Gm Authority Video Details 2019 Silverado Flow-FX Cat-Back Exhaust's Performance

The first quarter of the year always provides so much excitement around the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse: after many of the favored new arrivals are on site, the many different kinds of upgrade and aftermarket parts begin to pop up. Brand-new trucks like the Silverado are the absolute hottest thing going right now in the auto market, and the GM Authority blog produced a video last week showing off the fine points of the new Flow-FX cat-back exhaust system, which is fitted to the 2019 Silverado 1500, and 2019 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab and Double Cab sporting the 5.3-liter engine.

The company claims that the bolt-on exhaust system is manufactured with the use of durable 4019 stainless steel throughout, and also features a 3-inch inlet pipe that leads to a single inlet/dual outlet muffler. This is one of the design elements that allows for its deep, raucous sound, and potential for maximum performance. Coated in black for a solidly aggressive stance, the 4.5-inch tips are patiently waiting to boisterously beef up the exhaust game on your new purchase! With two 2.5-inch tailpipes custom routed to give clearance ability for the spare tire and tow hitch, one of the many great qualities of this system is that it very specifically holds to the refined appearance of the factory dual exhaust.

The kit utilizes factory exhaust mounting points and comes with instructions and all of the hardware needed to complete an at home installation. If you are on the hunt for a system that will make your 5.3-liter Silverado or Sierra truly sound mean, this is one add-on that should definitely be at the top of your list. Check out the video here and listen to the sounds of this sweet new exhaust ramification, as the company provides sound clips taken from both inside the cabin and out. The video also provides an excellent close-up look at the system, which brandishes the straight-through performance muffler on the right, as the journey for the exhaust moves left and ultimately through the DEM exhaust bezels for exit.

Poised on a country road in a very natural setting for a Silverado, a mountain range Is visible in the distance as the truck gets ready for a medium-speed launch alongside a farming irrigation system. As you can see on their website here, the folks at Flowmaster offer up 12 various designs of chambered mufflers, 3 styles of “laminar-flow” mufflers, and a new line of Flow-FX “straight-through” performance mufflers, along with 5 sound categories of exhaust, allowing the customer the ability to tailor the sound of the vehicle with dire precision. Trusted since 1983, they have led the industry in offering only the very highest tier of quality good you can purchase for your car or truck!

Trucks.com Highlights Quick Facts to Know about the 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD

This year's Silverado has definitely been a hot topic here around the lot and offices of the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse! The 2019 3500 HD is built on the GM's full-size K2 platform, which is still shared with the GMC Sierra HD. Available in crew-cab configuration with both long and standard beds, the knowledgeable folks on duty at Trucks.com featured a blog this past week presenting the “quick facts” regarding the truck and its awesome capabilities. It is available in 8 trims: Work Truck, LT, LTZ, and High Country, all with the option of either single or dual rear wheel variants.

The top-of-the-line High Country trim is really where the element of outright luxury and prime allure in a heavy-duty vehicle shines through: you snag 20-inch chromed-aluminum wheels, heated and vented custom leather-appointed front seats, a 6-inch chrome assist step, and a premium Bose audio system. Warranties are one trait that can be the most important deciding factor in a purchase, and all 2019 Silverado HD trucks are covered by a 3 year/36,000 miles limited bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5/year 50,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. The standard wheels on the 2019 Silverado 3500 HD are 18-inch painted steel, with 17-inch polished forged-aluminum wheels available on higher-trim models.

The dimensions of the 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD vary depending on what options you choose. If you go with the crew cab featuring the long box, it has a 167.7-inch wheelbase, 151.1-inch length from front bumper to back of cab and a 95.98-inch width at rear fenders. Opting for the crew cab with standard box offers 153.7-inch wheelbase, 151.1-inch length from front bumper to back of cab, and a 95.98-inch width where the rear fenders are. The 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD uses a six-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode and Auto Grade Braking to reduce the amount of conventional braking in demand while performing a tow, or driving downhill.

Anyone that has a harder-than-average day ahead of them will appreciate the towing ability of 23,100 pounds that the Silverado 3500 HD provides: this requires the Crew Cab two-wheel-drive dual rear-wheel version, with use of the fifth-wheel hitch and Duramax 6.6-Liter Turbo-Diesel V8. Two airbags come as standard, and you have the option of adding single-stage front and seat-mounted side-impact airbags for the front seats and head-curtain airbags for the front as well as rear. The standard infotainment system in the LT trim puts to use an 8-inch color touchscreen, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No matter which trim you select, you will still enjoy remote keyless entry, steering wheel audio controls, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

“Muscular, functional, and aerodynamic” were the qualities that the Autoblog.com review staff liked most about the Silverado, and we can't say that we would argue: we know why scores of customers prefer this well-made model over what Ford and Dodge have to offer. We have been happy about the strides we have made over the years to keep loyal return buyers happy: The Silverado is one of those fine pieces of craftsmanship that is not just average, but amazing and is always ready for anything that is thrown at it.

