2024 Chevy Silverado EV’s 3 Most Electrifying Traits!

Everyone here on duty at the Mid Missouri Powerhouse staff has long known that electrification was going to change everything we knew about trucks! Chevrolet’s fully loaded RST First Edition trim was sold out just 12 minutes after official reservations were in place. It’s now evident that the Corvette is not the only Chevy product with a large enough draw to command a six-figure price. The new Silverado EV showcases sensational styling, advanced in-cab technology, and a futuristic stance that can satisfy any car buyer!

Here are a few of the features that the Edmunds.com car editorial staff thought was above average. The all-new, all electric Silverado is a great choice for small businesses and growing families that want an eco-conscious alternative as trucks begin to depend less on fuel and more on sustainable electric power.

The Kinetic Clout of a 400-Mile Range:

If you have ever barreled down a long stretch of the interstate while on fumes, you know that range anxiety is a huge issue that can affect you. This is where the 400-mile range of the Silverado EV is going to prove to be very appealing. Especially if you don’t have anything to tow or haul and that you are lowered available air suspension for peak aerodynamic efficiency. What are many buyers navigating the future’s versatile EV truck market going to notice first? That this range is more than the Ford can claim for its upcoming F-150 Lightning, and about the same as the R1T with the optional battery pack in tow. With 350-kW DC fast-charging, you can add a very useful extra 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The Collective 20,000-lb Proper Pull Courtesy of the Tow Package:

When the Silverado EV first debuted, it was stated that the electric truck would be able to tow up to 10,000 pounds. That figure is on even keel what Ford offers up, and the Silverado EV Work Truck now will boast a maximum tow rating of 20,000 pounds courtesy of a max tow package you can snag up just after the truck’s official launch date. This is incredibly impressive, and will immediately sway many who are looking to get immediately situated into an electric truck that can get the toys to the lake without any fuss, and will do so repeatedly as the summer days are upon you!

The Multi-Flex Cargo Bed Expansion on Demand:

One new trick that is present on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is one that was fondly remembered on the Avalanche, in the form of the Multi-Flex Midgate. With it, you can see the Silverado EV’s cargo bed expand from less than 6 feet in length to a little more than 9 feet with the tailgate closed. You just fold the corresponding lower portion of the cab wall down after folding the EV’s 60/40-split back seats down in part or full, then fold the lower portion of the cab wall down as well.

After doing this, you can easily carry the weight of a passenger and a long item or choose to fold down both sides of the back seat and lower cab wall to remove the rear window glass directly from the cab. You can even drop the Multi-Flex Tailgate and flip up a lip on the trailing edge and enjoy 11 feet total in length from the bed for the 2 x 4’s, cousin’s couch, or any other goods you’ll be hauling around in this range-topping EV from all of us right here at the Bowtie Brand!

World’s First Corvette C8 Z06 in Barrett-Jackson Auction Ranks Most Powerful Production Engine in Existence

At the Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 29th, the 2023 Corvette Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated production engine on the planet. A 5.5-liter V8 that produces 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

This fast drive propels from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 195 mph. Customers will have the choice from 12 exterior paint options and seven wheel and interior color packages: the Z07 Performance Package, Adrenaline Red interior, and carbon-fiber wrapped steering wheel. The standard 2021 Corvette Z06 is expected to have a starting price of around $90,000. However, the very first production version Corvette C8 was auctioned for $3 million at Barrett Jackson’s 2020 Scottsdale Auction and was purchased by JR Motorsports co-owner Rick Hendrick.

We will have to wait and see what the results will be from this annual auction for charity. For now, the 2022 Chevy Corvette C8 Z06 version has been revealed with a 670-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 engine and winged wide-body supercar design. It sports the flat-plane crank double-overhead-cam V8, which is also the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 ever to be installed. It goes from 0 to 60 in just 2.6 seconds and is mated to the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic.

