1,000+ Horsepower Fuel-Injected Big Block Addition to 2023 Chevy COPO Camaro Deems it a Track-Scorching Monster

2023 COPO Camaro

Factory-built drag cars are not always the most familiar type of vehicle with customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse: even though so many things about them are not meant for everyday use, their sense of raw power in excitement is amazing! Chevy's factory built drag car is the COPO Camaro, and it's returning for 2023 with a huge screaming addition as its new sidekick. Thanks to more displacement and ingenious engineering, it is going to give the car a massive bragging right in the horsepower department compared to its outgoing 572 V8.

First introduced in 1968, the COPO Camaro quickly became a longstanding icon of pure power. Fred Gibb was a GM dealer and experienced drag racer who immediately had the full attention of GM’s higher-ups with his amazing creation. The most drastic change from then until now is that the COPO releases are no longer limited to just 69 models with a lottery system to navigate to allow for a deposit. The exterior of the 2023 model is nearly identical to the original, with an ATI Racing Products TH400 SFI-approved “Super Case” connected to an aluminum driveshaft.

Inside the rear end is a very lightweight steel spool and wheelie bar setup in place to prevent the rear bumper from dragging on the ground during launch. Each COPO Camaro comes with a carbon fiber hood, with the supercharged version boasting a parachute as a preventative measure and standard equipment. There are also options for a trunk-mounted weight box and dual batteries, which also both aid during the all-important launch process. The ZZ632 is the COPO 572’s burly engine replacement and is capable of a startling 1,004 horsepower and 872 lb-ft of torque.

This engine can spin 50 more RPM, while also sporting a new first gear ratio of 2.10:1 and second gear to 1.40. All COPO models also still use the ATI Racing Products Treemaster MRT 8-inch torque converter attached to an ATI SFI-approved steel flex plate. It is fuel injected and uses a 4-barrel style throttle body. We were also in complete awe of the American Racing headers, on board to properly exhaust the quickly spent gasses during the dash.

The absence of a supercharger also does not mean that the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak owners should not worry, as this is a hellish amount of raw power at their immediate disposal. This is all quite thrilling, and is the stuff that many true track hounds’ dreams are made of. If you are looking for something a bit more conventional, you’ll still love the standard 2023 Camaro here at the Powerhouse.

One way to assure plenty of thrills is with the very worthy 1LE Track Package, adding black-painted 20-inch wheels and satin-black exterior accents along with microsuede trim and Recaro front seats on SS models. Even the base-level 275-horsepower 4-cylinder is by no means slow, and the very gutsy 6-cylinder has a fantastic soundtrack. The standard six-speed manual transmission is definitely one of the features that maintain the ideal spirit for the driver, along with what is widely known as the best pony car feel on the planet!

KBB Hails 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV as “Best EV Under $35,000”

As the snow piles up heavily and holiday cheer is abundant here at the Mid Missouri Powerhouse, the 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV has now been around for two model years and has had quite the busy run stacking up awards and achievements. Now, its latest accolade is its new title as “Best EV Priced Under $35,000” by Kelley Blue Book.

Coming in for the ice and winter-themed escapades of the season as a slightly larger offering than the Chevy Bolt EV, the 2023 Bolt EUV made a great impression on the KBB staff with its roomy back seat and excellent build quality, along with affordable price and 247-mile driving range. Range has recently become as hot of an issue as the warm cider and cocoa of the holiday season, as avoiding the pain at the pump has become high on drivers’ wish lists for the New Year.

The number of choices for electric car shoppers continues to rise, and the competition is heating up. To decide the winner, KBB closely analyzed pricing, the five-year cost to own, and the all-important final sales numbers. To be considered, the vehicle must be considered brand-new or redesigned and have an incredibly strong value proposition to customers. The Bolt EUV has been busy scooping up awards since it was launched this year, and among them is the five-star National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Safety rating.

The Urban Green Car of the Year award officially certifies the Bolt EUV as one of the savviest eco-friendly vehicles for those living in the city, as it faced pretty serious competition in this segment from the Hyundai Venue and Kia Seltos. The Bolt EUV offers practical and tangible functionality and rides on the same BEV2 electric vehicle platform as the Bolt EV hatchback. Its single motor packs 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, efficiently boosting you from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.

The NHTSA provided Front, Side Barrier, and Side Pole tests, which the Bolt EUV passed with flying colors, earning the highest score administered by the agency. The presence of Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Automatic Braking also exceeds the NHTSA’s performance benchmarks and criteria.

The Car and Driver staff claimed that the “perky acceleration” and high-tech standard features were traits that led the Bolt EUV to be inspiring and one of the most sensible picks on the market today. During their 75-mph highway test, the Bolt EUV achieved 190 miles of range, with the 240-volt connection being the ideal choice for rapid at-home recharging. DC fast charging can give you 95 miles of range in a quick 30 minutes!

2024 Chevy Trax Deemed “Best Entry-Level Vehicle in Many Years”, Offering Desired Features at Reasonable Bargain

Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, when scores of customers come to pick out their next vehicle, we understand budget is a driving factor! Recent years have seen an uptick in higher-level features, and Chevy is no exception.

GM president Mark Reuss had some incredibly high praise for the new Trax model over the past week, publicly claiming that it “is the finest entry-level” Chevy to be released in many years. While many inquisitive eyes were on him at the recent GM Investor Day event, the upcoming product roadmap was fully revealed. So many successful plans in life-sized ventures have worked out regarding giving customers intense benefits at a low price point, and the Trax offers all of this with incredible individuality to boot.

After a personal test drive, he reflected that its youthful energy was infectious and that it was an excellent choice to be manufactured in high volume immediately. The 2024 Chevy Trax offers design language like the Chevy blazer crossover, but with harder angles, a large central grill, and thin upper lighting. The incoming model is lower, longer, and much wider than the previous model with wheel sizes at 17-, 18-, and 19-inch variants.

Inside, you get more than entry-level offerings from just about any other brand, as elevated standard safety and tech features are waiting along with a standard 8-inch infotainment screen. You can opt for the 11-inch screen in higher trims while enjoying other features such as the Chevy Safety Assist tech suit and Active Noise Cancelation. The power source is the 1.2-liter Inline-3-cylinder gas engine, now rated at 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque sending power to the front wheels.

