2022 Chevy Silverado Refresh to See Exciting Interior and Exterior Additions

As the time finally  arrives when we see exactly what new features models will bring here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, it is always thrilling to check out the extra and ingenious ways to enjoy your brand-new vehicle. When it comes to trucks, that excitement is now even greater, as towing capacities, developments in trailering, and all sorts of infotainment technology have seen great advances recently. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 saw quite the list of upgrades, presenting the buyer with that many more reasons to make it their own.

There is now the addition of the new Multi-Flex tailgate and the turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four L3B engine option present on all Regular Cab Long Box models. The incoming 2022 Silverado was recently spotted in the wild via spy shots, from GM Authority, in the form of the Regular Cab and the Work Truck trim. Outside you can see the door handles and sideview mirror caps finished in black, while the wheels are 17-inch aluminum wheels see Bright Silver paint. There will be a redesigned front fascia, placeholder headlamps, new front fender, a redesigned box, rear end, and new tail lamps.

When you are settled in and beginning to set your sights on the long haul, comfort in the cabin is a necessary trait. The good news here is that this is where the biggest changes will be in the interior space, where the pickup now sees a layout similar to the 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban. Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert will also reportedly be an option on the 2022 Silverado, informing the driver if any other vehicle is suddenly approaching too close to the trailer or is within any blind spot. This system works wonders in regards to preventing accidents which could be catastrophic with the added weight and mass of a trailer involved.

This time around during the refresh, we are fairly certain that we are going to be seeing many experts offering up very enthusiastic recognition for the accomplishments in engineering and design. It is also possible that a new bed step may be added from the heavy-duty models, and the half-ton truck may see the addition of a similar two-light arrangement much like is seen on the larger Silverado HD.

Well-known for its capability and upright appearance, the namesake of the Silverado is also keeping many on edge with the ZRX version on schedule to appear within the next year as well. One of the most important details for us to keep you posted on is another rumor that has been circulating for some time: the platform may even need to be modified to make way for a hybrid powertrain.

Accessories to Accompany the Perfect Getaway: Our Picks For the Coolest Tahoe Extras

The Tahoe is the trusty-and-proven vehicle that offers up three rows of seating, hefty V8 engines, and tons of space with comfort. Since the vehicle has become so popular, there are now a wide variety of aftermarket accessories available to help customize the Tahoe to accommodate almost any need or change-up on a whim. As all of our loyal customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse get ready to take inventory of their favorite features, it is a great time to pick out your favorite add-ons, and we rounded up this sampling of some of the coolest ones out there that stood out from the rest.

Yakima LockNLoad Rack: When you are using the third-row seats, the cargo area shrinks, and a roof rack is a great way to add useful space. This Yakima rack allows for configuration to off-road driving specifics and can take a fair amount of punishment. Constructed from trusty aluminum and available in many different sizes, this LockNLoad rack is one of the best accessories out there if extra space is what's going to make your ride experience better.

Weather Tech Floor Mats: The carpeted flooring in many vehicles tends to get very grimy and well-used after time, and they are one of the things that can need replacing when they get completely worn. These have high sides to hold in rain, melting snow, or spilled drinks. The fit is right down to the T, and they are one of the additives that help to boost the value of your vehicle, making them an instant game-changer in our book.

K&N Cold Air Intake: The engines of today have air intakes and advanced filter systems designed to meet very thorough demands. Every engine improves from having increased air intake, adding performance and horsepower. These air filters are superior enough to be rated for a whopping ten years and a million miles, and a simplified intake that helps the engine breathe more efficiently. It also makes the sound of the Tahoe completely different, and some  have claimed an increase in fuel economy.

Covercraft Carharrt SeatSaver: Keeping seats in the best possible shape is not easy, and seat protectors keep them lasting as long as possible. Covercraft is one of the premier manufacturers of said goods that always fit perfectly and are the most durable out there. The protection is now even better than ever after teaming up with Carharrt to add their world-class fabric to the mix. There are so many elements that can affect the quality of your seats even on a good day, and these are great for being able to take whatever liquid or lurch on the road comes their way.

Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires: If going off-road is important to you, a tire swap is a necessity for most stock-level crossovers. One of the best examples we've seen is the Nitto Ridge Grappler, offering top-notch handling through mud and rocks without the additive of extra noise while going down the highway. The Ridge Grappler has a very high-void tread pattern that is ideal for trails and can help cut down on noise while driving on everyday pavement. The tread pattern offers extra bite and sturdy grip, featuring stone ejectors between the tread voids that do away with the rocks you accumulate during an off-road spin. Anyone planning on going off-road period would be doing themselves a huge favor by adding four of these to their rig.

KMC Wheels: Wheels straight from the factory have vastly improved over recent years, but the appearance factor on your SUV really jumps up with a set of scorching-hot aftermarket numbers! KMC's XD Series are a very stylish statement yet also incredibly tough, making them some of the coolest-looking wheels on the market that can truly handle the demands of dirt and mud. These are probably ranked the highest out there by us for how much they drastically change the look and function of the Tahoe.

Magnetic Cellphone Holder: Whether you are making hands-free calls, jamming out to music, or finding your next destination, we all use our phones while in the vehicle. These genius stick-on magnetic holders are able to be mounted in the cab in your Tahoe and make the phone more visible without you having to shift your gaze from the road. After just a few minutes, you'll love having it wherever you stick this instead of your lap for the long journey!

2021 Chevy Suburban's New Exterior Addition Eyeful: Empire Beige Metallic Hue

The 2021 Chevy Suburban is our heavy-rolling, large-sized and hefty vehicle of choice here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse for any family or business with a penchant for reliability that is experiencing rapid growth. The incoming model offers a total of nine exterior colors, boasting four that are brand-new: Cherry Red Tintcoat, Midnight Blue Metallic, Graywood Metallic, and Empire Beige Metallic. Immediately when you pull up for a meeting or just the daily school drop-off, you're going to notice when those around you are admiring the way your ride looks, and that's always been part of the satisfaction!

The Empire Beige Metallic is a choice that will absolutely have those heads turning your way, staking its claim as one of the six neutral color options available for the 2021 Suburban. The other five in this category are Satin Steel Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, Black, Graywood Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, and Summit White. More great news is that this is one of the colors included in the base price of the Suburban, and it is available with all interior color combinations and trim levels.

Production of the 2021 Chevy Suburban is now underway at the GM Arlington plant, which has been proudly rolling out all varieties of large vehicles for Chevy since 1954. Here 4,000+ dedicated employees work 3 shifts to produce roughly 1,200 vehicles each day. Just 4 years ago, the plant enjoyed the celebration of seeing its 10 millionth vehicle roll off the line, and it just happened to be a 2015 Chevy Suburban! There is a new independent rear suspension for the 2021 model that benefits overall ride as well as cargo capacity, and more legroom for rear passengers.

Many over the past few years had asked us about diesel option potential, and we wholeheartedly delivered: the newly available diesel engine provides the ultimate advantage for fuel range and towing ability. When you step into your brand-new Suburban you are taking the wheel of one of the very few truck-based SUVs still around, offering versatility, refinement, and a massive amount of passenger space. The 5.3-liter V8 that you'll encounter in most Suburbans generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the extra punch and audible difference from the 6.2-liter V8 taking up residence in the High Country trim will immediately make you grin.

While you're in motion, the engine is working overtime via smart technology that deactivates  selected cylinders to conserve fuel. Even with a brand-new design for the Suburban, there is a distinct vibe of familiarity, as not too many elements in the layout have seen too intense of a change compared to previous generations. For the first time, the Suburban now gets sliding second-row seats and optional power-folding for the rear seats that can be controlled from multiple spots inside. Additional USB ports assure that everyone onboard sees charging ability, and optional 12.6-inch LCD touchscreens with their own HDMI inputs are available to provide an extra entertainment option for those in the second row.

Will The Chevy Colorado ZR2 Soon be Enjoying The Company of Another Off-Road Sibling?

As we look over all of the various truck blogs and other websites online, one thing has become clear to us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse: Americans have gone far beyond the predictability and daily norm of pavement to drive off-road in increasing numbers. Nature is surely beckoning to scores more of people who are ready to get out and play on dirt trails and try their hand at crossing streams and conquering boulders.

