Screen Savvy, Secure, & Sophisticated: A Sneak Peek at the 2024 Chevy Equinox

The coming of new models is as exciting here at the Mid Missouri Powerhouse as bowl game playoffs and weekends on sledding hills: there is NO reason that winter must be a dreaded season! The 2024 Chevy Equinox comes in as welcoming as a mug warmer on a cold morning and represents the seventh model year of the compact crossover’s third and final generation. As we got the snow boots and ice scrapers primed and ready, we first took note of the trim list, as the LS, 1FL, LT, 2FL, RS, and range-topping Premier reside in the ranks.

Riptide Blue Metallic and Lakeshore Blue Metallic join the color scheme, and the Confidence & Convenience Package is now standard on the LT trim. The Driver Confidence II Package now includes Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, as the 2023 models featured them as a standalone option. Value pricing has become crucial over the past 3 years, and the Equinox has cheerfully risen to the occasion of providing current-level greatness on a budget.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox is powered by a 175-horsepower 4-cylinder engine that is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, along with front or all-wheel drive. The Kelley Blue Book team deemed the Equinox comfortable enough on the highway, and adequately nimble for daily driving. Rear-seat legroom is an area where the Equinox thoroughly excels when pitted against the competition, while also offering 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The RS trim takes things to a much sportier level with unique front styling, black Chevy badging, 19-inch black wheels, and very cool red interior stitching.

The Standard Safety Tech suite now includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. The Midnight Edition offers a darkened aesthetic that nicely blacks out the aluminum wheels, front and rear bowtie emblems, body-color mirror caps, and unique grille. As we closely examined user reviews right here in Missouri, one very satisfied owner claimed that she loved the “above average power, features that compare with the Rav4 and CRV, and sweet added touch of the power moon roof for lighting at night.”

The U.S. News auto review crew was excited with the Equinox’s high-performing ability to “tick all the boxes needed for a family-friendly vehicle with a small footprint.” Their test drive saw them discovering and enjoying the Equinox’s very spacious cabin, balanced ride and handling, and excellent fuel economy. The front row offers very comfortable seats and plenty of passenger room, and the Equinox is well worth checking out if you are after a family-friendly and spacious SUV with numerous driver assistance features.

The Premier trim offers luxe features such as a larger touch screen, very useful wireless charging, and posh leather upholstery. The LT trim still offers a robust list of features for great value, and it comes equipped with the same powertrain eagerly showing up for duty across the entire lineup. For just a slight bump up from the base trim, you’ll enjoy power-adjustable front driver’s seats, heated front seats, and a power liftgate, along with a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster. Their extensive review and comparison had also found that the Ford Escape’s 3-cylinder engine was much noisier than the Equinox’s, and that its fuel economy helps it claim “budget-minded champion” status.

Budget-Friendly Brilliance: The 2024 Chevy Equinox Defies Over-Hyped SUV Expectations!

Finding the lowest-priced SUV here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse is poised directly at the top of many of our customers’ wish lists! As we approach the 4th quarter, and after seeing an inflationary uptick during July, busy families and young professionals nationwide are on the hunt for an affordable vehicle that provides the features most important to them. Another sought-after trait is a model that allows a bit of much-needed breathing room for their other financial commitments. It is so very important to have a rock-solid warranty, favorable reliability ratings, and a viable resale value making things easier when it’s time to switch up.

Chevy has long understood the importance of affordability, and the 2024 Chevy Equinox boasts a thorough trim lineup, class-leading warranty, and reliability ratings that make for repeat buyers. Our best-selling SUV not only offers a competitive price, but also a long-lasting value proposition that gives back repeatedly during years of ownership. The bonus of class-leading fuel economy and some of the lowest maintenance costs in the industry are common traits throughout the Chevy lineup, but even more commonly present in our crossover SUV offerings.

Many compact SUV buyers are busy recent grads and commuters that are needing to save at the pump, along with growing families who are faced with the task of stretching the budget as far as possible. After scanning the most relevant data found on websites such as Consumer Reports and Kelley Blue Book, dealers everywhere have learned that car owners become very frustrated and distrustful when the fuel economy rating for their new vehicle turns out to be lower after real-life usage.

Inclement weather, elevation, and the ways drivers choose to go about their daily drive all are factors affecting fuel economy rating. The Equinox has fared so well in this department thanks to its very efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which is mated to a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. Not tipping the scales too terribly at all with a 3,400-lb weigh-in, the Equinox does not suffer from the very common problem of being bogged down by architecture type. Industry experts Nerd Wallet found that the average cost of driving a single mile is around 17 cents, which Chevy used as a benchmark while undergoing development.

Selecting a vehicle such as the 2024 Equinox quickly sees you far ahead of the curve, since the EPA’s “fuel efficient” rating is reserved for vehicles with a fuel rating of 22 mpg or more. As we watched the digital newswires for more post-test-drive findings from the Equinox, Car and Driver chimed in and was very pleased with its “easy to drive” demeanor along with very precise steering. We have long made new owners incredibly happy with our factory warranty coverage: here you can rely on a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty covering the transmission and engine.

Our first free maintenance visit will see you covered at the most important “Getting acquainted with your car” interval with an oil change, tire rotation, and multi-point inspection. More than 200,000 buyers chose to drive off the lot with a brand-new Equinox last year, and additions such as the Driver Confidence II Package made the decision that much easier. This adds lane-change alert, rear-cross traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors, along with the very useful blind spot monitor. The three top trims also offer heated front seats as standard, while the Premier includes heated outboard rear seats along with a heated steering wheel that will be very appreciated during the cold weather now just a few months away!

Equinox EV Offers “Just Right for the Times” Value Proposition, Massively Capable Ultium Platform

Scheduled for an official market launch during the fall of 2023, the Chevy Equinox EV was the focus of a feature on the Inside EVs blog over the past week. At Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we have been eagerly watching as the market’s current state was all-in regarding the need for an affordable and very functional, compact SUV. The “affordable” component of all this is what we think is the most attractive. The capabilities of the Ultium platform and its attractive design are still going to appeal to those who have tons of love for upper-end luxury!

There will be both retail and fleet versions, and the new model will have the availability of LT and RS trims. The instrument cluster indicates some 235 miles of range when it was situated at about ¾ charge, suggesting that the total range would be above 300 miles. Accessibility and availability to everyone is a platform that has been left far behind with many of today’s other crossover offerings, especially as electrification imposes the need for a high level of engineering prowess, testing, and development.

We are huge fans of how the EV’s exterior styling blends futuristic touches with more traditional crossover design elements. There could still be a top-level Premier trim in the works for those wanting to boost the upper-end level of appeal. Following in the very modern tire tracks of the electric Bolt hatchback and EUVs, the Equinox will see an official release date before the freshly revealed Silverado pickup. It is also suspected that a Blazer EV will be officially debuting at the same time. With the Silverado EV’s driving range boasting an estimated maximum of around 400 miles, we expect the Blazer’s to be around the 300-mile range.

New for 2022 on the Equinox is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availability, refreshed exterior styling, and hands-free park assist. You’ll be driving in style with a roomy five-seat interior, a user-friendly infotainment system, and standard safety features. There are also brand-new headlights, a restyled grille, refreshed bumpers, and new sporty-looking RS trim with very cool black exterior accents.

Providing an accessible form of competition for the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, the LT trim level on the current model provides the broadest array of standard and available features at a reasonable price.