In these images, you can see a firsthand look at this model painted in the Mosaic Black Metallic paint, and ideally decked out for the New Year in the 2RS outfit. Up front, you can see the effect of the dual-layer headlight arrangement found on other recently introduced Chevy products, and an RS-specific front grille along with a Black Bow Tie front-and-center. When this prototype was spotted stealthily roaming around in the wild and caught by a skilled photographer, the exhaust tips were tucked under the rear, with its telltale red RS badge on the passenger side of the liftgate.

The 2024 model now marks an important era here at the Powerhouse for this popular crossover’s second generation, boasting the same wide appeal across many demographics and a useful 12-percent increase in cargo capacity.

2024 Chevy Silverado HD Production to Begin Soon

The mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will feature revised exterior styling, a completely reworked cockpit, enhancements to the powertrain, and more. For those wondering when it will be available, assembly lines will roar to life during February 2023! Outside, the 2024 model will benefit from brand-new headlights, a new front fascia, grille, and C-shaped LED signature lighting.

Trims LT and above are given a completely overhauled cockpit, with a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and an all-new 13.4-inch diagonal configurable driver information center. You’ll be towing with the ice and snow-conquering strength of Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer, Enhanced Transparent Trailer, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and GCW alert. The Silverado HD boasts a trailering capacity of up to 36,000 pounds.

The powertrain is the burly 6.6-liter L8T V8 gasoline engine, with the option to switch things up with the 6.6-liter V8 LSP turbodiesel Duramax engine. The latter cranks out 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, which is a 25 hp and 65 lb torque increase over the outgoing model. Each engine is paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission, displaying unique superiority and function while replacing the six-speed that gas-powered models used previously.

You’ll be solidly handling daily duties with the patented front-engined and longitudinal layout, with assembly being handled by the trusty and hard-working men and women of the Chevy plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. VP of Chevy Scott Bell claimed that this HD model was “designed to be the customers’ favored choice for true truck capability,” and that the recent enhancements will bolster its dependable image even further. All these improvements ultimately complete a more confident feeling of on-demand power, whether you are attempting a tricky tow or not.

The main and high beams of the new LED lights are split into dual functions, and there is an awesome animated lighting sequence that welcomes or virtually waves goodbye at you from the truck. Another fantastic update that we know everyone will love is the Durabed cargo box that makes use of every square inch to boost maximum cargo capacity. The lineup also holds on to the popular Z71 sport edition, Z71 Chrome sport edition, and Midnight Special Edition appearance packages, as well as the superpowered Alaskan snow plow special edition.

A Dose of Trucklike and Ideally Sized Q4 Cheer: Next-Generation Chevy Traverse to see Full Release in 2023

2023 Chevy Traverse

All eyes here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse were on the GM Investor Day last week, which thoroughly details what direction Chevy will be headed for regarding release and development in the next few years. Upcoming vehicles and new technologies are discussed and presented, giving us a clear picture of what to report back to our customers regarding the vehicle beat next year. Here it was officially confirmed that GM is now working on the next generation of the Chevy Traverse crossover, with a scheduled launch next year.

It should arrive as a 2024 or 2025 model and will continue to ride on the GM C1 Platform, which is the signature support for the mid and full-size variants we love to provide and service here every day. The Traverse has built its massive appeal and popularity upon its three-row charm and sensible position in the middle of the market. The current 2023 Chevy Traverse is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LY gas engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 266b-ft of torque.

GM Authority also broke down the towing capacities of this popular vehicle, as many potential buyers are curious about the types of toys and useful equipment they can lug around during their downtime. The Trailering Equipment Package is the entry point for segment-leading capability in this department, as it increases the weight rating and adds a heavy-duty cooling system along with a trailer hitch. This package also includes hitch guidance with hitch view, a huge benefit to anyone hauling a form of precious cargo.

Traverse models that are equipped with the optional trailering equipment package offer a Max trailer weight rating of 5000 pounds. Those without it are rated at 1500 pounds. The 2023 model drew heaping praise from U.S. News auto review for its “peppy V6, room for up to 8, and awesome interior build materials.” Impressive across the board with a long list of standard tech and driver-assistance features, you’ll also love its ample passenger space in all three rows.

The V6 provides more than ample thrust, and returns admirable fuel economy, while the suspension keeps things comfortable and adaptable with changing terrain. As the holiday season is fully upon us, another popular addition is active noise cancellation, which provides some peace and quiet in the cabin while you're constantly on the move. Once rows two and three are folded down you'll be working with 98.2 cubic feet of cargo space, which is handy for a delivery side hustle or spur-of-the-moment IKEA run!

The Traverse has won so many over because of its large size, while other editions such as the red line edition package offer up black details and very cool red accents. New colors for this year include Radiant Red Tintcoat and Sterling Gray Metallic, while the LT Leather trim provides high-end comfort and convenience not found on the base LS model. Built by the hard-working and always dedicated workers in Lansing, Michigan, we’ll keep you posted on any updates regarding the design and release of America’s favorite mid size and festivity-ready SUV!

2023 Chevy Colorado Revels in 3rd Generation Holiday Goodness, 4WD Capability, Additional Active Safety Features

For many of our loyal customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, choosing the right truck is an important decision. The 2023 Chevy Colorado was officially unveiled in late July, revealing to the public the all-new third generation that will look fantastic wrapped and ready to go with a gift box bow! This year’s Colorado rides on the 31XX-2 platform, sporting an entirely new front end and the same appealing form and function that makes it stand out fiercely from the competition.

The 2023 Colorado also comes ready to keep up with the Polar Express itself, sporting an updated version of the GM 8-speed automatic transmission. There are also a great number of improvements adding convenience and utility. The standard engine offering is the turbocharged 2.7-liter I4 L3B gas model, and it is offered in three different types. One of the others is the mid-range 2.7-liter Turbo Plus, cranking out 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.