2020 Silverado HD's Engine, Transmission, and Raw Power Outlined by GM Pressroom

Many robust and constantly ready-for-work Powerhouse customers have great reason to be excited about the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The current workhorse that is available offers so much, and has evolved over the years into what we love to tout as the most durable and trusty example of truck in existence. If this doesn't happen to be the year that you and your family or business are ready to make a new purchase, you may have your mind set on the 2020 that is coming soon. The GM Pressroom doled out the stats and all-around good news about the lineup, which will embody the strongest, most capable Silverado HD ever.

Max towing capability jumps by 52 percent, up to hefty 35,500 pounds. Chief engineer Jaclyn McQuaid claimed that “she set out to make the best HD trucks on the market, bar none,” and was excited about the class-leading towing technologies like 15 available camera views that make trailering easier, helping duties such as pulling a large cargo trailer or camper ready to take on the lake for the weekend. Built at the Flint assembly plant in Michigan, the 2020 Silverado HD is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor with a 5.2-inches larger wheelbase on Crew Cab models.

The standard engine is a new 6.6L V-8 gas using direct injection, making 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. That reflects an 11 percent increase in horsepower, and a 22 percent increase in peak torque, which ultimately provides the ability to brandish 18 percent more towing capability. There is also the legendary Duramax 6.6-L Turbo-Diesel V-8 engine, making 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque, and paired perfectly with an all-new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Every single component between the transmission and the wheels have been upgraded, paving the way for a whopping 35,000 pound towing capability on Regular Cab, two-wheel drive, DRW, diesel models.

The Autotrac active two-speed transfer case on 4 x 4 models has the ability to electronically control “4 auto” mode, which allows the truck to shift between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive as road conditions are constantly changing. One of the absolute coolest and futuristic additives we have seen on trucks is present on the 2020 Silverado HD: the in-vehicle trailering system features 15 available camera views, and among them is a feature that shows a transparent view of the trailer itself. There are also an easy-access engine block heater outlet, easy-to-fill diesel exhaust fluid tank with opening inside the fuel door, a much more integrated snow plow prep package, and the Bed Step feature: this makes it easier to reach and load items in the cargo box, which is designed to hold up to 500 pounds.

The foundation for the new truck is an enhanced version of the Silverado HD's sturdy, proven ladder-frame design, sporting boxed rails that allow for more strength. We are also proud that these new models incoming next year have yet another first within the industry: It is the only lineup in existence offering a VIN-specific Trailering Information Label, that clearly lists the trucks' vital metrics such as curb weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combined weight rating, max payload, max tongue weight, gross axle weight rating, and gooseneck ratings.

Herald Extra.com Ranks 2019 Chevy Traverse as “The Best For a Growing Family”

Writer Craig Conover from the Herald Extra set out on a trip to see how the change from being what he called a “more egg-shaped vehicle to a larger truck-like SUV” would affect the ride as well as the interior regarding the Traverse, as it now is one of the most spacious within its class. All of us here at the Powerhouse recognize that the competition is definitely fierce in this category, which consists of contenders like the Volkswagen Atlas and Subaru Ascent, as well as longtime defenders like the Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Explorer.

Taking specific notice to the fact that sales for us here at Chevy have increased each year for the past five, it is now evident that the ultimate recipe for a unique family-toting vehicle is complete. Craig has watched his family grow quite a bit over the last few years, and his oldest son was currently looking for a larger SUV due to this growth. Cargo space is one area where the Traverse is clearly king, sporting 23 feet of space behind the third-row seat, 58 with the third row down and a grand total of 98 cubes with both rows down.

The perfect test for the new car in this sense was to pick up the kids and grand kids and take an afternoon drive before dinner. They put the car seats in the second row, carrying out a plan to see how two full-grown adults would fit, as one of them measured up to 6 feet, 3 inches tall. With 33.4 inches of leg room in the rear seats, they all agreed quickly that they felt it was more than any of the other third-row SUVS they had driven. With all of this space at their disposal, they easily had room for a stroller and the other odds and ends haplessly lugged around with a 4-year old and baby in tow. The troupe felt that the second-row captain's chair with the ability to slide forward and tip was ideal for allowing the rear occupants easy access and easily check on the kids during the ride.

The engine providing power for the drive around a mountainous area near Park City was the 3.6-liter V-6, which is the only one the vehicle sports after last year's redesign. It produces 310 horsepower, and 266 lb-ft of torque, while being mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The leather interior, heated front seats, and a large 8-inch screen with navigation and 4G LTE Wi-Fi on board allowed all passengers to use devices for the entire afternoon, and all-wheel-drive was a great help during a bout of precipitation.

Even though they did not get the chance to test the Traverse in all-out snow, the traction provided was sufficient, and gave them a consistent sense of security along with agility. We hope any of you with a growing business or family will test drive this spacious and capable new offering: The Traverse is the 2019 model that U.S. News claimed provides “the most cushioned of rides, and as user-friendly as it gets!”
