2022 Suburban and Tahoe Upgrades Include Limited-Slip Differential, Improved 10-Speed Automatic Gearbox!

The Chevy Suburban and Tahoe are two of our most popular models here at Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, due to their large-sized abilities and haul-ready appeal! The 2022 models will include new features such as an electronic limited-slip differential and new color options. The colors include dark ash metallic, auburn metallic, and evergreen gray metallic.

The stop/start feature will see its return for the 2022 model year, which is a fuel-saving and eco-conscious upgrade. The pair will also see the addition of a 10-speed automatic transmission, which can be suitably sized to either the 5.3-liter L84 V8 or the 6.2-liter L87 V8 gas engines. It will also be paired with Chevy’s controlled overdrive and Traction Select System. The new transmission allows for much simpler calibration needed for the transmission and will have the ability to enable necessary OTA updates as they arise.

This provides the ability to fix bugs and significantly improve the most important performance elements that keep you safe on the road. Spacious, well-equipped, and offering several different engine choices, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe has tons of great new features for the new year’s model. It has a standard 12-inch digital driver and reverse automatic braking which is now available in the top two trim levels. The Enhanced Trailer View is now offered in the two upper trims, and the Z71 is now eligible for an Off-Road Performance package.

The 2022 Suburban features a lineup of very strong engines: the new addition this year of 6.2-liter V8 engines across the board. You’ll find seating for 7 to 9 passengers and more cargo space than any other SUV available. The Suburban’s high towing capacity, comfortable ride, and awesome ability to haul make it a top choice for many drivers, especially the ones who out there who prefer larger SUV’s.

The interior does a great job of filtering out much of the road and wind noise and passengers will appreciate the 12.6-inch touchscreens for entertainment and driving mode view for navigation.

This transmission delivers fast, yet smooth shifting and feels as if there is enough power to spare when you are under pressure to accelerate! The Suburban is also well-recognized for soaking up bumps and dips in the pavement, especially during drives with rough terrain.

2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Will Once Again Feature Automatic Stop/Start System

GM will begin producing the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban with Automatic Stop/Start after they had been forced to temporarily remove the feature due to the semiconductor chip shortage.

All units produced for the 2022 model year in October until December 12 were not equipped with this useful and energy-saving function. Now that the global supply has slightly seen improvement, GM has been able to re-add Automatic Stop and Start to the Tahoe and Suburban, and all vehicles produced from December 13h forward will include it.

During the pause in production, the feature was removed from all Chevy Tahoe and Suburban models that were equipped with the naturally-aspirated 5.3-Liter L84 V8, or the 6.2-Liter L87 V8, and did not affect models equipped with the 3.0-liter I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Both the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are produced at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas along with the GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is a customer favorite for good reason. It offers roomy seating, class-leading fuel economy from the diesel engine, and an ideally expansive cargo area. Now standard in every model for 2022, front parking sensors, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist, and  Buckle to Drive feature add extra safety. In every trim except the base level, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Google infotainment system are now standard. The off-road and wildly popular Z71 trim now receives the optional electronic limited-slip differential and the powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine is available across a few more trim levels.

The 2022 Chevy Suburban is the star on top of the tree at the Powerhouse because of its comfortable ride, roomy interior, and responsive powertrains. It shares its platform with the Silverado pickup truck and ditches the solid rear axle for an entirely new independent suspension. There are also some upgrades for the new model year, adding a digital gauge cluster and bundling in some extra useful driver assistance features. The 2022 Suburban has a massive 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, more than the rival Ford Expedition Max!

Chevy Silverado EV Pickup To Begin Production in Two Years

Stellar towing, a diverse engine selection, and a comfortable interior are all important factors to consider when it’s time to upgrade to a new truck. Electric power will soon change the entire industry, and we guarantee you’re going to love the Silverado EV’s new performance and look!

The Chevy Silverado EV will go into production in 2023, and the truck will become available after its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Silverado EV will be the second electric truck for GM, joining the GMC Hummer EV.

This will be part of a calculated $35 billion push into the electric vehicle realm. While not entirely like the current gasoline-powered offerings from Chevy, this EV will be built on GM’s Ultium battery pack and electric drivetrain, and the official range claim is now more than 400 miles on a full charge.

It will boast a fixed-glass roof and all-wheel steering. The Silverado EV will be built at Factory Zero, GM’s EV plant in Detroit, fulfilling a futuristic premise: the autonomously driven Cruise Origin. The excitement and technical buzz of CES is the perfect time for CEO Mary Barra to provide the keynote address and fill in a few more of the blanks and provide details about additional features!

Consumer Reports Praises 2022 Chevy Blazer as Recommended Vehicle

Consumer Reports
just gave the 2022 Chevy Blazer a recommended rating, finishing with a test score of 83 out of 100, including a predicted reliability rating of four out of five. With safety as your main concern, you’ll also be happy to see that forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are both now standard equipment.

Brandishing 27 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg overall, the Blazer earned extra praise for its powertrain and drivetrain. This is also a very quiet ride, with sound cancelling controls making the top of the Consumer Reports list as well. The Blazer saw its resurrection as a nameplate during 2019, exciting many who remembered its go-anywhere spirit and unique flair.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer now rides on the GM C1 platform. This year’s model features the Enhanced Convenience Package available for the Premier trim and the available trailering package with base engine. The Blazer has two rows of seating and is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a great-looking and tech-savvy SUV.

