2021 Silverado HD Special Editions Provide Four New Choices For Sleek Style

Aside from the official announcement of a top-notch bragging right for a best-in-class towing number of 36,000 pounds for the 2021 Chevy Silverado HD, there are now four special editions to add your own personal touch to the lineup of 2500 and 3500 ¾ and 1-ton pickup trucks. As trucks themselves have seen such a steep rise in popularity over the past decade, many buyers right here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are looking for ways to stand out a bit in the crowd and arrive in a rig that announces its presence visually right away. Here's a quick look at the four awesome new editions and the various features they offer:

The Carhartt Special Edition was first introduced at the 2018 SEMA Show and drew inspiration from both Detroit-based namesakes. Carharrt saw its beginnings in 1889 and is known worldwide for its very durable and long-lasting work gear. This special edition starts with the foundation of a Silverado 2500 LTZ Crew Cab paired with the Z71 Off-Road Package, fierce out of the gate with Rancho Shocks, hill-descent control, and skid plates. The exterior is then dipped in the Mosiac Black Metallic and sees gold pinstripe highlights. It boasts 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and unique body-color parts. Inside you'll find trusty badged all-weather floor mats and two-tone leather seats that stand out with headrests flaunting embroidered Carharrt logos.

The Midnight Edition speaks volumes about style and superiority at just one glance: it is available on LT and LTZ Silverado HD models and adds more black on the grille bar, grille insert, skid plate, badging, and wheels. Standard are 18-inch aluminum wheels that can graduate up to 20-inch, and a 2-inch factory suspension as well as the Z71 Off-Road Package. The all-black appearance is contrasted perfectly with red recovery hooks, and other properly darkened-details come in the form of black bumpers, black exhaust tips, and black off-road assist steps.

The Z71 Sport Edition boasts athletic stance by beginning with 3 colors for exterior options: Red Hot, Summit White, and Northsky Blue Metallic. Other key bits of exterior accents see signature black coating the badging, skid plate, mirror caps, hood vent, and wheels. Buyers have the choice of 18-inch wheels with mud-terrain tires or 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, both seeing a cloaked-hue finish in black. Beginning with the Z71 Sport Package, LED headlamps, a body-color Chevrolet Grille bar with chrome grille inserts, body-color rear and front bumpers and a spray-on bedliner are added to the mix. Bold and aggressive, this is the special edition choice for many of our service and mechanic professionals.

The Z71 Chrome Edition is available on LT and LTZ trims, adding a very distinctly flashy touch to the skid plate, grille insert, side steps, mirror trim, and badging of the truck. This package is available in Summit White or Black and rolls on 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with Grazen metallic accents. For anyone wanting to show off their great new truck around town that still has a need for a durable and tough model, this is a great choice for a Special Edition that conveys an ideally polished and well-accented finish.

Chevy Suburban's Star-Studded Journey From Do-It-All Hauler To Hollywood Squares

The longest-running nameplate in automotive history now boasts its own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. After seeing a steady transition from a utility vehicle for fleets into a luxurious family-friendly model loaded with safety and other features, it is now a well-established staple of the large-sized SUV category. The staff at FleetLogging took on the task lately of putting together a few useful infographics that convey just how far it has come during its 85 years of existence. The very first Suburban roared to life in 1935 known as the "Carryall Suburban".

Seating up to 8 and boasting 115 cubic-feet of cargo space, the first engine eagerly generated just 60 horsepower, still ample enough for the buyers of the time it was built for. It resembled the likes of a heavy-duty station wagon more than the current SUV and saw availability with side-hinged rear panel doors or a rear tailgate. Immediately after it was introduced, commercial buyers heavily embraced the Suburban, and the choosiest of private customers were eagerly making repeat purchases. During the 1940s the Chevrolet versions were equipped with a 216 cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine and shared a majority of its parts with the AK Series trucks.

The Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission was available in GMC models beginning in 1953, and also in the 1954 Suburbans. These versions saw the front bench seat split with two seats on the drivers's side and a lone seat on the passenger's side that could slide forward to access the rear two rows. The last series to feature "Canopy Express" models, there was still a lot of true character shining through here, with very recognizable grilles and a friendly while powerful vibe.

During the late 1950s, Suburban engines included both the I-6 and the small block V8, which both eventually evolved in the future to the 283 cubic-inch version. The 4-wheel-drive unit in 1957 added the numbers "3156" for panel-doored models, and "3166" for those sporting tailgates. Styling during the early 1960s boasted a brand-new front independent suspension as well as wrap-around windshields and panel door rear openings. Available transmissions were a 3-speed and 4-speed manual, the automatic Powerglide with GMC models toting the dual-range Hydramatic.

The Seventh Generation of Suburbans were produced from 1973 until 1993, and now had two doors on each side. Appropriate for many families and businesses that were in the market to purchase a serious and powerful hauling machine, they also featured front-and-rear air conditioning, heating under the third seat, and a very useful baggage rack. During 1982 the powerful Detroit Diesel V8 became available and was then the engine of choice until seeing its discontinuation in 1988.

