Mid-Missouri Holiday Travel watch: What is causing Parents the Most Stress on the Road?

As many scores of drivers prepare to hit the road for Thanksgiving and holiday travel, a new survey conducted by Harris Poll reveals the issues that are stressing parents out the most. 1,063 United States Parents of children under 18 were surveyed, to explore the general state and mood of the American family holiday road trip. As traffic levels are going to be significantly boosted during the 2017 holidays, parents claimed that in-car technologies can improve the driving experience by making the long hours quite a bit more bearable.

New options such as the Chevy Traverse can provide parents a means of peace and quiet, by having Wi-Fi and internet connectivity available, and bolstering it to the top of wish lists for road-trip ready options. Steve Majaros is the director of marketing for Chevy, and he claimed adamantly that “As families prepare to hit the road this holiday to spend time with friends and family, they can depend on crossovers like the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse and Equinox to meet their needs”. Its the extras like more USB outlets, ample storage space, and available 4G LTE with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility that make what was once deemed a cramped space a place for kids to be entertained, and pass the time in complete comfort while on the road.

In many ways, the new traveling vehicle is the family dinner table, where you can create firm bonds as well as create memories that last a lifetime. 93 percent of American families still say that they enjoy road trips with their family, and we were glad to see these results. It's just the extra additives that you will love to have along for the ride that will make it stand out: 56 percent of parents claim that having Wi-FI drastically helps their trips become more enjoyable. It was also discovered that nearly 3 in 10 parents who take family road trips who do not have Wi-Fi in their car say that they would be more likely to take longer trips if they did.

Chevy was the first automaker to offer 4G LTE Wi-Fi on its cars, and since 2015, has offered Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as features in most of its lineup, ultimately helping families stay as connected as possible. 2019 ZR1 Corvette Images Leaked; Aggressive Stance Appears to be Upped

Sometimes leaked photos appear in the more obvious of places, and give us ideas about what the future in the auto industry holds. The 750-horsepower Chevy Corvette ZR1 has definitely been long awaited, and what appeared to be the exact prototype was displayed on a recent Car and Driver cover, in all-orange. First impressions we gathered were that this car looks drastically more aggressive than the current Z06: you have a much bigger hood vent, redesigned bumper, giant rear wing, and side skirts. Appearing more powerful and refined right off the bat, what you see is a fast car that can definitely be “for anyone”, in many different ways.

Corvette continues to grow heavily in popularity in the Middle East, which made Dubai a sensible choice for the flashy and furious new car's debut. A location on the globe quite different than our locale here at Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, this is a place where the tallest buildings, wealthiest sheikhs, and oil profits swim together in bountiful bliss. Back here at home, we recognize that the vibe may be a bit more rustic, and we love it that way. There are nonetheless customers that are so excited about this release that they just keep asking us about it, and we were definitely getting the jitters while waiting to post the photos and news on the blog.

The car goes on sale this spring, and GM has said they will make 2-3,000 of them at the location in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The new model comes with GM's 6,2-liter pushrod small-block V-8, and keeps the Corvette's traditional overhead valve makeup. Just when fans of this iconic vehicle thought that its engine couldn't stir together any more power, GM is claiming it will be rated at 755-hp, and 715-lb-ft of torque. A few who have test driven it in Dubai and here in the States have confirmed that the ZR1 possesses the ability to make the Z06 feel sluggish, and at a glance, it appears that could be very true.

Futuristic fans will appreciate how a quick glance at the nose can remind one a bit of a Lamborghini, and mixes that very new breed of charm with an all-American legend. Mark Reuss is the executive VP of Global Product Development, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, and he adamantly claims that “I've never driven a Corvette like this before, and nobody else has either, because there's never been one like this before”. There are many purists who may not appreciate how this new Corvette has a bit of a feel like a “Tokyo Drift” contender, and may seem a bit flashy, or even obstructionist. We love our big trucks here at the Powerhouse, but the high-line sportscar genre still excites us, and we are closely watching the arrival of the powerful and thoroughly pumped-up ZR1!