Acceleration and passing power with the base turbo engine are more than adequate, and it pairs ideally with the Blazer’s ultra-sharp handling and on-point braking. The 308-horsepower V6 is where the thrill-seekers will want to go, and where the sheer enjoyment in the daily drive will shine through. Situated just in between the Equinox and the Traverse, many growing families will love how the Blazer has a bit more room than a compact crossover, but is not quite as large as three-row SUVs. The standard 8-inch infotainment system hits all the right notes and is remarkably intuitive.

Standard features for the base LT model include this 8-inch infotainment screen, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-zone climate control, an HD backup camera, and the Chevy Assist Package. This includes the very useful additions of automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following-distance indicator, forward-collision alert, and automatic high-beams.

Silverado ZR2 And Colorado ZR2 Production-Spec Models Both Claim Wins in Desert Series Racing

Chevy announced the Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 made some holiday history by winning Best in the Desert class championships during the Cal City Desert Challenge race.

This was the second consecutive championship for the Silverado ZR2 and the fourth straight for the Colorado ZR2. Chad Hall Racing and the Chevy engineering team have been competing with a pre-production version of the Silverado ZR2 for the last two years, helping with the rigorous testing and final validation of the various off-road technologies used for the 2022 production model.

The Chad Hall Racing Colorado ZR2 has been competing in the Best in the Desert series since 2017 and is the only truck in its class to finish every race it has been in. The Colorado ZR2 race vehicle was used to help test and validate 15 groundbreaking factory race components including DSSV dampers and long-travel leaf springs, jounce shocks, a steel driveshaft, a tie-rod sleeve system, and ball-spline half-shafts.

This awesome truck duo will return on Dec. 3 during the Mint 400, an action-packed event that takes place just outside of Las Vegas. A week later, the team will attend the Best in the Desert awards ceremony to usher out another successful season.

The 2022 Colorado ZR2 has received heaps of praise from Car and Driver for its poised handling, ideal lift and widened stance, and highly capable handling during the challenges of off-road navigation. When you come down to the Powerhouse this holiday season for a dose of holiday cheer and amazing deals, don’t forget to check out the dealer-installed Trail Boss Package: it adds an extra 1-inch lift, skid plates, red tow hooks, and decadently dark 17-inch rims!

Chevy Colorado Z71 Ready to Rule Truck Market

20 percent of all vehicles sold in the country are pickups, and the Chevy Colorado is looking to join the party! Here are a handful of reasons to love the Chevy Colorado Z71.

Ride Quality: The Z71 Package comes with an upgraded suspension, a game-changer when it comes to smoothing over bumps on and off the road. With over 8 inches of ground clearance, the ZL1 can easily travel a mountainside trail or jump curbs while you are safe and sound inside.

Power: There are three engines to choose from in the 2021 lineup, so there is something for everyone! The 2.8-liter Duramax now produces 181 horsepower and a potential 30 mpg highway for those looking for a capable work truck that is also economical. You can also get either a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with 200 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 308 horsepower and a 0-60 mph launch time of just 7.1 seconds.

Trail Boss: The Trail Boss package provides a greater suspension lift and gets rid of the front air dam. This makes way for more ground clearance, underbody skid plates, and brand-new alloys. During the first month it was offered, the Trail Boss package tripled its projected orders in a single month, exceeding expectations as Chevy always does!

Customization: The Chevy Colorado is one of the most easily modified trucks on the market, and can be personalized to bring your own style to the vehicle. Aftermarket parts now account for a huge number of total sales, and the simple bolt-on options mean you don’t have to be a mechanical genius to beef things up a notch.

Get Savings on Reliable Chevy Traverse During 2021 Holiday Season

November is an awesome month for many reasons. It’s the time for growing out a moustache, football pools, and brand-new vehicles rolling onto dealership lots. This year, you can get a Chevy Traverse discount and interest-free financing on 2021 and 2022 Traverse models! The recent refresh allowed for wheel design revisions, the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard LED headlights, and an automatic stop-start disable switch.

With its spacious cabin, strong performance, and efficient V6, the Traverse boasts great infotainment tech, and room for up to eight that can settle into comfort inside the cabin. The RS model has 20-inch wheels, heated front seats, automatic high-beam headlamps, in-dash navigations, a 120-volt household style outlet on the back of the center console, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and a brand-new dual exhaust.

Space is key in an SUV. Offering the most first-row cubby storage in its class, it has long been known as the cargo-hauling champ in its segment. As SUV sizes have decreased over the last few years, bigger can still be better when it comes to weekend gatherings and hauling everyone around!

The 2021 Traverse earned a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and comes standard with key safety features such as available blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, and lane-keep assist. Also included as standard are a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with 8-inch screen available, and other available upscale features are leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, wireless device charging, and power-folding third row.

With a strong 4.9/5 in the reliability category on the Cars.com review, the comfortable ride, climate control for each row of seats, and USB ports for each row, it is a perfect commuting car. Every Traverse comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that can tow up to 5,000 pounds, and all-wheel drive is available with Traction Mode Select.

