Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Prototypes Spied “Reveling in the Rough Stuff” To Perfect Handling, Off-Road Mastery

“Fully ready for dirt duty” is just the way that customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse want their trucks. Luckily for them, writers at GM Authority say two 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss prototypes are up to the task.

Both of these 2022 prototypes were spotted navigating steep climbs and hazards offering plenty of water and mud as a challenge. These are the regular Trail Boss models, equipped with traditional front bumper treatment and plastic air deflector. Earlier this year, the Silverado ZR2 trail model was also testing in Michigan and Northern California. This dirt-road-ready model is expected to come fully equipped with MultiMatic DSSV dampers and is expected to launch in 2022 or the following year.

Why is the Trail Boss trim so popular? It perfectly combines the Z71 off-road package with a fine-tuned off-road suspension, two-inch suspension lift, skid plates, Hill Descent Control, a two-speed transfer case, trailering package, black-painted aluminum 18-inch wheels, and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. A revised center stack, dash, and center console are also in the works to give the cabin a breath of fresh air, and the Super Cruise technology may be coming soon as well.

As trucks have grown in popularity over the last year, off-roading has become a major priority. If you have been dreaming of dominating any rough terrain, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss may be just what you are after. The freedom of leaving the pavement is exciting, raw, and available. Adventure is calling, and the Trail Boss is coming to pick up the phone.

2022 IMSA GTLM Champion Special Edition Corvette Stingray Introduction

When the mid-engined Corvette C8 was released two years ago, everyone on staff here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse was in complete awe. It had taken so many years and so many different ideas on the drawing board to finally make it happen, and the result was an instant hit, to say the least: the most professional car writers and enthusiasts all over the world were impressed with its performance, handling abilities, and game-changing bang for the buck.

As notable and mile-marking as the release was, new editions are always bound to make crucial changes, and special editions have long been a great way for diehard fans to mark the model with unique flair and personality as all their own. The 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition pays tribute to Corvette Racing's photo-finish season last year. Seeing a production of just 1,000 units, these cars commemorate the season that Corvette Racing took the Driver, Manufacturers, and Team titles during the IMSA sportscar championship series.

These specifically-honed beauties are all done up in a prime fashion to look like the no. 3 and no. 4 Corvette C8.R race cars, offering a way for everyday Corvette enthusiasts to simulate the excitement felt during every lap around the track every time they get behind the wheel. The Accelerate Yellow editions feature placid gray graphics, while Hypersonic Gray no. 4 editions feature yellow accents. Outside you'll see the additional touches in the vein of a high wing spoiler with a salacious Carbon Flash, yellow brake calipers, black Trident design wheels, splash guards, yellow brake calipers, and black lug nuts with side rockers.

Inside you'll be sitting in GT2 seats along with cool yellow seat belts and a plaque commemorating the C8.R's special numbered edition. Each car comes with its own custom-fitted indoor cover showing the C8.R's stance, and you can also find Competition Sport seats to up the celebratory theme just a notch as if you would when cornering on the inside and wondering if your flanked riders will attempt to make that risky pass! The standard Corvette Stingray lineup will see three new exterior colors for the year, Hypersonic Gray, Caffeine, and Amplify Orange Tintcoat.

There's also a rear spoiler boasting a much lower rear profile, with the traditional Z51 front splitter offered on non-Z51 models. The very potent and thrill-prone Stingray's LTC 6.2-L V8 now receives an upgraded direct injection system and improved calibration on the engine for off-the-line excellence. Every coupe model now comes with a removable roof panel that you can quickly stash in the rear trunk, and the dual cargo compartments still wave their own form of an automotive wand to offer up 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume.

2021 Silverado 1500 Brings Next-Level Road Capability, Enhanced Cargo Bed, Ultimate Cure For the Summertime Blues

When the “Summertime Blues” song was written many decades ago, the lyricist was lamenting about how the long, hot days became lonely, and for many younger people, there wasn't much to do. This year, many are going to beg to differ, as a sense of freedom here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse and nationwide is prevalent. Editors and writers on staff at the Covington Reporter set to the task of test driving a brand-new 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Custom Trail Boss four-wheel-drive pickup truck, and were immediately impressed with its fun factor and awesome technology features.

Other available trim levels are WT, LT, RST, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, and High country, with each providing specific features that will ideally fit your unique needs and driving habits. The Silverado has become popular for so many reasons and having many various bed sizes and cab variations to choose from has made a huge difference on those just now coming around and deciding that a truck is right for them.

Available engines range from 2.7-liter Turbo, 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel, 5.3-liter V8, and 6.2-liter V8, which is what the test drive team from the CovingtonReporter opted for. The variable valve timing direct-inject engine with dynamic fuel management and stop/start was paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, ultimately delivering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is is a collective and capable power force that boasts a towing ability of 12,100 lbs, which is enough to lug along many different kinds of toys that make the trip to the lake or off-road trails that much more exciting.

After feeling trapped in the confines of the cubicle for an entire week, there is nothing quite as liberating as opening up the throttle on a two-stroke bike or jetski, and catching up on the allotments of fresh air that so many of us had missed out on during a strange and upside-down time. We encourage hard core outdoor enthusiasts to take a close look at the Trail Boss, as it takes the brand's name we love to represent so much to the next level of off-road capability with its two-inch suspension lift, Rancho monotube shock absorbers, high-quality air filter, skid plates, hill descent control, and automatic rear locking differential.

