Slash Gear's Exciting Spotlight on 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition

Recently in Las Vegas during the annual SHOT show, there was an unveiling that is bound to make any outdoorsman rub their hands (and buck knives) with glee: the special limited edition 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition. Realtree is the nation's most popular brand of camo, that manufacturers products such as hunting clothing to camo print for all kinds of bikes and ATVs. This new edition is built on the Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss, and fitted with exclusive custom graphics from Realtree.

This is the second collaboration between the brands, which began in 2016 with the original edition. The Realtree edition boasts a 2-inch factory suspension lift, 20-inch black wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT off-road tires and is also fitted with the Z71 off-road package. This further boosts its very powerful off-road status, with the addition of Rancho shocks, hill descent control, automatic locking rear differential, skid plates, and an AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case. The awesome-looking Realtree camo graphics are on the outside of the truck, at the end of the bed, and on the interior door trim, and the Realtree logo is also integrated into the standard bedliner.
There are other great features to be had here such as black Silverado and Z71 badging, black exhaust tips, black round assist steps, and durable all-weather floor liners. This is not just “A Trail Boss with some graphics”; and we are so very proud to continue this longstanding partnership with Realtree.  Here you can check out some of the gear that Realtree has constructed for the camp and the kitchen, and the stuff is pure woodsman's wizardry. The Weston Vacuum Sealer, Meat Slicer, and Big Frig Cooler are simply the stuff that the eclectic gods of camping dumped on the face of the Earth to make life easier during outdoor excursions.

Realtree is the company that brought to the public the coolest Buck knives in existence, as well as the very awesome-and-able partnership with Kawasaki to offer the Mule Pro-FXT with additional hauling capacity. Their Jackets and backpacks are among the most durable items in existence, and we give them nothing but positive props for the quality of their goods and durability that everything they construct possesses.
When these guys produce camo and items like turkey-hunting gear, no detail is left awry, and they simply own their corner of the market with pure pride and resilience. When you see us at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse of Linn soon to test drive this expert archer or gunman's pride and joy, you're gonna love it: the Realtree Edition is one of those celebrations of everything outdoor-related that will be attracting customers for months to come!

2020 Chevy Silverado Deemed by Hotcars.com as A “Capable New Beast Altogether”

More than ever before, the automotive industry is now a significant part of our economy. All of us on duty here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse realize this inside and out, as we are working our best to finance your next purchase with confidence, and continuously serve you better than the competition with a smile. One arena where consumers have tried to be won over consistently is in the pickup truck category, where the 2020 Ford F-series and the 2020 Chevy Silverado are both stomping their hoofs and constantly prepared for a showdown.

James Jacobs of Hotcars.com wrote regarding this fierce battle for buyer loyalty this past week that the Silverado simply “isn't going to lie down and take it this time”. He feels that within the areas of reliability, performance, and accessibility are where the Silverado dominates. The engine is a 6.2-liter V8, paired to a ten-speed transmission, with an output of 400+ horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. A great point here is made concerning the Silverado: some reviewers have not been too keen on its lack of luxury and added features, but it's true that Chevy put a lot into the engine, performance, and sporty aesthetics of this massive truck.

Above and beyond its appearance and ability to get up and go, the 2020 Silverado is also acclaimed for the extra-large bed, reliability, towing capacity, and engine selections. Putting to use GM's classic LS-style to provide a model for the engine, the V8 trims give the 2020 Silverado to go faster than any models before it. The comfortable interior, A/C, and good mpg rating make this a sensible choice for the everyday farmer or worker who does not require insane modifications or intense off-roading. The review is completed by stating that “The Silverado is a capable best altogether”, and a huge and longstanding value for the price.
The exciting 1500 Midnight and Rally editions are both coming back for the 2020 model year, both making themselves public at the 2019 State Fair of Texas in Dallas. The maximum towing capacity is now upgraded to 13,400 pounds, and a performance upgrade package that boosts horsepower and torque in the engine. As far as safety and convenience features on board there is now adaptive cruise control, and a 15-view camera that makes towing a snap. Make sure, you familiarize yourself thoroughly with the High Country trim: it’s a great way to enjoy the Silverado through adding parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic assist, upgraded digital gauges, a power tailgate, ventilated front seats, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a spray-in bed liner.

2020 Camaro Billed by Car Connection as “Best Performance Car to buy 2020”

The staff on duty at The Car Connection have for many years been doling out the scoop on the coolest cars in the business, and this past week their editor Aaron Cole honed in on the track-ready and robust 2020 Camaro. He began his article by claiming that “These are halcyon days for horsepower”, and that for the price, there is no better option than the current model Camaro for anyone on the hunt for massive speed potential on a budget. The SS model is heavily focused on the 6.2-liter V8, which offers up 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Aaron also ranks the 6-speed manual transmission on board as the “most engaging out there”, and this Camaro goes from zero to 60 mph in around 4.3 seconds. When stacked up to the LT1 model, the SS offers a few upgrades that are important to consider: a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, Brembo Brakes, performance tires, and a digital instrument information display are all standard. The SS is also where you get to experience the addition of available magnetic dampers that bring out the rawest aspects of the car's performance on the track.