Chevy Brings Wide Assortment of Custom Vehicles to SEMA 2021

The SEMA Conference is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year as future concepts and all the best developments in the auto industry are on display. The Chevy Beast truck and the fully-electric Project X hot rod were a few of the standout selections from a flurry of show-stopping goods. Chevy also brought a few more lightly customized versions of their full-size trucks and SUVS that illustrate what the future could hold.

The Tahoe Z71 Overlanding Concept was the most eye-catching according to Autoblog, as it appeared in candy-apple red. With a lifted suspension and 33-inch tires on custom beadlock wheels, this is an awesome concept that turns America’s favorite large-sized SUV into a trail-crushing and dune-conquering machine. There’s even a rooftop tent and portable cooler ready to go!

The Suburban Street Concept boasts stock suspension that has been lowered to conquer crowded streets. It also is uniquely darkened in black with a new grille that spells out “Chevrolet” and has black badging with a matte black hood decal. This unique breed of what the GM Authority experts call “expressive street style” begins with the 2022 Chevy Suburban High Country base. It does a great job of convincing Suburban owners to experiment with a build and explore all the options available to them.

The Silverado High Country Midnight Edition Concept gets the black-out treatment with a custom grille and badges on top of 22-inch wheels. There are other available accessories like black exhaust tips, audio built for tailgating, a power tonneau cover, and Brembo six-piston front brake calipers. This top trim has a nicer cabin thanks to a fully digital gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen. Lower trim levels are still equipped with safety suites, including everything from automated emergency braking to lane-keeping assist.

It is amazing to see what is in store for Chevy’s future, and this year’s SEMA show was full of surprises! Whether it is rugged off-road trucks, street savvy XXL-sized haulers, or family crossover SUVs, the concepts that Chevy has in store for America’s everyday auto owner are going to be tremendous at every turn!

2023 Corvette Z06 Ready to “Put The World on Notice” With Star-Studded Internet Film

There is nothing as All-American and exciting as the Corvette, and Chevy has debuted an exciting digital film called “Putting the World on Notice” that highlights the incoming 2023 Corvette Z06. The film details its capabilities on the track, cutting-edge technology, and world-class craftsmanship with help from some superstars.

Devin Booker is the star guard for the Phoenix Suns, who made it all the way to the NBA Finals last season! Booker became interested in exhilarating cars after growing up around the Corvette, and often shows up to his games in a polished and primed Corvette of his own.

Oliver Gavin is no stranger to the challenges and demands of the racing world, having five wins at 24 Hours of Le Mans under his belt. He’s an expert in Corvette racing, and knows his way around a Corvette like a true master of the craft.

Emelia Hartford is a skilled driver and performance engineer who has her own 2020 Corvette Stingray! Her love for awesome and capable cars began with the Chevy small block platform. She has gained a sizable and enthusiastic following that is always looking for her performance build updates.

Bruce Meyer is the founding chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum. He’s also a well-versed collector whose garage includes iconic Corvettes that have competed in and won some of the globe’s most challenging track contests. This is an individual who has a vast knowledge of supercharges, gravity, modern developments, and the spirit of an esteemed and well-celebrated classic.

During this film, the designers behind the Z06 outline the process that led to the most powerful Corvette yet. The Corvette has a distinguished and picturesque legacy, and its premium touches and mammoth power make for a car that displays as much raw passion as its creators. Considerably wider than the standard Corvette Stingray, the Z06’s naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 also is going to provide a sound that is unlike any Corvette before!

2022 Chevy Silverado Aims to Lower Emissions Spanning Comprehensive Engine Lineup

The fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will hit the lots at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse with a slew of new changes over the 2021 model year, with the most notable being an essential reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions for every engine in the lineup.

The 2022 model achieved a 5.8 percent reduction in greenhouse gas. Models being released four years down the line will brandish the naturally-aspirated 4.3-liter LV3 gasoline engine along with a naturally-aspirated 5.3-liter V8 L82 gas engine, while the six-speed automatic transmission will be discontinued. Since models such as the Chevy Silverado are so popular, they will play an integral role in helping ease the transition.

Most 2022 Silverado models have an updated cabin with better materials, a fully digital gauge cluster and 13.4-inch touchscreen, and the hands-free driving technology of Super Cruise available on the top trim. Pickup trucks were once much simpler body-on-frame tools of the trade ultimately defined by their engine output and maximum tow rating, and today’s pickups see much more strict judgement based on their technology features and interiors providing luxury elements.

Even the lower trim levels will have driver-assistance technologies that are now seen as standard across the board, including automated emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and high-beam headlights. Every 2022 Silverado now features front-end styling, and select models with wind-shaping running lights now feature an animated lighting sequence! Silverado models equipped with the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six now also benefit from chassis updates with the Max Trailering Package, which now enables a range-topping towing state of 13,300 pounds.

Chevy Blazer Tops J.D. Power's Seat Satisfaction Survey

The Chevy Blazer was recently honored as a top pick in the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Seat Quality And Satisfaction Study. This study ranks vehicles based on how consumers rate the comfort of their seats.

To complete this study, J.D. Power surveyed 110,827 customers who had just purchased or leased the a 2021 model year vehicle and asked them to provide a seat rating based on ergonomics, comfort level, and the perceived quality of manufacturing. The responses were used to score each vehicle based on the problems reported per 100 vehicles, with a lower score meaning a higher seat quality. The seats in the Blazer had an average of just 6.1 complaints per 100 vehicles, rendering them the best-performing seats in the large SUV category.