This year’s Z06 is wider than the Stingray and uses bigger air intakes and a wide rear ring. Longtime fans that were familiar with the Corvette’s abilities long before the engine was moved behind the driver will immediately love the sharpened performance characteristics such as lower weight, new aerodynamic elements, and upgraded brakes and tires. The Z06’s key features include a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, carbon-fiber inserts, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone automatic Climate Control.

The Motor1.com team claimed after an exhilarating private drive that “This rev-happy engine is unlike anything to ever grace a Corvette, save for the C8.R race car from which it’s derived.” It is a display of brute power and performance in the highest regard. Keep up to date with our blogs to stay in the loop about Scottsdale on the 29th!

Equinox EV Offers “Just Right for the Times” Value Proposition, Massively Capable Ultium Platform

Scheduled for an official market launch during the fall of 2023, the Chevy Equinox EV was the focus of a feature on the Inside EVs blog over the past week. At Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we have been eagerly watching as the market’s current state was all-in regarding the need for an affordable and very functional, compact SUV. The “affordable” component of all this is what we think is the most attractive. The capabilities of the Ultium platform and its attractive design are still going to appeal to those who have tons of love for upper-end luxury!

There will be both retail and fleet versions, and the new model will have the availability of LT and RS trims. The instrument cluster indicates some 235 miles of range when it was situated at about ¾ charge, suggesting that the total range would be above 300 miles. Accessibility and availability to everyone is a platform that has been left far behind with many of today’s other crossover offerings, especially as electrification imposes the need for a high level of engineering prowess, testing, and development.

We are huge fans of how the EV’s exterior styling blends futuristic touches with more traditional crossover design elements. There could still be a top-level Premier trim in the works for those wanting to boost the upper-end level of appeal. Following in the very modern tire tracks of the electric Bolt hatchback and EUVs, the Equinox will see an official release date before the freshly revealed Silverado pickup. It is also suspected that a Blazer EV will be officially debuting at the same time. With the Silverado EV’s driving range boasting an estimated maximum of around 400 miles, we expect the Blazer’s to be around the 300-mile range.

New for 2022 on the Equinox is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availability, refreshed exterior styling, and hands-free park assist. You’ll be driving in style with a roomy five-seat interior, a user-friendly infotainment system, and standard safety features. There are also brand-new headlights, a restyled grille, refreshed bumpers, and new sporty-looking RS trim with very cool black exterior accents.

Providing an accessible form of competition for the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, the LT trim level on the current model provides the broadest array of standard and available features at a reasonable price.

Brand loyalty is a huge customer trait when it comes to full-size trucks here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, and the 2022 Chevy Silverado gives every single one of you something unique to get excited about. Hitting back hard against rivals such as the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150, the 2022 model arrives on the scene with a sleek cabin and a new self-driving feature that boasts trailer compatibility. The engine options are as strong and capable as ever, from the punchy turbo four, to the mountainside-ruling 6.2-liter V8.

The towing rating is 13,300 pounds, and you won’t be disappointed with its numerous high-tech trailering features. New for 2022, the cabin is made up of advanced materials and possesses a more modern layout, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and sensationally-sized 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. If it’s the top-of-the-line High Country model you’re after, you’ll be enjoying cruising along with the Super Cruise option, offering GM’s patented hands-free driving application for added convenience.

The LT model is where a step up from the Custom and Work Truck trims is noticeable in the interior, and the 5.3-liter V8 is a very fast and economical choice for the powertrain type. This V8 setup also allows for the selection of the Z71 Off-Road package, which provides tons of upgraded hardware. The turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder now actually has 420 lb.ft of torque which can help with smaller or pressing tow duties you may have on your list.

Are you on the hunt for a more rugged and capable half-ton all-purpose hauler? The Trail Boss model could be your rig match made in heaven! It steps up to the plate with a 2.0-inch lift, heavy-duty tires, and other upgrades that make choosing an off-road destination chock full of thrills. The High Country has leather upholstery interior and open-pore wood trim which provides an excellent taste of nearly private-airline grade comfort.

These trucks are now available with a Multi-Flex tailgate, and every Silverado 1500 is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system that will support a mobile hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Key safety features include forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, standard lane-departure warning , lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
