A Dose of Trucklike and Ideally Sized Q4 Cheer: Next-Generation Chevy Traverse to see Full Release in 2023

2023 Chevy Traverse

All eyes here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse were on the GM Investor Day last week, which thoroughly details what direction Chevy will be headed for regarding release and development in the next few years. Upcoming vehicles and new technologies are discussed and presented, giving us a clear picture of what to report back to our customers regarding the vehicle beat next year. Here it was officially confirmed that GM is now working on the next generation of the Chevy Traverse crossover, with a scheduled launch next year.

It should arrive as a 2024 or 2025 model and will continue to ride on the GM C1 Platform, which is the signature support for the mid and full-size variants we love to provide and service here every day. The Traverse has built its massive appeal and popularity upon its three-row charm and sensible position in the middle of the market. The current 2023 Chevy Traverse is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LY gas engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 266b-ft of torque.

GM Authority also broke down the towing capacities of this popular vehicle, as many potential buyers are curious about the types of toys and useful equipment they can lug around during their downtime. The Trailering Equipment Package is the entry point for segment-leading capability in this department, as it increases the weight rating and adds a heavy-duty cooling system along with a trailer hitch. This package also includes hitch guidance with hitch view, a huge benefit to anyone hauling a form of precious cargo.

Traverse models that are equipped with the optional trailering equipment package offer a Max trailer weight rating of 5000 pounds. Those without it are rated at 1500 pounds. The 2023 model drew heaping praise from U.S. News auto review for its “peppy V6, room for up to 8, and awesome interior build materials.” Impressive across the board with a long list of standard tech and driver-assistance features, you’ll also love its ample passenger space in all three rows.

The V6 provides more than ample thrust, and returns admirable fuel economy, while the suspension keeps things comfortable and adaptable with changing terrain. As the holiday season is fully upon us, another popular addition is active noise cancellation, which provides some peace and quiet in the cabin while you're constantly on the move. Once rows two and three are folded down you'll be working with 98.2 cubic feet of cargo space, which is handy for a delivery side hustle or spur-of-the-moment IKEA run!

The Traverse has won so many over because of its large size, while other editions such as the red line edition package offer up black details and very cool red accents. New colors for this year include Radiant Red Tintcoat and Sterling Gray Metallic, while the LT Leather trim provides high-end comfort and convenience not found on the base LS model. Built by the hard-working and always dedicated workers in Lansing, Michigan, we’ll keep you posted on any updates regarding the design and release of America’s favorite mid size and festivity-ready SUV!

2023 Chevy Colorado Revels in 3rd Generation Holiday Goodness, 4WD Capability, Additional Active Safety Features

For many of our loyal customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, choosing the right truck is an important decision. The 2023 Chevy Colorado was officially unveiled in late July, revealing to the public the all-new third generation that will look fantastic wrapped and ready to go with a gift box bow! This year’s Colorado rides on the 31XX-2 platform, sporting an entirely new front end and the same appealing form and function that makes it stand out fiercely from the competition.

The 2023 Colorado also comes ready to keep up with the Polar Express itself, sporting an updated version of the GM 8-speed automatic transmission. There are also a great number of improvements adding convenience and utility. The standard engine offering is the turbocharged 2.7-liter I4 L3B gas model, and it is offered in three different types. One of the others is the mid-range 2.7-liter Turbo Plus, cranking out 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.

Diehard truck fans have been thrilled with the four-cylinder, and the range’s top-of-the-line 2.7-liter turbo high output is currently rated at 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Built right here in the show me state at the Wentzville GM plant, next year’s Colorado model has been influenced by the competition’s trail-focused offerings. Each version now uses a new chassis that stretches out the wheelbase by 3.1 inches, greatly improving the truck’s ability to navigate steep inclines.

The Consumer Reports staff were impressed with the switch to a four-cylinder platform, which will play a major part in bringing fuel-economy gains that are more attractive in the current market. Adding more advanced safety features will also attract many buyers who love to take on the challenges of the trail while consistently embracing the cautionary side. The exterior provides a few qualities that make it feel a bit like a scaled-down Silverado, providing a much closer visual connection than previous models.