These seats are proudly manufactured in the United States by Southfield, Michigan-based supplier Lear Corporation. They are more durable and outperform the alternative cloth upholstery during many tests that measure back and leg circulation along with drive-time posture. Viable leather alternatives have evolved to a point where they can be used without sacrificing customer experience and possess a unique comfort all their own.

Reintroduced two years ago, the Blazer is now a midsize crossover, situated comfortably just between the Equinox and Traverse in Chevy’s lineup. Proving itself right away as one of the top-selling models in its segment, it will receive a mid-cycle enhancement for the 2023 model year with updated interior and exterior styling, and a complete refresh of its technology features. Production for next year’s model started this week, and test models in light camouflage have already been spotted!

The model spotted was the Premier trim with black paint and black-and-white camo to obscure the revised styling underneath. It sported a new front fascia along with revisions to the grille and front lighting elements. On top of being the most comfortable seating, we also expect a larger infotainment screen and an improved center stack design.

Chevy Silverado EV Set to Debut at 2022 CES

The brand-new Silverado electric pickup will make its industry debut at the Consumer Electronics Show 2022, where influential technology is on display for the public eye.

Some of the most important details were disclosed in the Chevy Pressroom blog. The truck will have a fixed-glass roof, increased headroom, and more space for both front and rear passengers. Designed as an EV from the ground up, the Silverado EV offers the massive performance value and strength that customers need from a solid truck along with a range of more than 400 miles on a single charge. The Ultium Platform will act as the perfect solution for the future, as it makes torque and zero-emissions driving possible without sacrificing any elements of power or capability.

Available Four-Wheel Steer will provide increased agility and tighter turning radius at low speed, along with better stability at high speeds. Most industry experts are looking forward to a more classic take on an electric pickup truck. Car and Driver reported there will be three available electric motors depending on trim, and all-wheel drive will likely be standard.

It is expected that trims higher up the ladder such as the LTZ and High Country will offer the trademark luxury features that Silverado drivers have long come to love. The amazing new Ultium battery technology can be scaled up to create a battery pack as large as 200 kWh, and electric power has now been expertly engineered to assure that towing will be no problem.

The face of the Silverado has changed a bit and is destined to be a bit friendlier to the Earth, and we are excited as could be to witness the Silverado prepare for a game-changing and innovative future!

2022 Tahoe and Suburban Arrive Newly-Equipped With Google Assistant Functions, Ferocious V8

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban both have new options that make them even more viable! The massive space, high-tech offerings, and top-tier drive quality radically set these two apart from the rest. The RST, Z71, and Premier trim levels boast the 6.2-liter V8 ranked at 420 horsepower, fully locked and loaded with dual exhaust and Dynamic Fuel Management Technology.

These vehicles now offer Magnetic Ride Control on the Premier, High Country, and Z71 trims. This feature has such quick reactions that you can sense how well it adapts every split second. The electronic limited-slip differential has done a phenomenal job of boosting performance while allowing for sports car handling, and power can be quickly shifted to the wheel if slip is detected on either side.

While you’re backing up, easing into a parking spot, or just cruising on the highway during an extended trip, having access to many camera views will help with the split-second judgments every driver has to make during a tight situation. There are now 13 available camera views, with anyone hauling valuable cargo given the ability to “see through” a connected, compatible trailer with a properly equipped truck.

Every trim LT and above includes Google Assistant, Maps, and Google Play on the vehicle display. You will have total control of phone calls and messaging, audio volume, instant navigation with Google maps, HVAC control, and your preferred choice of SiriusXM Channel! Production began this month, and they will be parading at the front line of the New Year’s best vehicles due to its space, well-equipped status, and sophisticated suspension that makes long trips comfortable all the time.

The Tahoe has been praised for the abundance of rear legroom as well as its towing and hauling capabilities. The Edmunds.com team deemed the Tahoe as “excellent” for navigating city streets, and for boasting taut and firm steering while still letting you know you’re at the helm of a large SUV. The Tahoe’s 10.2-inch screen and navigation offer crisp and clear graphics, an easy-to understand menu, and fast response time. Everyone along for the ride will feel that much more at home with plenty of useful charging ports situated through the cabin for all of your devices!

Chevy Bolt EV Battery Production Back on Track With Streamlined Manufacturing Process, Diagnostic Software

GM confirmed there is a plan to make sure that customers can charge their Chevy Bolt EV and EUV for their next trip with confidence. Vital software and hardware remedies are now a reality as battery module production has resumed at full speed in Holland and Hazel Park, Michigan.

Battery modules will begin to ship to dealers like us in just a couple weeks. A notification process is in place to inform all affected customers the moment their replacement modules become available. Each customer will also receive an extended battery 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty. Two months after their release, a brand-new advanced diagnostic software package that can increase available battery charging parameters will be launched to further boost accessibility and longevity.

This software will closely monitor battery performance and report any damage that requires a quick replacement. Car and Driver claimed the “almost instant acceleration,” competitive driving range, and spacious cabin in the 2021 Bolt EV would assure anyone taking the all-electric route that they had made the right choice. The addition of the Premier trim provides ambient interior lighting, leather seats, heated rear seats, and more. The Driver Confidence package hits all the right spots on the safe side with rear-cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors.