Diehard truck fans have been thrilled with the four-cylinder, and the range’s top-of-the-line 2.7-liter turbo high output is currently rated at 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Built right here in the show me state at the Wentzville GM plant, next year’s Colorado model has been influenced by the competition’s trail-focused offerings. Each version now uses a new chassis that stretches out the wheelbase by 3.1 inches, greatly improving the truck’s ability to navigate steep inclines.

The Consumer Reports staff were impressed with the switch to a four-cylinder platform, which will play a major part in bringing fuel-economy gains that are more attractive in the current market. Adding more advanced safety features will also attract many buyers who love to take on the challenges of the trail while consistently embracing the cautionary side. The exterior provides a few qualities that make it feel a bit like a scaled-down Silverado, providing a much closer visual connection than previous models.

The new Colorado’s bed measures 5 feet, 2 inches, with the ability to have longer items handled by positioning the tailgate halfway open. You'll have eight tie downs and the ability to add nine more to help secure cargo in the most efficient way possible. There are four stake pockets on the bed rails that allow for adding sidewalls or a ladder rack, making the tough job of a contractor that much easier day-to-day. Other great options that add a greater amount of flair to the Colorado include remote tailgate lock/unlocking, a 110-volt bed outlet, and a spray-on bedliner.

Gear Patrol Properly Outlines the Future of America’s Track-Tuned Icon: What Will the Electric Corvette Look Like?

All of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are aware that GM’s official plans for the future are to go all-electric by 2035. Getting this done will require some major changes, and some of the company’s most iconic vehicles will undergo a transformation from the very ground up. One of the most legendary vehicles from the Chevy lineup is the Corvette, and the Gear Patrol news team detailed what an electric Corvette might look like on their blog.

Upon its release, the all-new Corvette C8 presented enthusiasts nationwide with the chance to enjoy some of the most drastic changes of the vehicle’s history. The mid-engine setup and ditching of the manual transmission were just a small taste of the innovation to come. Next is supposed to be the Corvette E-Ray, which is supposedly going to add an electric motor to the Stingray’s V8, and will crank out about 650 horsepower. It will be the first hybrid and all-wheel-drive Corvette, and is anticipated sometime in 2023.

Rumors have also begun to spread about an all-electric motor that will eventually be featured in the Corvette’s powertrain mix. GM President Mark Reuss has recently stated that the company will eventually produce a Corvette EV that will ride on the Ultium platform, although any timeframe for that release is unclear. It is predicted that GM might mimic Ford’s strategy when it comes to the Corvette. In order to make sure that the classic Ford Mustang was available to new generations of drivers, the first electric Mustang that was released was the Ford Mach-E crossover.

For our esteemed Corvette line, there will reportedly be a 4-door sedan that will do battle with the Porsche Taycan, followed by an SUV version. The sedan could likely share a platform with the Cadillac Celestiq, but some other key elements of the big picture provide a few unanswered questions regarding how things will play out. Muscle Cars & Trucks along with Hagerty both speculate that they are not sure if we will ever see an all-electric version of the mighty and masterful Corvette. What could happen is that a C9 generation model could arrive sometime later during this decade, as either a standalone or an electric option.

With all the legwork involved to successfully implement and produce a dream machine such as this, some are wondering if GM will decide to offer two very different EVs. This would leave some time for those to reimagine the two-door coupe until the 2035 deadline approaches. The 2023 Corvette models are as exhilarating and enticing as ever, with the Car and Driver staff heaping on the praise for its “incredibly exotic performance and everyday ability.”

The energy-rich model that is now widely known as the easiest sports car to live with daily celebrates its 70th anniversary this year and offers up a unique and appealing commemorative edition. It can be ordered on both the convertible or coupe body style and offers up sweet enhancements such as red brake calipers, special exterior badging, and dark finish aluminum wheels. Don’t forget to check out the Adrenaline Red Dipped cabin theme, which brings the added touch of red upholstery for the door panels and dash!

2023 Chevy Traverse Leads Fiercely Competitive SUV Segment With Punchy V6, Well-Balanced Handling

The Chevy Traverse has done an excellent job of retaining loyalty and providing a solid large-sized family SUV over the years. We knew here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse this year that it was time to get a firmer grip than ever as a segment leader in the SUV category, and the 2023 Traverse has added some updates for 2023 that assure its appeal and useful stance as a daily driver in constantly changing times.

There are two new exterior colors in the mix, as Sterling Gray Metallic and Radiant Red Tincoat enter the selection assembly.  A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter become standard now on LT Cloth, LT leather, RS, Premium, and High-Country trim levels. The rest of what you see here is mainly carried over from last year's model, featuring the 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 paired 9-speed automatic transmission. All models come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is also available.

The US News auto staff praised the new Traverse for its winning combination of value and stellar performance, along with more than ample cargo space. With its peppy V6 and enough room for 8, there is a long list of driver-assistance features, plenty of passenger space in all three rows, and the awesome updates present on the 2022 model. These include refreshed exterior styling, more standard driver-assistance features, and wireless Apple CarPlay along with Android Auto.

When compared to the close relative in the form of the GMC Acadia, the Traverse gets a bit better gas mileage with its base-level engine, and a bit more accessible comfort in the front two rows of seats. The Traverse’s infotainment offerings are simple to use and all on a layout that makes sense, with bright graphics and reasonable response. Standard equipment includes a 7-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and 6 USB ports.

Available as extra are an 8-inch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, and the stellar jump in quality with the audio upgrade to the 10-speaker Bose audio setup. For the ultimate in comfort and proper weekend tailgating accessibility, you can opt for a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, universal garage door opener, a power sunroof, remote start, and 120-volt household-style power outlet. Few SUVs can come close to rivaling the cargo space the Traverse offers, with 23 cubic feet of room behind the third row, 57.8 cubic feet behind the second row, and a maximum capacity of 98.2 cubic feet.

The interior of the 2023 Traverse has an impressive quality of airy space and seats up to 8 people across three rows. Some of the upgrades we’d highly recommend making things stellar for the long haul would be leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats. We were front and center when Autotrader also claimed after their test drives that: “the extra space is very appealing to growing families, along with the Smart Slide seat that allows for simple and quick access to the third row.”

Get to Know the Silverado 1500 Trims Offering Wireless Apple CarPlay!