The new Colorado’s bed measures 5 feet, 2 inches, with the ability to have longer items handled by positioning the tailgate halfway open. You'll have eight tie downs and the ability to add nine more to help secure cargo in the most efficient way possible. There are four stake pockets on the bed rails that allow for adding sidewalls or a ladder rack, making the tough job of a contractor that much easier day-to-day. Other great options that add a greater amount of flair to the Colorado include remote tailgate lock/unlocking, a 110-volt bed outlet, and a spray-on bedliner.

Gear Patrol Properly Outlines the Future of America’s Track-Tuned Icon: What Will the Electric Corvette Look Like?

All of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are aware that GM’s official plans for the future are to go all-electric by 2035. Getting this done will require some major changes, and some of the company’s most iconic vehicles will undergo a transformation from the very ground up. One of the most legendary vehicles from the Chevy lineup is the Corvette, and the Gear Patrol news team detailed what an electric Corvette might look like on their blog.

Upon its release, the all-new Corvette C8 presented enthusiasts nationwide with the chance to enjoy some of the most drastic changes of the vehicle’s history. The mid-engine setup and ditching of the manual transmission were just a small taste of the innovation to come. Next is supposed to be the Corvette E-Ray, which is supposedly going to add an electric motor to the Stingray’s V8, and will crank out about 650 horsepower. It will be the first hybrid and all-wheel-drive Corvette, and is anticipated sometime in 2023.

Rumors have also begun to spread about an all-electric motor that will eventually be featured in the Corvette’s powertrain mix. GM President Mark Reuss has recently stated that the company will eventually produce a Corvette EV that will ride on the Ultium platform, although any timeframe for that release is unclear. It is predicted that GM might mimic Ford’s strategy when it comes to the Corvette. In order to make sure that the classic Ford Mustang was available to new generations of drivers, the first electric Mustang that was released was the Ford Mach-E crossover.

For our esteemed Corvette line, there will reportedly be a 4-door sedan that will do battle with the Porsche Taycan, followed by an SUV version. The sedan could likely share a platform with the Cadillac Celestiq, but some other key elements of the big picture provide a few unanswered questions regarding how things will play out. Muscle Cars & Trucks along with Hagerty both speculate that they are not sure if we will ever see an all-electric version of the mighty and masterful Corvette. What could happen is that a C9 generation model could arrive sometime later during this decade, as either a standalone or an electric option.

With all the legwork involved to successfully implement and produce a dream machine such as this, some are wondering if GM will decide to offer two very different EVs. This would leave some time for those to reimagine the two-door coupe until the 2035 deadline approaches. The 2023 Corvette models are as exhilarating and enticing as ever, with the Car and Driver staff heaping on the praise for its “incredibly exotic performance and everyday ability.”

The energy-rich model that is now widely known as the easiest sports car to live with daily celebrates its 70th anniversary this year and offers up a unique and appealing commemorative edition. It can be ordered on both the convertible or coupe body style and offers up sweet enhancements such as red brake calipers, special exterior badging, and dark finish aluminum wheels. Don’t forget to check out the Adrenaline Red Dipped cabin theme, which brings the added touch of red upholstery for the door panels and dash!

2023 Chevy Traverse Leads Fiercely Competitive SUV Segment With Punchy V6, Well-Balanced Handling

The Chevy Traverse has done an excellent job of retaining loyalty and providing a solid large-sized family SUV over the years. We knew here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse this year that it was time to get a firmer grip than ever as a segment leader in the SUV category, and the 2023 Traverse has added some updates for 2023 that assure its appeal and useful stance as a daily driver in constantly changing times.

There are two new exterior colors in the mix, as Sterling Gray Metallic and Radiant Red Tincoat enter the selection assembly.  A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter become standard now on LT Cloth, LT leather, RS, Premium, and High-Country trim levels. The rest of what you see here is mainly carried over from last year's model, featuring the 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 paired 9-speed automatic transmission. All models come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is also available.