The digital instrument cluster display and the central touchscreen feel appropriately modern, and generous front and rear passenger space make the Bolt comfortable and spacious for five. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are standard, and several EV-specific menus allow for you to quickly check out valuable information such as your remaining range, and exactly how much battery energy is being used.

Key safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Edmunds team purchased and extensively tested a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV for three years, tallying 30,000 miles in the process. They loved its practicality as an efficient car for commuting, its outstanding range, and the fact that overall performance never dwindled over the years.

2023 Chevy Silverado HD Next to be Crowned King of Its Class

The sleek sedans, sporty crossover SUVs, and powerful trucks from Chevrolet keep getting better with each release. The same is true for the Silverado and the updates coming for the 2023 HD model.

The current model’s 6.6-Liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 is expected to make a return in the updated model, with a boosted horsepower of 505 and a torque capability of 1,085 lb-ft. The 6.6-liter produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque in the 2022 Silverado HD.

The 2023 Silverado HD will have an updated exterior design that will set it in a class by itself. There are plans for a larger diameter ring gear and differential, with class-leading horsepower and torque in mind. The incoming Silverado models are going to offer much to love: a luxurious interior, strong towing ability, and the badge of America’s hardest-working brand.

Electric-powered models are expected to arrive for the 2023 model year, marking a giant step forward for trucks that have been the backbone of hard-working Americans for years. For now, the original gas-powered version of this awesome truck comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Travel Link, Onstar with 4G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi, a Bose premium audio system featuring seven speakers, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a multi-angle camera system.

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Brings Engine Options, Ground Clearance, Off-Road Ability and More

The Chevy Colorado has been fully revamped for the 2021 model year, and the Hotcars.com staff was recently raving about what an underrated gem it is. Still an awesome daily driver with strong off-road capability, it has everything any truck lover would need!

The 3.6-liter gas V6 and turbo-diesel 2.8-liter Duramax are both available for the ZR2, cranking out 308 and 181 horsepower respectively. Both options are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the ZR2 also has a 2-inch higher lift kit.

The ZR2 boasts an additional 3.5 inches of width over the regular Colorado. 17-inch wheels are also included as standard to complement the truck’s aggressive stance and adventure-ready vibe. The ZR2 is incredibly versatile, as it can easily go from rock crawling to narrow trails to highway driving, and even through the desert. This truck also now boasts a brand-new front fascia, grille, and tailgate, and an available 8-inch touchscreen for Chevy’s user-friendly infotainment system.

Chevy’s patented Multimatic DSSV damper tech is always working to assure your rides are comfortable and replaces the shims of a conventional damper with a spool valve, which results in a more consistent damper. These dampers are designed for the driver to be able to take the vehicle off-road while still having full confidence that the suspension will hold up perfectly.

If the standard ZR2 isn’t the look for you, you can opt for the Dusk, Midnight, or Bison packages, the last of which is the most attractive package for off-roading outdoorsmen. AEV Outfitters has outfitted the Bison with fog lamps, skid plates, premium winch, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

2022 Chevy Traverse Earns “Superior” Rating as a Top Safety Pick

Last week, it was officially announced that the 2022 Chevy Traverse once again earned a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS, solidifying its position as a trusted and durable crossover. An improved set of LED headlights on the top Premier and High Country trims fared well for the Traverse’s standing this year, and the vehicle earned “Good” ratings in all six crash tests from the IIHS.

After testing its available automatic emergency braking systems, the IIHS put the Traverse in the “Superior” category. It boasts a more-than-capable V6 engine, decent gas mileage, and a customized ride that provides the best in comfort even over rough roads. Few SUVs in any class can claim as much cargo space, and the Traverse can comfortably provide space for adults in each row.

If you’re on the hunt for an SUV that is perfect for cruising around with the family on long and short trips alike, then the Traverse is one of the best options out there. The US News staff claimed that the current year’s Traverse easily beats out the Toyota Highlander when it comes to livelier powertrain, ample cargo space, and third-row seating. You’ll enjoy standard technology such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which you can only find in higher-trim levels of the Pilot.

23 cubic feet of room behind the third row and 57.8 feet with the third-row seats folded will be great for storage, and with both the second and third rows folded, you’ll be working with 98.2 cubic feet. The infotainment 3 interface is well-organized, making navigating through menus a snap, and it is incredibly easy to sync with your smartphone. A 7-inch touchscreen comes standard along with six USB ports, Bluetooth, and a WI-Fi hotspot. There are available upgrades to the rear entertainment with a DVD player, 8-inch touchscreen, and 10-speaker Bose system along with satellite radio.

Getting out to the lake sounds more and more appealing during the final days of summer, and when the spontaneous pumpkin patch run with the family comes this fall, you’re going to find plenty of fun uses for the Traverse’s 5,000-pound towing capacity! Standard advanced safety features on the Traverse include rear-seat reminder, buckle-up reminder, rearview camera, and Teen Driver mode. The High Country trim is a great buy for those looking for upper-end features and luxury: it is loaded with just about every tech feature you can get in a Traverse, including adaptive cruise control, power-folding third-row seats, as well as additional trailering equipment.