Our customers and Chevy drivers everywhere love just how much the interior comfort level has stepped up over the years. The truck shoppers of today are looking for connectivity features that are greatly enhanced, and frequently inquire about which trim levels will offer them the features they love most. The Motor Biscuit team cranked out a super cool blog last week that focused on the Chevy Silverado 1500, and which trims have the very savvy and productive additive of wireless Apple CarPlay.

This is the ingenious application that allows you to take your iPhone on the road with you and not miss anything that you’ve snagged up on your digital journey up to this point. With its seamless integration and the added benefit of Siri Eyes Free, you can easily enjoy everything your phone has to offer while driving safely. As more manufacturers have been making the sensible switch to this function, it has been growing in popularity and frequency of appearance. The 2023 Chevy Silverado comes in nine different trims, with the least expensive being the Work Truck model.

Up a level from the WT is the Custom trim, and then the LT and Trail Boss respectively. The RST, LTZ, and LT Trail Boss follow later, along with the High Country and ZR2. When properly equipped, the 2023 Silverado 1500 can tow upward of 13,000 pounds. The WT trim is the only one that does not include wireless Apple CarPlay as standard, but it’s still available as a viable option. Business Insider reported last month that Apple plans to roll out a game-changing update to Apple CarPlay in 2023, greatly expanding its capabilities.

On top of providing the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay, the 2023 Chevy Silverado also offers the short-range wireless connection capability of Bluetooth. Most models also come with a Wi-Fi hotspot, and the larger and larger screens that consumers are loving to appear with the option for a 13.4-inch touchscreen available on other trims. All 2023 Silverado trims also will come equipped with the means to provide a necessary and helpful watchful eye via Teen Driver, along with other advanced driver-assistance systems that include forward collision warning and automated emergency braking.

The High Country trim level also has access to Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driving technology that takes control of the wheel on properly dialed roadways. If Super Cruise senses that you are properly alert, you will be moving forward without having to steer, which brings about an entirely new dimension of how the cars of the future will provide ways to enjoy the ride and free your mind to prepare for your kids’ next long-awaited sporting event or business meeting.

Every bump, curb, and other obstacles you’ll encounter is scanned and anticipated by the hands-free driving system, which takes control of the wheel intelligently. We can’t wait to hear what great use you’ll make of your new Silverado: come down to visit us here at the Powerhouse and we’ll be happy to answer your questions and assist you with a test drive of the nation’s most durable and delicious Thanksgiving dinner-ready heavy-duty truck!

2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST Dominates Electric Landscape With Trigger-Happy 754 Horsepower

When we first learned of the 2024 Silverado EVs coming here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we were all excited to see just how much had changed since the many aspirational blueprints and concepts were floating around years ago. At the first opportunity to collect information about this silent-but-lethal heavy hauler, the horsepower output was estimated at 664, with more than 780 lb-ft of torque. We’ve just learned that this figure has been boosted (as will many customers’ morale!) to the tune of 754 hp and 785 lb-ft.

If these numbers are ringing a job site-ready bell for you, it’s because they were just listed along with the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali edition one which debuted last week proudly boasting the same output. Engineering teams hard at work have now successfully honed the performance specs for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition to this lofty weight while Wide Open Watts mode is engaged. These figures are just existing now as estimates, and they may change again before the RST reaches dealers such as us here at the Powerhouse.

The Sierra EV Denali Edition still has a bit of an extra weight tacked on to its anticipation factor and is not slated to arrive until early 2024. Both capable and contractor-ready trucks feature the same unibody design with the Ultium battery pack integrated directly into the structure, so transitioning between the two is a breeze. These ratings represent the absolute peak of power dutifully delivered while in certain drive modes and athletically sprints up to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

The Silverado EV WT delivers a still fully flexed 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, ready for any thoroughly demanding or much-needed recreational drive to the lake. The Silverado EV also now brings back the midgate, which aligns perfectly with our plan to have at least 40 percent of our models be EVs within the next three years. We have long known full well that the competition is waiting across the economically turbulent river in the form of the Ford F-150 lightning, the GMC Hummer EV, and the Rivian RIT.

When we reflect on the aesthetics and overall feel of this incoming and massively powerful EV truck, we have lots of future-embracing and things to ponder. GM has been quite light-handed in doling out details, which is understandable as the market is now changing every day faster than ever. The EV’s chassis is built around the very solid battery pack’s structure, with the body and bed joining for a very smooth visual effect. The front end is a bit on the shorter side, which adds visibility from the driver’s seat and offers more legroom for those in the back.

The Silverado EV will also feature a front-mounted “frunk” that is useful for storing extra closed storage, with the exact volume to be announced in news releases soon. Two electric motors can power each motor, and both models will offer 400 miles of after-school pickup, trick-or-treating fun, or fall sports range. There will also be 4-wheel steering to drastically improve handling, along with an adaptive air suspension system. A later arriving and heavily equipped fleet model will bump the towing capacity from 8,000 on up to a hefty 20,000 pounds.

2024 Chevy Trax Swings and Lands Above the Fences with Sensational Style, Segment-Leading Technology

The months just before the holidays here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are full of fun activities such as picking your chillingly favorite costume for Halloween, scoping out the deals on turkeys and pumpkin pie early in the game, and searching late at night online for Christmas gifts! All this need for extra planning and a capable vehicle to get you there has customers asking us which model coming soon would be best for them and their families.

The brand-new 2024 Chevy Trax is ideal for customers that are seeking the practical nature and efficient drive of a compact car, along with the innovative usefulness of an SUV. The incoming model is larger than the current Trax, offering up more valuable space for passengers and cargo, as well as well enriched features coming as standard. This is an entry-level vehicle that will easily prove its worth by supplying everything the driver needs, and “nothing you don’t.” extra new features on most trims include automatic climate control, push-button start, and wireless phone charging.

There are five distinctly different trim levels: the LS, 1RS, 2RS, and ACTIV all offer enhanced features and stellar new technology. Chevy Safety Assist offers up six advanced safety and driver awareness technologies, and LT, 2RS and ACTIV trims now come standard with an 8-inch diagonal system and 11-inch diagonal screen. Each trim features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, as well as LED headlamps and your choice of 17-inch, 18-inch, or 19-inch wheels.