Silverado customers will also get to enjoy the multi-flex tailgate with its six unique functions, allowing for easier access to the cargo in the bad, enhanced loading solutions, and the ultimate workstation that you can use to stand and get things done digitally while enjoying the  benefits of a large and capable truck in the wild. With safety being a concern that resonates in every new truck cabin this summer, the Silverado is well-equipped with rear vision camera, teen driver mode, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, and well-equipped driver information center.

2021 C8 Corvette Convertible Celebrates 18th Outing As Prized Pace Car During Indy 500's Summer Sizzle

After blowing the minds of many car experts who were eagerly waiting for the first mid-engined Corvette to debut two years ago in a California hangar, the rabid excitement and amazing performance of the C8 lives on this summer! During the legendary Indianapolis 500 last weekend, the C8 enjoyed an honor that the Corvette has previously been selected for 18 times: pacing the eager and pavement-hungry lineup while being propped up dauntingly on display.

This year the honors went to a striking 2021 C8 Corvette stealthily brandishing an Arctic White finish with black and yellow accents, which also happened to be the first convertible 'Vette to pace the Indy 500 since 2008. The Corvette is very iconic and unique in each model type and trim, but this particular head of the class wore a very awesome stripe package and stingray decals, with the addition of integrated strobe lights in the taillights, front louver, and headlights. This allows for the convertible to do away with the slight eyesore of a traditional light bar, and the car made an illustrious showing with its 6.2-liter engine mated with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

During the Motor Trend team's testing sessions, the convertible managed to pipe it rapidly on up to 60 mph in a stunning 2.8 seconds and galloped through the quarter-mile at just 11.1 seconds. Everyone on sizzling summer duty here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse expects a slew of much more powerful C8 variants to come in the future and evolve over time just as the C7 line did to be fully prepared for pace car duty.

The Stingray took the job for the stunning C7's debut, followed up by the Z06 two years later, and then the Grand Sport before the grand finale in the blisteringly fast form of the ZR1. The Cnet auto review team spent a solid few weeks on the road with the C8, and were astonished at how incredibly quiet it was with it up in the cabin, yet fully embraced the noise of the highway once it was down. They also noted that with the well-engineered heated seats, you could rock this number with the top down for many months after the glorious days of summer!

With the modern marvel of the mid-engined layout, the available power for the C8 from layman's terms is never overwhelming, and the amount of focus the cockpit has on the driver feels as if a figment of 2001: A Space Odyssey collided perfectly with the greats of European supercar engineering. Coming in at an “absolute performance bargain” against the likes of the twice-as-pricey Acura NSX, reclaiming your social freedom this summer will be a snap with a vehicle as sensational as this!

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Receives River-And-Stream Ready Upgrades From Aftermarket Gurus at AEV

Loyal customers have every reason to be overly excited about capable and feature-rich trucks such as the 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, with its refined ability to use an advantageous smaller size and stature to excel off-road. There is a very high level of aftermarket support available for this truck, aptly and thoroughly equipping it to perform in the wild. AEV Outfitters has recently announced two brand new accessories for this popular pickup, brandishing a new front fascia and winch cradle carrier that mounts securely in the pickup bed.

The new front receiver that comes from this heavy-hitting and innovative company that has a passion for driving in the wild allows you to mount a front winch without the need to replace the entire lower fascia. It attaches simply right to the front frame rails, and you can get her done in under two hours as the buddies may be urging you to get completely trail ready before the sun sets. AEV is also offering up an in-bed winch cradle carrier, fit for any 2015+ Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon, mounted vertically at the front of the bed right above the wheel well.

The ZR2 Bison was the amazing result of a direct collaboration between AEV and Chevy to provide customers a version with upgrades of the already very-capable ZR2 Colorado, that could pack a punch during overland duty and while navigating technical terrain. The Bison was so well-equipped by the most expert eyes and hands in the business with a Warn winch, massive skid plate protection, 35” tall BF Goodrich tires, and oversized fender flares, as well as auxiliary lighting that is ideal for driving during the early hours and doing so much more than just letting people know you're comin'!

Since trucks such as our prized Colorado come with so many awesome ways that boost the performance of the suspension, they are already riding with the means to absorb and cushion bumps that occur while navigating areas right here such as Flat Nasty and the Vandyz Offroad park. The experts who take up residence and creative duties at AEV have made sure that every aftermarket part they quality control and create provides peace of mind to conquer any challenge, and have long studied the means to integrate various parts without hindering the all-important cooling that has to take place on an off-road vehicle wondering around in its prime!

AEV's heavy-duty snorkel was inspired by global applications that brandished military-grade quality and is on heftily on deck to draw the purest and coolest air charge possible. The rear bumper they offer for the ZR2 boasts the game-changing and non-destructible tubular steel protection that can withstand any impact while looking at the top of its class. Every single vehicle built in AEV's Wixom, Michigan headquarters is given a serial numbered VIN plate, custom embroidered headrests, and a sweet-looking custom gauge cluster overlay.