The US News auto staff praised the new Traverse for its winning combination of value and stellar performance, along with more than ample cargo space. With its peppy V6 and enough room for 8, there is a long list of driver-assistance features, plenty of passenger space in all three rows, and the awesome updates present on the 2022 model. These include refreshed exterior styling, more standard driver-assistance features, and wireless Apple CarPlay along with Android Auto.

When compared to the close relative in the form of the GMC Acadia, the Traverse gets a bit better gas mileage with its base-level engine, and a bit more accessible comfort in the front two rows of seats. The Traverse’s infotainment offerings are simple to use and all on a layout that makes sense, with bright graphics and reasonable response. Standard equipment includes a 7-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and 6 USB ports.

Available as extra are an 8-inch screen, navigation, wireless device charging, and the stellar jump in quality with the audio upgrade to the 10-speaker Bose audio setup. For the ultimate in comfort and proper weekend tailgating accessibility, you can opt for a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, universal garage door opener, a power sunroof, remote start, and 120-volt household-style power outlet. Few SUVs can come close to rivaling the cargo space the Traverse offers, with 23 cubic feet of room behind the third row, 57.8 cubic feet behind the second row, and a maximum capacity of 98.2 cubic feet.

The interior of the 2023 Traverse has an impressive quality of airy space and seats up to 8 people across three rows. Some of the upgrades we’d highly recommend making things stellar for the long haul would be leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats. We were front and center when Autotrader also claimed after their test drives that: “the extra space is very appealing to growing families, along with the Smart Slide seat that allows for simple and quick access to the third row.”

Get to Know the Silverado 1500 Trims Offering Wireless Apple CarPlay!

Our customers and Chevy drivers everywhere love just how much the interior comfort level has stepped up over the years. The truck shoppers of today are looking for connectivity features that are greatly enhanced, and frequently inquire about which trim levels will offer them the features they love most. The Motor Biscuit team cranked out a super cool blog last week that focused on the Chevy Silverado 1500, and which trims have the very savvy and productive additive of wireless Apple CarPlay.

This is the ingenious application that allows you to take your iPhone on the road with you and not miss anything that you’ve snagged up on your digital journey up to this point. With its seamless integration and the added benefit of Siri Eyes Free, you can easily enjoy everything your phone has to offer while driving safely. As more manufacturers have been making the sensible switch to this function, it has been growing in popularity and frequency of appearance. The 2023 Chevy Silverado comes in nine different trims, with the least expensive being the Work Truck model.

Up a level from the WT is the Custom trim, and then the LT and Trail Boss respectively. The RST, LTZ, and LT Trail Boss follow later, along with the High Country and ZR2. When properly equipped, the 2023 Silverado 1500 can tow upward of 13,000 pounds. The WT trim is the only one that does not include wireless Apple CarPlay as standard, but it’s still available as a viable option. Business Insider reported last month that Apple plans to roll out a game-changing update to Apple CarPlay in 2023, greatly expanding its capabilities.

On top of providing the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay, the 2023 Chevy Silverado also offers the short-range wireless connection capability of Bluetooth. Most models also come with a Wi-Fi hotspot, and the larger and larger screens that consumers are loving to appear with the option for a 13.4-inch touchscreen available on other trims. All 2023 Silverado trims also will come equipped with the means to provide a necessary and helpful watchful eye via Teen Driver, along with other advanced driver-assistance systems that include forward collision warning and automated emergency braking.

The High Country trim level also has access to Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driving technology that takes control of the wheel on properly dialed roadways. If Super Cruise senses that you are properly alert, you will be moving forward without having to steer, which brings about an entirely new dimension of how the cars of the future will provide ways to enjoy the ride and free your mind to prepare for your kids’ next long-awaited sporting event or business meeting.

Every bump, curb, and other obstacles you’ll encounter is scanned and anticipated by the hands-free driving system, which takes control of the wheel intelligently. We can’t wait to hear what great use you’ll make of your new Silverado: come down to visit us here at the Powerhouse and we’ll be happy to answer your questions and assist you with a test drive of the nation’s most durable and delicious Thanksgiving dinner-ready heavy-duty truck!
