New Spy Shots Give Us The Best Look Yet At Chevy's 2018 Corvette ZR1

The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is headed our way soon and these new spy photos have peaked our anticipation. The now barely-covered road car is without a doubt going to be the brand’s best yet.

So far, every test vehicle we’ve gotten a look at has featured heavy camouflage, so we were unable to grasp the true silhouette of the ZR-1… until now. The new photos show a bulging hood and revamped front end, complete with three large intakes and a massive splitter. The rear is equipped with a huge wing and spoiler.

Considering the larger hood, it is likely that the supercharger of the ZR-1 will be larger than the 1.7-liter version of the current Z06. It is also likely that this bad boy will bust out more than 700 horsepower, but we’ll have to hold off until the Detroit Auto Show in January to find out for sure.

‘Vette fanatic or not, we know you’re just as excited as we are. In the meantime, be sure to stop by and see us at Mid Missouri Powerhouse in Jefferson City, MO! We would love to help you find your new car!

Chevy Took Home A Record 18 Awards Last Week

According to the latest Chevrolet news, they’ve had a pretty good week. Led by the all-new Bolt EV, which won five awards on its own, the brand scored an overall total of 18 awards in automotive and consumer media rankings this past week- a record for Chevy.

The Bolt EV, offering 238 miles of range on a full charge earned a spot on the 2017 Car and Driver 10Best Cars list, in addition to being named “Best New Car to Buy” by Green Car Reports, “Green Car of the Year” by Green Car Journal and “Best EV” by Car Connection.

“The Bolt EV is the newest example of how Chevrolet is driving the industry with leading technology matched with great design and the connectivity that makes customers’ lives easier,” stated Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “We’re innovating like never before with more choices for every need and these awards affirm the depth, breadth and value offered by Chevrolet’s lineup.”

To add to the awards, the Camaro 1LE was positioned on the Car and Driver 10Best Cars list for the second year in a row. The Corvette also made this list for the third time in four years.

Finally (we’re running out of breath), Consumer Guide Automotive awarded six Chevy vehicles with “Best Buy” honors and the Impala and Tahoe each received back-to-back Kelley Blue Book Best Buy award recognition in their respective categories.

Needless to say, we’re pretty proud of Chevrolet’s success, especially over this past week! Be sure to stop by Mid-MO Powerhouse to check out and test drive any of these award-winning vehicles for yourself!

The Colorado ZR2 Is Headed This Way And Ready To Hit The Trails

Off-roaders of Jefferson City… The Colorado ZR2 is coming soon and we can’t wait to get behind the wheel! This desert-ready performance truck will without-a-doubt reset the bar for off-road trucks, featuring more off-roading technology than any other midsize pickup in its segment.

Offering a much wider track and lifted suspension than the standard Colorado, the ZR2 is built for better performance over rocks and other obstacles. The front and rear bumpers have been revamped for better off-road clearance. Other features, which are exclusive to this truck, include front and rear electronic locking differentials, an available diesel engine and the Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) damper technology.

“Our engineers have been incredibly successful developing Corvette and Camaro performance variants with broad performance envelopes,” stated Mark Reuss, executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain. “The ZR2 applies that same philosophy to off-road performance. You can go rock crawling Saturday, desert running on Sunday, and comfortably drive to work on Monday. This truck can do it all, and do it all well.”

Dying to take this bad boy out on the trails? We are too. It’s headed into Mid-MO Powerhouse very soon, so be on the lookout!

The All-New 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to make it’s public debut at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. With tons of changes coming along with it, this highly-anticipated SUV is expected to hit the market in the beginning of 2017. The new design, added safety features and all-new propulsion systems will all work together to do the one thing a vehicle should do- meet every need of drivers and their passengers.

“The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is a modern SUV sized and designed to meet the needs of the compact SUV customer,” stated Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “We’ve got the strongest truck business in the industry and we’ve reinvigorated our car lineup with Volt, Cruze and Malibu. Now we are focusing on growing our crossover/SUV business, starting with the Chevrolet Equinox.”

The exterior of the 2018 Equinox has been totally revamped. Sleek, muscular lines and subtle details give the vehicle an overall richer image. Chrome trim has been added, in addition to projector-beam headlights and defining taillamps.

Inside, you will find the down-and-away instrument panel and lower windshield base- which offers impressive outward views. It also features Chevy’s latest technologies, like the MyLink infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Active safety features have been added, as well, such as the New Safety Alert Seat, New Rear Seat Reminder, New Surround Vision and Teen Driver technology.

Lastly, a range of three turbocharged engine options have been added so that buyers can have more say when it comes to performance, efficiency and capability of their Equinox. These include a 1.5L turbo, a 2.0L turbo and a 1.6L diesel.

We’re excited for this one… so we’ll keep you posted on its arrival to Mid-MO Powerhouse in Jefferson City, MO!

Here's What You Missed At The 2016 SEMA Show

The 2016 SEMA Show took place last week and Chevy took it upon themselves to not only show off their impressive concepts, but to also celebrate the Camaro’s 50th anniversary. Since you most likely didn’t make it out to Vegas to check out the show for yourself (but if you did- props to you!) we put together a list of a few of the vehicles you missed out on.

2017 Camaro SS Slammer

As a lowered, road-hugging one-off, this Camaro was designed to take the Gen 6 Camaro’s proportions to the extreme. It was introduced at the show by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chevy showed it on its stand all week .

Chevelle Slammer

With the same lowered look as the Camaro SS, the Chevelle Slammer was designed to mock the original. “The ‘69 Chevelle is one of the best-looking cars of the muscle-car era, and we didn’t want to mess with its classic cues,” stated designer Humberto Ortiz.

Silverado HD Alaskan Edition concept

This awesome concept was a hit at the Chevy preview. The Alaskan Edition 2500HD features a huge stainless-steel custom snow plow, which showed off the company’s snow-plow prep package. The concept builds on the existing Alaskan Edition offered on the 2017 Silverado HD Work Truck and LT but has a few additions- like the silver-accented blue exterior, grizzly bear graphics and chrome bumper grilles.

Trax Activ concept

The Trax Activ concept is a lifted, widened and accessorized version of the production Trax. It features 18-inch wheels, front and rear clips and is all about adventure.

As you can tell, the 2016 SEMA Show turned out to be a success for Chevy… and we’re sure you want to get your hands on some of these concepts just as much as we do. Since we (unfortunately) can’t, we hope you’ll visit us at Mid Missouri Powerhouse in Jefferson City, MO to check out our current Chevrolet lineup!