After the closely-honed advantage of a 1LE suspension tune, the SS is ready to take on the challenges of any winding road in ways that did not even exist just a few short years ago within the realm of driving technology. The rival that is always waiting across town and pounding its hoofs for a showdown is the Ford Mustang: it has always been the one that people stack up against the Camaro right away. The folks on staff at the Car Connection pointed out that they definitely have love for the 5.0-liter V8 that makes 460 hp, but the Camaro in all ways handles better than the Mustang.

Whether you are blasting down a straightaway or testing for body roll in the pockets of a two-lane road, the Camaro has so much more going for it in the handling department. Even after a Performance Package 2 upgrade for the Mustang GT, the Camaro still proved to be more agile yet nimble for every single little bump and turn. Everyone here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse enjoys offering test drives of the longstanding “Pony Pride” Camaro, and just two months ago the Car and Driver staff billed the 2020 model as “endlessly enjoyable to drive”.
The LT1 Model is the entry point engineered to make V8 power easily accessible to the masses, but the SS is where you really experience the satisfying G forces of linear power delivery, and intense acceleration made even better by means of dual-mode exhaust. The Recaro seats that used to be exclusive to the 1LE performance package are now available on the LT model, and the rear spoiler that was once just available on the RS package can now be attained on the LS and LT trims.

2021 Chevy Traverse Refresh Renderings Released Via GM Authority

It was back in 2009 when the first-generation Chevy Traverse was introduced, and it continued to be manufactured until 2017.  The all-new second-gen model came about right afterward, while the latest 2020 year replaced the RS-exclusive turbocharged 2.0-Liter LTG inline four-cylinder using the 3.6-LFY V6. The 2021 model is headed straight for the lot here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse soon, and the good folks on staff at GM Authority provided an up-close look at what this new three-row, full-size crossover could look like.
We've had spy shots of the model cross our desks and computer screens during 2019, where the Redline edition was covered in camo per usual, with some exact features a bit hard to make out. This rendering gives us a better idea of what will be in existence under the camouflage. These are courtesy of GM Authority reader Brandon L. Dejean, the artist that also  is responsible for this wickedly cool Equinox rendering posted last week. Everything looks pretty accurate, and this new look brings the Traverse in line sporting a few changes to the front and rear that are similar to what is found on the latest Chevy Blazer.

These renderings specifically portray the RS trim level, and you can even pick up on some sporty-and-sinister Camaro vibes as well. You can also make out a bit clearer the separation of the lower and upper grilles, which bears similarity to the second model's design, but with the dividing line of the grille now flowing directly underneath the LED lighting signature. It's not known for sure yet if the 2021 Traverse will offer air curtains, or feature the new signature Chevy fog lights. A completely new rear end is expected, with redesigned tail lamps and graphics on inner tail lamps.

You'll also benefit from the introduction of more USB ports inside the cabin and other improvements to the cockpit. The 2021 Chevy Traverse will continue to be assembled by GM USA at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan, and last year saw the discontinuation of the 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder. The current Chevy Traverse LT2 produces 485 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and up to 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft with the performance exhaust option. You can get from zero to 60 in just under four seconds, and towing capability is at around 6,500 lbs. If you choose to opt for the brutally-powerful SS flavor, you'll be enjoying a 5.5-liter V8 engineered with a flat-plane crankshaft that is capable of 580 horsepower, and 495 lb-ft of torque.

Stealth 2021 Chevy Equinox Rendered Images Courtesy of GM Authority

Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we have survived the season of holiday gift lists, long lines at stores, and may or may not have stayed away from the lovely snacks and desserts of the season. When couples and kin ask each other what kind of vehicle they should purchase in the new year, all eyes are on the ones with refreshes and updates. And why wouldn't they be? Some models happen to be more popular and see lots of love in the engineering departments for the New Year, and the Chevy Equinox is set to receive a mid-cycle update for 2021.
Even though numerous prototype models have been seen testing nationwide, official images of the 2021 Equinox sans cover and camo have not yet surfaced. Thanks to these images that were rendered via faithful follower Brandon L. Dejean, a very sharp and close look is now available. The stance overall as seen from the side feels more aggressive than the current model and sees a hefty amount of styling inspiration from the current Blazer. The updated fascia will bring the latest Equinox more up to par style-wise with the rest of the Chevy lineup, and sports two-tired headlamp housings that evoke the character of an urban daily driver with the ideal crossover SUV stance.

You'll find horizontally oriented tail lamps in the rear, and the cabin may see a minor update and new active safety features. Infotainment offerings, for the most part, will carry over from the current model, and heftily  on deck for power are an arsenal of turbocharged 4-cylinders, sporting the 1.5 LYX and 2.0 LTG within the ranks. All available engine types will be mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, and rumors of a high-performance model have been circulating.
Other great features such as autonomous braking at low speeds, Frontal collision alert, 4G connection, MyLink 2 Multimedia center with  an 8-inch screen, useful OnStar assistant, and Apple CarPlay, as well as Android Auto connectivity are also included in the list of reasons to sway some “mistletoe-laden sense” into any new buyer. Since some spy shots depicted a prototype with quad exhaust pipes, some in the industry think there could be an entirely new engine option, and the current unit nails  down 26 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway.

During the month of December, the current year's Chevy Equinox compact crossover SUV earned a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS, rated as “Superior” for avoiding  collisions at 12 mph, and overall reducing the impact of collisions during the 25 mph test. Our patented-and-proud powertrain warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles, and we guarantee that an Equinox as a New Year's surprise for anyone in your circle will offer up a budget-minded, feature-rich, and safe ride for many more happy holidays to come!