The Chevy Colorado ZR2 AEV: Ready to Map a Mid-Missouri Off-Road Adventure

New territory is one of the most exciting promises of the new year: there is nothing quite as exciting as breaking out the maps and GPS, planning lure and tackle boxes, and seeing perfectly warm flannels and boots waiting for you to pack. As depicted in the Netflix series “Ozark”, the terrain we love living in really is a truck owner's Nirvana. Clear blue lakes, off-the-beaten-path trails for miles, and endless locations where a sedan would never cut it are what it's all known for. Having an able truck in this neck of the woods is just about as necessary as wearing a jacket during winter, and any new concept pickup gets us perking up our ears here at Mid-Missouri Powerhouse.

The well-versed Jeep and Ram modification specialist has teamed up with Chevy to build a concept off-roader, and it will have many elements of the beloved Colorado ZR2 pickup. The tan truck was revealed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and features freshly-engineered suspension, and driveline components that boost a 1.5-inch overall lift. There is now room for 35-inch tires, firmly mounted to a set of AEV beadlock rims. AEV-designed front and rear off-road bumpers cover the entire underbody, as well as skid plates that can handle the brunt of nearby locations such as Rush Springs Ranch, or Brick's Off-Road Park.

You'll love the unique grille that replaces Chevy's bowtie emblem: the Chevy logo is now written across it, and there are similarities to the Ford-F-150 Raptor and Toyota TRD Pro Trucks. Cool accessories like a portable ARB refrigerator are stuffed into the expedition rack, which you'll notice is trustily mounted to the bed. There are also built-in very useful features like auxiliary power, air compressor, and fresh water system are all easily accessible through a panel on the right rear fender. This is all part of the reason for mounting excitement we have about this arrival: it is great to see how modern technology is giving manufacturers the ability to equip the outdoorsmen and women who love them.

With the AEV, you are really getting an off-road safari contender, which is perfect for just the quick jaunt out to a rock climb session. The name of the game is being almost overly-equipped: when you gaze at this truck, you are checking out a beast that is ready to jump right off the line and run up the side of a mountain, while housing all of the supplies and necessities to pitch it and stay all night. With a monster like this, you could have the most exciting combination of work and play that exists: hauling and remodeling all day could quickly turn into spur-of-the-moment trap shooting, or capturing some killer drone footage of your next projects' location. We are right here in Lynn waiting to guide you on your next truck purchase, and can't wait to release more news about arrival dates for a bad boy such as this!

Minivan, Meet SUV: 2018 Traverse Combines Both Elements With Stunning Success

Where we are situated in the gorgeous Show-me State, we have good reason to love our trucks. Hauling, towing, tearing down, and spittin' mud are all favorite pastimes here, and the quintessential truck is a much needed and celebrated vehicle here and around Lynn. But SUV's have also risen drastically in popularity as of late, and are very functional and practical vehicles for the urban areas and back country to boot. The redesigned 2018 Chevy Traverse is a crossover that offers the convenience of a minivan, with the looks and flavor of an SUV.

This is its first major revamp within the last nine years, and it grows nicely into its role as a midsize crossover, even after shedding 350 noticeable pounds. You're going to love how it feels a bit like the Suburban and Tahoe, and the character is a bit more rugged after adding a wider grille. Some of its major competitors are the new VW Atlas and Honda Pilot, and the Traverse has more than a foot greater length to boast about. This added length gives passengers in the second row more space, and the third row can fit two adults.

The first thing you notice in the second row is how safety features collide perfectly with minivan-style convenience. There is a sliding seat that tilts forward, so a front-facing child seat stays still while third-row passengers come and go with ease. Up to 7 USB ports, available wireless charger, and a power lift gate button on the driver's door to open the gate at various heights are all additives that will make any excitable fleet get there in style. There's even an unlimited data plan: $20 / month will scoop up for you tons of streaming movies and music for your traveling companions, over a 4g wi-fi hotspot.

The Infotainment system in a Chevy is the best that exists for mainstream makes, and the touchscreen is actually not put to use much, thanks to high-fidelity voice commands and steering wheel controls. Ask us how opting for the top-of-the-line Premier trim will cushion the interior with black, soft-touch materials, and add to the comfort as well as appearance. You'll have no trouble blasting happily around the outer edges of town, with a 310-horsepower V-6 engine that is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Many test drivers have been surprised by the overall quiet of the Traverse when in full-op mode, and we urge you to check it out ASAP: you'll be pulling down around 27 mpg on the highway, and will have plenty of time to decide whether it feels more like an SUV or minivan later!