Coming in as one of the lowest-priced SUVs out there on the market today, the 2024 Trax derives power from a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three engine serving up 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The standard and thoroughly recognizable Chevy bow tie is situated at the center of the grille, and brand-new headlamps feature very cool LED lighting elements. The RS Trim is one sweet spot in the lineup that is where the sportier side of things is celebrated, with additional sweet exterior trim accents, as well as an awesomely chiseled grill with an embedded RS badge.

The 1RS Trim includes 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels, and the new ACTIV comes with unique 18-inch wheels and a rear skid plate for the valuables on the underside’s ultimate protection. The interior was designed to convey a very lightweight feel, boating sweeping lines and a greater sense of outer space than the outgoing model. The display screens provide the perfect center focus for this high-tech design, with the infotainment screen tilted just slightly toward the driver.

The LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims have remote start for those cold Missouri mornings coming soon, and available sunroof for the opposite of winter driving conditions. The best and most magical time of year in the form of holidays that require a bit of extra drive time will be safely executed with the presence of Automatic emergency braking, Front pedestrian braking, Lane keep assist with Lane departure warning, Forward collision alert, Intellibeam auto high beam control, and following distance indicator.

2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban to Stake Their Open-Highway Claim with Added Bonus of Hands-Free Super Cruise

Many customers that are excitedly preparing for one of the busiest seasons of the year here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are understandably interested in the larger haulers of the SUV segment! Bringing all the family along for the fun with the addition of extra friends is the name of the game as far as the 2023 Tahoe and 2023 Chevy Suburban are concerned, and the bloggers on staff at GM Authority delivering the digital scoop to the masses just made an awesome announcement about both last week.

It has now been officially announced that Super Cruise will be available to order on both the 2023 Tahoe and Suburban, which is now an exclusive bonus on the Premier and High-Country trims. This futuristic and convenient feature that allows for hands-free operation on many of the nation’s highways is now included in the Advanced Trailering Technology Package, which already includes the enrichments of Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, HD Surround Vision, Head-Up Display, Rear Camera Mirror, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking.

This potent pair will still be offered with 3 powertrain options, including the 5.3-Liter V8 L84 gasoline engine, the 6.2-Liter V8 L87 gas engine, and the 3.0-Liter I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Each of these is mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive standard and 4-wheel drive available as an upgrade. The 2023 Chevy Tahoe easily won the approval of the Kbb.com auto staff, who praised it for its spacious cabin, Wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, engine choices, and the fact we agree wholeheartedly with that there’s “still a lot to be said for big SUVs built on truck foundations.”

The Tahoe also uses the ladder-frame construction from the Silverado, which is a huge help with the many demands of towing, and the space needed to haul a large family. Amazingly comfortable and now boasting even more cargo space, the Tahoe also provides the always on-point and superior ride quality that Magnetic Ride Control constantly works overtime to offer. Making sure that a long trip is thoroughly enjoyable instead of a grueling task, each of the available V8s is also ideal for the times when mountain roads are part of the plan, as the diesel engine provides the ideal low-end thrust.

The 2023 Suburban is widely known as one of the most capable family haulers on the market and is loved nationwide and right here at the Powerhouse for its potent engine selections, composed handling, and very simple-to-use infotainment setup. You’ll be boasting seating for 8 as those two extra-big holidays come hurtling towards us on the calendar, and its 1st-place value rings true with every refined driving dynamic you enjoy as your crew sprawls out during the trip. Last year’s model included more standard tech and safety features, the available digital gauge cluster, and the heightened availability of the 6.2-liter V8.

2023 Chevy Lineup to Provide Offerings for Every Appetite with Coming Z06, Colorado, and Blazer EV

The Car and Driver staff were hard at work delivering their always insightful and informative news features last week when the coming-soon Chevy lineup passed over their desktops once again, and they were thrilled enough to tell the public about the new and improved models on the way. A few of the exciting offerings in the works were the 670-horsepower Z06, a completely redesigned Colorado pickup, and an electric Blazer SUV.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 will make a return to its naturally aspirated roots with a hefty 670-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 that uses a flat-plane crankshaft and excitedly revs up to 8600 rpm. The official claim after testing is that it will pull 1.22 g’s on the skidpad, and all of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse look forward to confirming that thoroughly up close and in person!

Not only is it quite a bit wider than the regular Corvette Stingray, it also will sport larger air intakes and a very original-looking rear wing. This Z06 exists as a very hard-edged and more track-ready version of the Standard Vette, with bolder styling cues and quite a bit of extra performance juice to boot. The Z07 Performance Package adds a tuned suspension, superbly stopping Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, and high-performance Michelin Pilot Cup 2R ZP tires.

The Blazer EV will pack as much as 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque in the SS trim, with options for front-drive, rear-drive, and all-wheel drive. The entry-level 1LT model is said to deliver around 247 miles per charge, while the 2LT and SS trims are on track to boast 293 and 290 miles respectively. It will be capable of fast DC charging at up to 190 kW and add a very useful 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes. All models come with an extra-large 17.7-inch infotainment display that’s canted slightly toward the driver and a secondary 11.0-inch display with gauges and other vital driving info.

The Redesigned Chevy Colorado offers a completely modernized interior along with a powertrain that has undergone massive improvement, with the 2.7-liter 4-cylinder as the entry-level engine. The four-cylinders range from 237 to 310 horsepower, and the Trail Boss model effectively splits the difference between the Z71 and ZR2 off-road editions. The ZR2 mounts large MultiMatic DSSV dampers up front, with the rear DSSV’s mounted on the outside of the frame. The WT and LT trucks boast an open rear differential, while the Trail Boss and Z71 pickups boast the limited-slip unit.

The Suburban and Tahoe will now both have the hands-free Super Cruise and a black grille with “Chevrolet” lettering. We are all more excited than ever to take in the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, which evokes a classic vibe along with a large battery pack which is said to provide up to 400 miles of range per charge, along with DC fast-charging tech that can provide you 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The Trail Boss and RST trims are excellent ways to aim very high and get the most out of this solid EV model coming soon, and we are all standing by here at the Powerhouse to assist you in the process of selection and financing. We can’t wait to see you enjoy the exhilarating fun of driving your preferred choice off the lot and to its brand-new welcoming (with a day planner fully loaded for the fall!) home.