2022 Chevy Silverado Offers Climb-Up With Off-Road High-Road Assistance Steps

Missouri residents seem to love trucks more than any other type of vehicle, and for good reason! The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is going to be an awesome vehicle, and the blogging staff at GM Authority cranked out a feature last week about a new trait the coming-soon Silverado will add to its toolbelt.

The brand-new Off-Road High Clearance Assist Steps are now going to be available on both the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2022 Silverado HD, and will be ready to order on the Work Truck, Custom Trail Boss, RST and LT Trail Boss trim levels. These feature inlaid Chevrolet branding on the section closest to the front quarter panel and offer you the ultimate assistance for a step up when it arrives late in the 2022 model year.

There is nothing quite like the sight of a line getting ready to roll, and production will begin full steam for the new Silverado model at the GM Fort Wayne, IN plant later this month. Order books are now open nationwide, allowing you to carefully pick and customize the truck that is perfect for you. Earlier this month, GM Authority reported the new LTZ model was spotted during drive testing with its wide range of changes and updates, with the front fascia covered in heavy camouflage to hide the upcoming model’s revised styling elements.

The wheels appeared to be sporting an all-new design with five open spokes and other chrome accents that blend perfectly with the polished door handles and window trim. On top of brand-new styling and wheel designs, the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 will feature an overhauled cabin space with a new dash, center console, center stack, infotainment screen, and a new digital gauge cluster. Sporting a long cabin that provides ample rear legroom, numerous bed tie-down points, and a spacious bed capacity, the current Silverado receives a round of updates for value and appearance that assure it will outrank the competition!

For everyone out there looking for a cost-effective truck that still provides everything you need in a proper rig, check out the LT Trim. It boasts 17” wheels, the much-loved Chevy Infotainment 3 system with 8” diagonal color touchscreen, the revolutionary StabiliTrak stability control system with Proactive Roll Avoidance, electronic trailer sway control, and hill start assist!

This Year or Next Year? 2021 Vs. 2022 Chevy Equinox

As the school bells ring, backpacks are loaded up, and new class schedules are released, a brand-new crossover SUV may be just the thing to help with your busy schedule! You can opt for 2021’s Chevy Equinox or a 2022 model. The knowledgeable staff at Cars.com took note of a few of the differences and similarities between the two lovable SUVs and outlined which may suit you better.

The current year’s model no longer has the L trim and has seen a complete styling refresh with a new RS trim and an assortment of new tech features. The 2022 Equinox got fresh front and rear styling, a new grille, and updated LED headlights and daytime running lights. The RS outfits the Equinox with perfectly-darkened elements including black exterior trim, 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a unique shift knob.

A 7-inch touchscreen is now standard on the LS, LT, and RS trims, and stepping up to the Premier trim upgrades the screen to 8 inches. Every 2022 Equinox trim is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard safety features that carry over from last year include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, front pedestrian braking and lane keep assist, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist. The engine is the 170-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and every Equinox model is available with front or all-wheel drive.

One thing to consider when deciding which Equinox is best for you is the  RS trim. The 2021 model did not offer this option that provides an updated, edgy, and raw appearance. With so many activities to load up the car for in the fall, both the 2021 and 2022 Chevy Equinox models provide much-needed space. On both models, you can choose between 17, 18, or 19-inch tires with your choice of ten exterior color options.

This year’s model provides single-zone manual air conditioning, and staying entertained with the latest news, music, and podcasts will be a snap with Sirius XM Radio now available as standard on every equipment group. The Driver Confidence III Package now includes Automatic Parking Assist, and the Premier trim offers French stitching on the interior, a brand-new 19-inch machined-face wheel, and a logo projection liftgate. We would recommend the year-old model for a teen driver going back to school on a budget. We will lock in the best price available, and you’ll be the owner of one of the nation’s most popular crossover SUVs with stellar safety ratings and class-leading back-to-school swagger!

2021 Z71 Tahoe “The Right Tool For The Job” During Extended Trip To Lake Tahoe

There is nothing as satisfying as having the right tool for the job. Full-size SUVs such as the Tahoe are more than capable of tackling demanding off-road terrain during an exciting 1,400-mile trip to enjoy the splendor of Lake Tahoe itself!

Motor Trend couldn’t think of a vehicle that would have performed better than the Chevy Tahoe during the demanding trip. The steering was well-weighted, and the overall size and stature of the body did a fantastic job of ironing out the many imperfections of the trail. The Z71’s magnetic ride control dampers and air springs do a phenomenal job of zeroing out body roll effects and made for an SUV that fares well in the high country of beautiful Northern California.

The engine option is the trusty 5.3-liter V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the sound of which can’t be matched by the Ford Expedition’s twin-turbo V6. The transmission was hailed by the Motor Trend team as “wonderfully tuned for this specific application,” and optimal for getting up steep mountain inclines like Tioga Pass east of Yosemite.

When the group embarked on a stretch of narrow, winding, and steep road ending at the firewatch tower on legendary Buck Rock, they encountered hikers and mountain bikers that had needed to turn back due to the tough and demanding terrain. However, the Tahoe pressed on!

The crew got the Z71 into off-road drive mode, then engaged 4WD low, and elevated up to maximum 10 inches ground clearance. The 9 different onboard camera angles were a massive help getting up this challenging incline, and even though they had to slowly traverse over boulders, they made it all of the way up the trail. Large-sized SUVs are not necessarily the vehicles you think of when it comes to going off-road, but all of the added elements on the Tahoe really make a solid case for conquering the trail.