The list of those wanting to be equipped heavily enough to jump off road and play in the brush grows noticeably by the year, and so Chevy wants to be sure to have all varieties and sizes available for those who are ready to embrace the wild. Chevrolet has already polished our off-road chops with the addition of the ZR2 and the Bison, but both of those happen to be more in the mid-size category. An unconfirmed report seen in muscle Cars and Trucks claimed that there is a Silverado ZR2 in the development phase, scheduled to make its debut for the 2023 model year.

As we asked around it seemed that the Silverado will follow the same basic recipe as the Colorado, seeing a greatly-improved suspension and refinished front and rear bumper designed for better approach and departure angles. Also rumored to be added are front and rear electronically locking differentials and Multimatic DSSV dampers. Going leaps and bounds beyond the current Trail Boss trim would yield a valuable product to many buyers who aren't going as full force into the wild immediately, and would not necessarily exist as a direct rival to the Ram 1500 TRX or Ford F-150 Raptor.

These heavily-flexed trucks were definitely designed for very extreme conditions and breakneck speed, and this model would potentially see a 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter V8 for its power source. Something with as much brute force as a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel would not conform as well to the various changes that are in the planning stages for the face of the new model. The Silverado as a whole will see a center console overhaul for 2021, as well as the addition of the multi-talented Multi-Flex tailgate.

We have absolutely loved so many of the special models that have been created in the meantime for customers who are on the hunt for something very specific, such as the Carhartt Edition. Based on the Silverado 2500 LTZ, it was the result of a perfect combination of two brands that are experts at catering to the hard-working men and women who dig the heck out of this purposeful and practical apparel brand. We will keep you posted about the arrival and all of the other juicy off-road prone tidbits as soon as they develop, paving the way for a full-size and rugged trail contender.

2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 and Larger HD Will Both Brandish New Multiflex Tailgate

Many truck lovers nationwide and right here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse have a broad range of uses and chores lined up for their favorite Silverado model. From hauling and towing during a hard day's work to enjoying a slice of wilderness in their downtime, there is no shortage of daily duties and recreation that can be accomplished with this awesome truck. Currently, the Chevy Silverado offers several tailgate options, all coming in the form of a regular or regular drop-down unit.

After the introduction of the MultiPro tailgate on the all-new 2019 GMC Sierra, it has now been revealed that Chevy will offer its very own version of the feature on the coming Silverado model. Many whispers have been heard throughout the automotive world about the coming Multi-Flex, and how it could bear a few differences from the GMC MultiPro with new features or positions. Wherever you pull up and decide to take a breather or set up shop, the MultiPro tailgate offers flexibility and added functionality with six different configurations, including second-tier loading, load-stop, a standing workstation, a drop-down centerpiece for easier access to the box, and a box step.

It also has the ability to offer up a little something that will no doubt add to the outdoor fun and party vibe: a set of Kicker speakers with Bluetooth function. They run independently from the truck's primary sound system with Bluetooth audio or USB inputs and integrate as an official accessory with the inner gate panel. System output is rated at 100 watts through a pair of 4-inch coaxial drivers and a small amplifier. You don't even have to have the truck running at the campsite or tailgate party as the system sources its electricity from a low current draw, which allows for hours of play.

Another notable feature of the Multi-Flex is a secondary cutout right in the middle that can be folded out, including a step to make the climb into the bed easier. It can also be folded up to keep longer loads from slipping straight off the back of the tailgate and is equipped with an auxiliary input and USB port. This is the tailgate that the expert staff on hand at Car and Driver ranked as the best there is on the current market, and it is an exciting additive and boost in productivity to see arriving on the incoming model.

One event that we would dare dream about is if the carbon fiber bed could make the jump from GMC to Chevy as well, fully rounding out our favorite truck with the best of all worlds in features and performance! We think it would make the most sense to see the presence of the Multi-Flex Tailgate on the RST, LTZ and High Country, as the Trail Boss versions have their focus on off-road ability.