Chevy Turns up Competitive Heat With Blazer EV SS, Get A Close-Up Early Look!

Some EVs that we have become well-acquainted with here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse and are also offered nationwide have been built for pure function, and with the daily driver on a budget in mind. These are excellent options for anyone wanting to get from A to B via modern technology, but we have long known that competitors such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E have instilled a heightened sense of luxury and a sporty edge that a distinct group of savvy drivers is embracing.

The Blazer EV offers a great sense of purpose and Earth-friendly function but may lack a distinct breed of excitement for a very independent and “thrill of the road” loving driver that the new battery-powered Blazer EV is on track to offer. This is one of several exciting models that GM has arriving soon as we are aggressively on track to sell only battery-powered vehicles by 2035. The Business Insider team recently got a look at the sporty SUV and was on deck to show our readers how its exterior, interior, and other features will appear.

The Blazer EV will be available in several trim levels and have 3 different battery sizes to choose from. The SS is the top-of-the-line trim with 290 miles of range, two options for motors, and all-wheel drive. It promises to produce 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque and will exhilaratingly get from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. To properly handle all this power, the SS is the recipient of special brakes and a fine-tuned suspension setup, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y’s GT and Performance variants are two forms of competition are sights are directly situated.

After seeing these detailed and close-up photos, the Blazer EV SS initially appears very long, and also a bit lower than many other similar models on the market. Some have compared it to what “an aggressive and sporty station wagon” would look like, and all of us think that the rounded edges do a great job of smoothing out the “boxy” yet pleasingly modern initial visual impression. The SS model also gets the full-width LED light bar up front, along with a very cool illuminated Chevy badge. While the Blazer is rejuvenating power in charge mode, the light strip gradually fills up to properly display your current battery level.

The SS also displays a wicked blacked-out front end and a black roof, as opposed to the standard body-colored roof that is included with other models. This model also boasts the largest wheels of the lineup at 22 inches, and the charging port door comes out with a quirky mix of futuristic robotic looks and is quite a bit cooler looking than a standard gas tank. The cockpit features a very appealing 11-inch instrument panel that offers up all the vitals for the drive, and right next to it is a 17.7-inch touchscreen angled right at the driver.

There is a volume knob directly embedded into the screen, and SS models feature a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Super Cruise is also included, which is GM’s bravely executed and modern hands-free driving system, which blinks green when the driver is attentive enough for it to do its job. The red interior option offers up a fitting high-end touch for the interior, and rear passengers can make use of USB-C ports while they are enjoying the better-than-average legroom. We remember the Blazer from its original and very unique origins, and are impressed with the attitude and characteristic extras you’ll be constantly enjoying in this soon-arriving and full-of-flex EV!

2022 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss Lays Claim to the Brash Heavy Hauler + Perks of Google-Assistant Powered Cabin

2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss

The 2022 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss is one of those incredibly sought-after models here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse that boasts a tough and capable stance with its diesel engine, nicely lifted suspension, and mud-ready all-terrain tires. Truck lovers nationwide are being clued into the fact that the Silverado is loaded solid with very advanced technology, including a massive infotainment overhaul that is intelligently powered by Android and Google Assistant.

Last year’s Silverado boasted an 8-inch display, but this and the other gauges have now been replaced with the 13.4-inch Chevy Infotainment 3 system and the 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster. The Infotainment 3 system is based on Android Automotive OS and allows for the hassle-free integration of a variety of useful Google services such as the Google Play app store and Google Assistant voice commands. This system is conveniently baked into the hardware and can access onboard OnStar Services for valuable data, so it will work if you happen to hurry out the door without your phone.

You can quickly log into Google using the touch display, then retrieve suggestions for a destination, reminders for your lengthy to-do list, and other functions that are useful during the drive. The ability to easily install apps from the Play Store allows you to check out your favorite podcasts, music, and news along with other apps that can be downloaded and stored onboard.

The Google Assistant software will still work without a signal, by quickly tapping a button on the steering wheel or by simply speaking “Hey, Google”. Here you can quickly start phone calls, text messages, navigation destinations, or access Google Home smart devices and have full control of the Silverado’s well-integrated climate control. There is also a standard wireless phone charger here on the center console and the dashboard is stocked with USB Type-C and Type-A ports, along with a 120-volt AC inverter in the bed that is ideal for tailgating appliances and power tools.

The Trail Boss comes standard with 4-wheel drive, but you have the option of rolling heftily with any engine available for the 2022 Silverado, ranging from the 2.7-liter turbo 4-cylinder up to the 6.2-liter V8s. You’re also going to love everything “above and beyond '' about the Trail Boss Premium package: it adds the superior touches of leather trim, a spray-on bed liner, perimeter lighting, a power lift, and a release tailgate.

After introducing the Silverado EV and Blazer EV this year, Chevy’s exciting checklist of electric vehicle rollouts continues with a very important third introduction with the official announcement of the 2024 Equinox EV. We have excitedly told customers for months here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse that the arrival of this SUV was going to provide an affordable vehicle for modern families that solidifies a very confident and meaningful transition to electric power without making compromises.

As the turning point now becomes reality where the next generation of choice needs to be available at every pricing point, the 2024 Equinox EV possesses a strong sense of purpose and promise. This release officially begins the value proposition for Chevy to boast in the very relevant and popular compact SUV segment and adds greatly to an electric portfolio that claims an assortment of full-size trucks, midsize SUVs, and compact SUVs. The all-electric range is one of the most important factors that buyers are considering, as this is the final word on how far you can travel before the vital charging, and the 2024 Equinox’s 300 miles is an excellent value.