After feeling accomplished and that the Lake Tahoe trip was a total hit, the group took the Tahoe to a bachelor party that was happening that weekend. They were surprised to learn that no one’s knees were uncomfortable in the third row. The rear entertainment system offered up two twin 12.6-inch screens courtesy of the Rear Media and Nav package. The screens worked beautifully in conjunction with the Bose 9-speaker sound system to get the group amped up for the event. After six days and 1,400 miles, the staff claimed that the Z71 Tahoe is “in all ways worth it.”

Mid-Cycle Enhancement Of 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Flaunts Reworked Elements Inside and Out and Its Debut is Only a Month Away!

While we are showing customers around here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse and getting a feel for just what they want out of a vehicle, so many of them are curious about the Silverado truck line! The mid-cycle refresh of this full-size pickup will see its official debut at 4:00 a.m. EST on September 9, as reported this week by the experts at GM Authority.

This updated version will feature a revised front fascia with brand-new headlamps, a redesigned tailgate, and new taillights. Inside, there is a completely overhauled cabin featuring a new dash, center stack, and center console, a bigger infotainment screen, and a larger and more user-friendly driver information center. The seemingly old-school column shifter will also be dropped to make way for a new electronic gear selector system.

Another change for the 2022 Silverado is its move to the all-new Global B electrical architecture, which paves the way for over-the-air system updates for GM to offer the latest technology features. The hands-free and revolutionary Super Cruise drive system remains as one of the most dazzling bridge technologies to fully autonomous driving, and allows you to remove your hands from the wheel while it constantly updates its database of roads it will navigate with you.

Everyone who loves to venture off the urban path and partake in the fun and mud-splattered pastime of off-roading is going to immediately love the ZR2 model. It has upgraded suspension, knobby tires, and underbody skidplates for extra protection and armor-class resistance. Just before the Silverado 1500’s debut, the Silverado 1500 Limited will grace the truck stage with revised exterior styling, a completely overhauled interior, and a few other sharp driver-focused changes.

Proudly assembled in the USA, the 2022 Silverado will see a migration to Google Automotive Services to enable live traffic, mapping, and location search features. It will also see an increase in payload capacity as well as modified rear suspension. Wearing a very affordable price tag, reliable powertrain options, and dependable support after purchase, The Silverado was long meant to be America’s truck, exceeding expectations and brandishing strength during every drive!

2021 Silverado 1500 RST Leans on Tradition, Stellar Street-Tuned Attitude

The Chevy Silverado 1500 was brand new for 2019 and burst on the scene in our truck lineup here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse. One of the fascinating new powertrains introduced was a diesel inline-6 that's EPA-rated at 33 mpg on the highway, as well as a turbocharged 4-cylinder that boasts a 9,600-lb towing capability. More than other trucks, the Chevy Silverado leans on tradition and provides America's hard-working backbone the trusty rides they need to always get the job done.

The 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 is definitely powerful enough to run up Lookout Mountain and back, and you can still get your hands on the much more robust 6.2-liter V8. It cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and brings along a 10-speed automatic transmission, a slight advantage over the 5.3-liter RST and its 8-speed. The RST trim is, for the most part, the most inexpensive means of graduating to the 6.2-liter and the 10-speed transmission.

The Car and Driver team loved what they considered a “budget hot rod” by snagging up the RST's Redline package: it offers up blacked-out trim with red accents, 20-inch black wheels, bed liner side steps, a Bose premium audio system, a driver-assistance package, and the Multi-Flex tailgate. During official track testing, the 4-wheel drive crew cab hit 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. It also conquered the quarter-mile in 14.0 seconds while cruising at around 100 mph. The closely-spaced ratios in the transmission pair well with the massive V8, and the Eaton automatic locking rear differential is an ideal additive.

Internet reviews are the best way to get honest opinions on a product. One driver wanted to replace a 2020 Ford XLT because of its underwhelming mileage and towing capacity. He took the new Silverado on a trip and ranked the 580 miles on one tank, comfort, and capability all as a solid A+!

Instead of chunky tires and heightened suspension, the RST offers more practical and daily-use, all the while retaining the awesome utility a truck offers. The 2021 Silverado RST will soon be blazing up Missouri back roads as America enjoys the much-needed return of outdoor freedom!

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Charges Onto Scene With Upgraded Interior, Revolutionary Super Cruise, Interior Improvements

The all-electric Chevy Bolt has been updated for 2022, and all of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are eager to see the interior improvements. The five-passenger EUV is a bit larger and features better technology than its predecessor.

The EUV is about six inches longer than the Bolt, providing three more inches of legroom for rear-seat passengers. There is an all-new seat design that features additional padding, and the luxury of heated and ventilated front seats is available. The rear bench is a 50/50 split fold-down design with a built-in center armrest. On the dash is an 8.0-inch color gauge cluster and 10.2-inch touchscreen providing access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, Spotify, and The Weather Channel.

As you enjoy the absence of trips to the gas pump, you’ll benefit from wireless cell phone charging, automatic emergency braking, a high-def rear vision camera, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, automatic high beams, and front pedestrian braking. Available driver-assists include a surround-view camera, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise, the hands-free driver assist that takes care of steering for you.

