speeds, by means of the 7.39 overall gear ratio spread, and lower numerical top gear ratio.
Magnetic Ride Control is an active suspension that “reads” the road every millisecond, which results in the important triggering of damping changes in the shock absorbers during the ride. After this occurs, the suspension delivers both improved body-motion control during cornering, and a much more comfortable and stable drive during the cruise. This exciting and now-available Performance Package offers the highest levels of acceleration, braking, and road-holding grip, and really refines the ride for the times when relaxation is needed.
Extra performance accessories for Suburban RST include a custom tuned Performance Dual-side exhaust system: it was engineered and produced by Borla, with sleek exhaustion tips that improve exhaust flow by 28 percent. This results in greatly enhanced performance, and decreased fuel consumption. You can also up the quality of the ride one more drastic level higher, with the available performance brake package designed, engineered, and backed by Brembo, which features massive front red six-piston, fixed aluminum calipers with larger-than-stock brake pads, along with Duralife rotors that feature a specially hardened surface to reduce corrosion. One of the first things you'll notice when you visit us in the Fall for a test drive at the Powerhouse is the elimination of much of the chrome trim: the result is a much more aggressive and sporty appearance, and you can't go wrong during any tough task sporting a towing capacity of 8,100 pounds!