During the design process, engineers were keenly focused on the modern style, abundance of space, and vital safety qualities that made the standard gas-powered Equinox second to only the reigning Silverado in Chevy sales annually. As customers have continued to prioritize larger screens during the constant evolution of more functional vehicles, the 2024 Equinox EV arrives with an available 17.7-inch diagonal system that acts as the virtual command center for vital functions. As the Equinox progresses and changes along with the industry’s shift to electric power, its bold and futuristic appearance has stayed comfortingly recognizable.

Chevy has been solidly committed to making the EV transition very simple, including the convenience of available navigation and route planning through the MyChevy app, which provides the location for stations such as the 110,000 useful Ultium 360 which make the overall charging experience much easier. Here are some of the amazing and useful standard features that the Equinox EV will offer:

  • Following Distance Indicator

  • Forward Collision Alert

  • Front Pedestrian Braking

2023 Camaro Redline Package to See Lifted Constraints This Fall

We have some fantastic news from GM Authority about the Chevy Camaro, which saw its various design packages under severe constraints during the entire 2022 year.

This year, the Redline Edition was limited to about 20 percent of its usual output rate. Starting in October, the constraint will be lifted, and the Redline Edition will return to regular availability status. The Redline Edition package adds an awesome silver, black and red-themed touch that is available on the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, and 2SS trim levels. It is available with the Shadow Gray Metallic, Summit White and Black exterior colors, and includes this sweet additional equipment:

  • 20-inch Black-painted aluminum wheel with red accents
  • Black Camaro fender badge with red outline
  • Redline Edition graphics
  • Red seat belt color
  • Red knee pads

The performance-enhancing SS 1LE package also endured some issues while being under constraint for the 2022 Chevy Camaro and will arrive back in order books in full capacity for the 2023 model year. The engine options are all the best in the business as far as raw power and off-the-line aggro factor, including the turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 LTG gas engine, the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LGX gas engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2-Liter V8 LT1 gas engine, and the king of the hill: the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4 gas engine.

This is the car model that Edmunds.com billed as “the best driving muscle car hands down of its segment,” with thrilling rewards at each turn during every drive. Its sharp handling, class-leading acceleration, and smooth ride courtesy of the adaptive suspension are all part of its brutish and domineering charm that is keeping the muscle car segment alive. Most Camaro models will easily out-drag a Mustang by a large margin, while the brakes can get you stopped from your scorching pace in a hurry.

The V8 Camaro models have ideally stickier tires perfect for track handling, and even the base level suspension provides a quality ride. The EPA fuel ratings for the 22 Camaro now are situated at 18 city/29 highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Chevy Brand Leads Innovative Pack in J.D. Power 2022 Tech Experience Study

2022 Chevy Line-Up

Excited Show-me State residents looking to get a brand-new vehicle rely on the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse for information on how the nation's verified experts think Chevy holds up. With just a glance at monthly Internet articles and in-depth reviews, you will find countless awards and accolades that we must celebrate! This Summer, Chevy once again ranked above average for mass-market brands during the recent J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study, which is an in-depth indicator of reliability.

During this study JD power closely surveyed 84,165 owners of this year’s 2022 vehicles after three months of the drivers’ on-the-road experience. Those surveyed were asked to report the types of issues they've experienced with advanced technology features in their car, crossover, SUV, or truck. The “PPV100” score was used to report how their model shaped up against others. Chevy’s “Innovation Ranking” score of 471 was substantially higher than the industry average of 469, and the incoming variety of EV technology options rank among the top five most desired features in the U.S.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV and Blazer EV have both just seen their arrival dates officially confirmed. Also found during the study, was that a smartphone-sourced digital key is among the top three desired advanced vehicle technologies right now. After repeatedly coming in strong with a superior advantage over other brands, there are so many different models to choose from that all offer class-leading warranty coverage, awesome exteriors, and the best engine lineup in existence!

The 2022 Chevy Traverse always finishes with its unique form of take-charge authority armed with its standard V6, seating for 7 or 8, and midsize stature that is usefully on the larger side. This year active safety systems have become standard, as well as the front and rear fascias seeing a thorough refresh. The Traverse fares amazingly well with the current rivals at the heart of the family-SUV market and wins new drivers over every day with its larger size and segment-leading capacity.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado stakes its consistent claim as America’s favorite pickup time and time again, and offers up an extra-long cabin, awesome and easy-to-use touchscreen, and several available engines that all live up to their hype. This year there is a new ZR2 off-road version that just debuted, and the addition of Super Cruise, Chevy’s amazing semi-automated hands-free driving technology. The midrange LT trim is an excellent sweet spot for the lineup, offering up a great balance of affordable price to practical and modern features. This is the rig that snagged the “Best resale value” in the full-size pickup category from KBB.com, solidifying its long-term dependability and clout.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer now has a two-tone roof available on the LT edition and RS trim, as well as a refreshed look on Premier, with new wheels, rockers, and wheel moldings. The Trailering Package now comes standard for 2.0-Liter equipped models, and standard with AWD and FWD. Consumer Reports praised the Blazer this year for being among the “Most reliable midsized Utility Vehicles”, along with a predicted reliability score of four out of five. This year's Blazer’s acceleration, braking, transmission, quiet cabin, and its superior handling all were factors in these outstanding achievements!

2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison Honed to Ultimate Trail Guide with AEV’s Expertise

2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison

The majestic and jaw-dropping scenery at Yellowstone leads to a memorable trip, with photographers, hikers, and over 4 million wilderness enthusiasts worldwide flocking there annually. After being hunted with so much a fervor that it was nearly extinct, the American bison has now been spotted more frequently roaming here, impressing all the park’s occupants with its stability and lay of the land. Here at Mid Missouri Powerhouse, we love our very own common sighting of the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison, and the fact that its own population is about to double in size.

The new Silverado was expertly developed by the off-road specialists at American Expedition Vehicles: These are the ones you can trust with every nook, rut, rock, and boulder that could ever show up in your path. The existing ZR2 already comes locked and loaded with the best brush protection as the five underbody skid plates, rocker-panel protectors, and replacement front and rear stamped-steel bumpers are up for the damaging elements you come across frequently in the wild.