The Suburban was ranked third among the top affordable SUVs and fifth among affordable SUVs with 3-row seats by U.S. News and World Report and also celebrated attaining "Best SUV with a third row seat" after thorough review from Consumer Reports. The twelfth generation Suburban saw its introduction at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit last year boasting a lowered vehicle floor and more room and second-and third-row seats as well as the cargo area. Come down to see us at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse of Linn, Missouri where the 2021 Suburban is bigger and better before, boasting a newly-adopted independent rear suspension and more third-row space!

2021 Chevy Silverado HD “Hones in on the Haul” With Addition of Advanced Trailering Technology

Keeping the customers we love so much here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse updated on everything truck-related is absolutely a full-time job, and we love the fact that there are so many new things to reveal every year! The 2021 Silverado HD just saw a slew of official details released about its great new features, and among the most exciting is that it will now come with new trailering technology features to make its towing ability even greater.

Just for starters are the available 15 views feeding from 8 cameras to help the driver ensure that whatever is being towed is secure and that there are no sudden surprises that come up from the area around the vehicle. The Rear Trailer View also is equipped with guidelines and a Trailer-Angle Indicator that helps when backing up, and Cargo Bed View enhancement features both Cargo Bed Zoom View and Bed Hitch Guidance to assure proper alignment when adding a fifth-wheel trailer. The Rear Side View enhancement view will also provide a split view of the left and right of the trailer that sees its feed dependent on the angle where the trailer is situated.

Another cool feature that assists during any haul is the Trailer Length Indicator, which will activate as soon as the turn signal is used. A red overlay then appears onto the infotainment screen to assist in making it safer to change lanes. There is even a “Jackknife alert” feature, which closely monitors the trailer position and issues a distinct warning when the truck may be prone to skidding in one direction while the trailer goes in another. Preventing the dangerous potential of overturning completely, this is a very useful element when dealing with the demands of a heavy-duty truck's daily workload.

These enhancements all require either 18-inch or 20-inch wheels and are sure to make life easier for anyone dealing with precious cargo in any shape or form. The LT, LTZ, and High Country trim all have seen Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto added this year, giving you access to all of the media your heart desires. Many truck owners that are concerned with securing and monitoring their trailer are also no strangers to plowing: the Alaskan Snow Plow Package now comes with a different set of wheels.

Last year's model came equipped with 18-inch, 6-spoke machined aluminum wheels with Silver-painted accents as standard, and this year those wheels are exchanged for new 18-inch High Gloss Black aluminum. Completing things properly is the new Jet Black / Carhartt Brown interior color combination available for the Carhartt Special Edition, the Silverado's utmost salute to the family-owned company creating the best in durable work clothing since 1889!

2021 Chevy Equinox Mid-Cycle Refresh Photo Gallery Previews Goods Prior to Exciting Live Debut

Just one day before its official unveiling during the Auto China 2020 Motor Show, all of us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse were poised and ready to see what the newest model of the Equinox would look like. In a photo gallery we found on the AutoEvolution blog, a striking model depicted in its pre-production stages was showcased. Looking striking and aggressive in the photos the Equinox equipped with the RS trim boasted black logos, a black grille, and a red RS badge.

The base engine offered is the 1.5-liter turbo mated to a six-speed DSS gearbox, with the option of stepping up to a 2.0-liter turbo paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. We know that streaming movies and playing video games are ideal ways to keep your passengers entertained during the journey, and every trim level of next year's Equinox is allocated 100 Gigs of OnStar data service annually. With an EPA rating of 34 miles per gallon, this is also an ideal choice for anyone commuting a short distance from the city or seeing several back-and-forth trips every day.

Other traits deeming this as an excellent choice for any budget-minded buyer in the market are its very roomy cabin, spry driving personality, and stylish accents inside and out. The mid-range LT model is where the addition of several worthwhile features come into play: you graduate to an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, SiriusXM satellite radio, tinted rear windows, body-colored exterior mirror housings, and extra chrome trim. It's also the least expensive model that comes powered by the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, well-suited and engineered for the Equinox's weight.

A 7.0-inch touchscreen with the option of a larger 8.0-inch offers the features of Chevy's MyLink infotainment interface on top of the Equinox's dash, and has high ratings from Car and Driver for its quick response and ease of use. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard, as well as Bluetooth phone and audio streaming. Due to the quality of its standard onboard Wi-Fi, this is one of the most well-connected crossovers in its class. The Equinox also snagged five-star honors from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, providing automated emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlamps, and lane-keeping assist.

Staying safe during the drive is priority #1 among new car buyers, and there are so many ingenious ways now that provide the ultimate helping hand. The 2021 Equinox includes key safety features such as standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, Standard lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and available adaptive cruise control. Don't skip the opportunity to thoroughly check out the Equinox Premier: it adds a high black gloss finish on the console, a new 19” machine faced wheel, gloss black grille with chrome inserts, and the very cool logo projection liftgate.