There is a new toggle switch to select park, drive, and reverse that leaves a good amount of space in the center console. The redesigned interior features brand-new display screens, a stylish toggle gear selector, and upped overall quality of the soft-touch materials for a much more premium look. On the flat-bottom steering wheel, there is a regen braking on-demand paddle. Also on the wheel: a crisp black Chevy bowtie logo.

The Bolt EUV can regain an impressive 95 miles of range in 30 minutes with a DC fast charger. The tradition and appeal of the gas-powered engine will linger for quite some time, but as soon as you experience the convenience of knocking out your to-do list on electricity alone, you'll agree the benefits of the future are the solutions to problems of the present!

2022 Chevy Colorado TrailBoss Package Ready to Take on the Rambling Woods and Rivers of the Great Outdoors

A large number of our Mid-Missouri Powerhouse customers are passionate about off-roading, and it's no wonder why. We live in a beautiful area that provides an abundance of varied trails and terrain to test out everything from lift kits to knobby tires! The GM Authority blog just ran a feature about the new Trailboss package made specifically for off-roading enthusiasts and the many ways it will aid the 2022 Chevy Colorado off-road.

This exciting and versatile package gears the Colorado up for trail duty with 17” high gloss black wheels, red recovery hooks, black tailgate lettering, black Colorado emblems, front 1” leveling kit, performance skid plate, and performance mid skid plate. The Trailboss package will be available on the LT and Z71 trim levels with 4-wheel drive only. Its appearance and extra protection will have you packing your gear and ready to travel!

The Chevy Colorado briefly offered the Trail Boss Package on the 2015 and 2016 models, then featuring an automatic locking differential, transfer case shield, front recovery hooks, and round rocker steps. Known for being very nimble and capable, the Chevy Colorado satisfies shoppers who are looking for the power and fun of a traditional pickup without the compromises of a full-sized model. The available 308-horsepower V6 is responsive and quick, and the diesel option offers 369 lb-ft of torque. The Trailering Equipment Package leaves you with a final capability of 7,000 pounds with the V6, and 7,700 with the diesel.

Both the Colorado's 41 cubic feet short box and 50 cubic feet long box are larger than competitors such as the Honda Ridgeline. It features a Wi-Fi hotspot, two intuitive touchscreens, and the highly-acclaimed Chevy Infotainment 3 Premium system. The base truck includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming for two devices, and every other model up the trim line features an 8.0-inch display. The Car and Driver staff were so impressed with the Infotainment inside that they claimed “the only way it could be improved would be by using telepathy!”

Key safety features include available lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and rear parking sensors. Proudly assembled right here in Missouri at the GM Wentzville factory, the 2022 Colorado with the hefty new Trailboss Package will be adequately equipped for nearby destinations such as Kasper OHV Park: they just cleaned up and re-prepped the dirt drag strip for late-summer excitement!

Cents and Sensibility: 5 Reasons Why The 2022 Bolt EUV Tops The Tesla Model 3

When it comes to EPA range estimates, technology features, and presentation for electric vehicles, the Tesla Model 3 is considered the industry standard. However, we here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse think the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV may have it beat. The Edmunds.com staff recently published a blog that made a solid argument with a few good reasons why the Bolt EUV is a better choice than Tesla’s entry-level offering of the 2021 Model 3.

Weight on Wallet Factor: The official price difference between the two cars is approximately $7,000. The base trim for the Tesla gets you faux leather seating, heated seats, larger wheels, and onboard navigation. However, when stacked up against our Bolt EUV, the top Premiere trim level will get you many of these options plus cooled seats, and the EUV still has a lower final price than the base Model 3. If you are willing to wait until fall, there’s a good chance that you will see numerous manufacturer incentives on the Bolt EUV, which will provide even more in the way of savings.

The Star-Studded Super Cruise: Both the Tesla and the Bolt EUV boast features to reduce the strain of driving. Our Bolt EUV features Super Cruise, and the Tesla has its own type of Full Self-Driving Capability. You need the top Premiere trim on the Bolt EUV to gain access to Super Cruise, but obtaining the Model 3’s option costs roughly $7,800 more. Consumer Reports gave the Bolt EUV’s Super Cruise top marks in a 2020 ranking of active driving assistance systems.

Benefits of a Time-Backed Network: There are only about 120 Tesla service centers in the nation. Being backed by Chevy grants you access to services from over 4,200 dealerships across the country, and if you find yourself needing assistance while far away from home, we’ve got you covered!

Space For Stuff: The hatchback design you’ll find in the Bolt EUV offers more cargo-friendly space at 16.3 cubic inches. The Model Y from the Tesla camp provides a bit more, but you are looking at about $18,000 minimum more in spend. The Bolt EUV has come such a long way since the 2019 EV model, with awesome design, great technology, and wider everyday appeal.

Fulfilling Real World Expectations: The Bolt EUV has an EPA-estimated range of 247 miles, while the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus is rated at about 20 miles more. But, when push comes to shove, the real-world finish is sometimes a bit different. When the Model 3 has been pushed to perform, it sometimes comes up short, but the Bolt EUV has proven itself able to exceed its EPA rating by 7%. The Edmunds staff will soon make an official go of it for themselves, and circle back to us with the official findings.