These sturdier bumpers allow for steeper approach and departure angles, and you’re already sailing ideally headstrong with a ground clearance of 11.2 inches. The new Bison also boasts a tweaked body-colored grill bar and a matte-black panel on the Multi-flex tailgate, in addition to custom AEV and Bison badging for the interior and exterior. With this truck there is plenty to be excited about when you are planning a trip to nearby off-road spots here in Missouri such as Flat Nasty off-road park of the Ozarks: here you’ll be greeted with 850+ Acres of rugged land to explore.

All these skid plates and extra protection will definitely get some use at this primo local-area playground, as well as the exclusive 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. While the rivalries fester in the competitive models of the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison’s specific drive mode settings for rock crawling should keep it appropriately ahead and on top of other archrivals. You’ll also be guaranteed to navigate deep enough into the wild to make good use of the recovery points, adding a practical solution if you ever find yourself needing a strong-armed pull.

There are still fairly solid rumors of an upgraded Duramax diesel engine arriving just in time for the 2023 model year, and potentially paired with the delightfully lethal ten-speed automatic transmission. While some firm critics may claim that the ZR2 doesn't have quite enough expert-grade off-road chops to cut it in the extreme wild, examples from AEV Outfitters in the past have absolutely proved otherwise. We’ll keep you posted here on the blog about other developments regarding this off-road beast and wish you all the best during your search for the perfect vehicle right here at the Powerhouse!

2023 Chevy Colorado Combines 3 Trim Levels for Fierce Finished Product

2023 Chevy Colorado

The amount of admiration for trucks is always at a high level here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, where the demanding landscape around us can require a hauling and towing machine that also provides class-leading comfort! When anyone interested in all the great abilities of a truck has wanted to scale down slightly in size, the Chevy Colorado has always filled the gap and offered up tons of fun. The 2023 Chevy Colorado is on track to seek and destroy new terrain with its new revised exterior, overhauled cabin, and a brand-new powertrain.

GM Authority provided the exciting news about the details, and offered up these photos of the new model dipped in stealth black paint. There were a few things about it that didn’t quite make sense, and are worth investigating: up front, there is a fascia that has undergone a flat-black treatment with silver-painted bumper garnish, which was a feature usually seen on the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. The grille is also sporting a Z71 badge, and the headlights are the halogen variety that is common on the WT, LT, and Trail Boss trim levels.

From the side view, 18-inch wheels with a black finish are evident, which initially seems the norm for the 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boston Z71 trim levels. But here it was noted that the Z71 and trail boss decals are absent from the flanks, as well as the rear end sporting an LT badge on the tailgate. Even though there appears to be a combination of many trim levels’ elements sprinkled in a formula that was already winning in our book, this model still looks striking with the black paint and slightly redone exterior features.

This coming model also will have a brand new fully overhauled cabin space, sourcing power from a 2.7-liter inline 4-cylinder L3B gas engine, available in three different tuning levels. The package has made it to the second generation GM8 speed automatic transmission and rides on the 31XX-2 platform. This mid-sized and well-rounded truck is going to be assembled right here in the show-me state at the GM Wentzville factory. While out on the scene, another 2023 Colorado model was just spotted by GM Authority roaming the wild in glacier blue metallic paint and sporting a class black sports grill along with black bow tie badging.

Car and Driver reported that there will be an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen added as standard equipment, also claiming that the Colorado now has the advantage over the aging competition of the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Honda Ridgeline. The incoming Colorado continues to use an independent front suspension with a solid rear axle and leaf springs, and the ZR2 mounts trusty Multimatic DSSV dampers up front. You’ll also be working with the most towing in the mid-size pickup segment, with a max capacity of 7700 pounds, which is more than the Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and Jeep Gladiator.

Chevy Silverado Named “Most Considered Non-Luxury Vehicle” for 2nd Quarter of 2022 by Kelley Blue Book

2022 Chevy Silverado Lineup

All of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse have been enjoying the power and convenience of the Chevy Silverado 1500 all summer: there’s nothing quite as satisfying as throwing all your gear and camping equipment in the bed and heading out into the wild! The experts on duty at Kelley Blue Book and Cox Automotive heaped yet another large honor onto the Silverado’s shoulders this past week, officially claiming that it was the most-considered non-luxury vehicle during Q3 of the 2022 calendar year as consumers opened their laptops for research, and prepared for test drives!

In its recent Q2 2022 Brand Watch report, Kelley Blue Book crunched the numbers regarding which models consumers were considering purchasing in various segments and categories. Established in 2007, the latest study includes both mobile and desktop users, which just became standard protocol this year. This provided for a much higher response rate, and a group of respondents more representative of the true American consumer. Our esteemed Chevy Silverado 1500 beat out the Ford F-150 for the top contender as the most considered model.

While we were enjoying the pristine blue lakes and explosion of awesome fireworks during the 4th of July, GM Authority reported the news that customers with a huge need for speed can satisfy their urges courtesy of the new SC250 Package upgrade from Callaway, sporting a Ten Three TVS R2650 Supercharger System with associated TripleCooled Intercooling. This very powerful combination most definitely is logged under our “non-luxury” category here as well, also leaving the truck in a favorable fuel economy bracket. There are other sweet upgrades to this package including billet pedals, black exhaust tips, and 20-inch Callaway wheels.

Offering an upscale and comfortable cabin, robust engine performance, and a good amount of advanced tech and safety features, the Silverado’s composed handling has made it the favorite of powertrain connoisseurs worldwide for years. We sure are long-time admirers of the turbodiesel straight-six, and its well-known penchant for doling out torque that seems to come from a supernatural source! Thanks to some major updates, the Silverado now boasts an even more upscale cabin with some of the best tech and driver assistance features in the segment, including the futuristic and very intelligent addition of Super Cruise.

An incredibly adept workhorse and a very well-rounded daily driver, the 2022 Chevy Silverado is obviously faring quite well against the competition, as many other publications and blogs have doled out praise for its appeal. We feel that the gap has been narrowed with a ferocious blowback against the Ford F-150 concerning the Silverado’s latest enhancements, and the ZR2’s off-road chops are a bit more aligned with what we feel is a superior advantage and personality over the Raptor. The Silverado has been recognized by some of the savviest in the industry for its light and responsive steering, and consistently stable feel when engaged on a highway cruise!
