2019 Chevy Tahoe billed as “Outshining its Competitors” by Cnet.com

As fall has fully made its annual descent upon us here at the Powerhouse, we are as excited as we are every year about the abundance of football on TV, different Halloween events for kids and adults, and the solid news about all of the awesome features on the next year's car models. The Tahoe is the best-selling full-size sport utility right now in the U.S., and has held onto that title since its debut in 1995. To think about this one way, it is fantastic for us to realize that almost half of the full-size SUVs sold in America right now are of the illustrious and well-built Chevy breed!

There are two engine options available with the new Tahoe: Base models feature a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower, and 383 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful choice is a 6.2-liter V8, which creates 420 horsepower, and 460 lb-ft of torque. These additives are what truly make the Tahoe king of its class, and you can opt to pair either the six-speed automatic, or 10-speed automatic with either rear or four-wheel drive. With seating for up to nine occupants, this is the vehicle that Roadshow via Cnet.com characterized by “Outshining its competitors,” with 94.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume to boot.

If you feel the need to haul items that are larger than what you can fit inside an SUV, the Tahoe's maximum towing capacity is 8,400 pounds. Technology is another area in which the Tahoe really laps its competitors, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, along with an 8-inch touchscreen for the media goodies we all love to consume during the ride! In addition, the Tahoe also comes standard with a six-speaker sound system, HD, satellite radio, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspost that can support up to seven devices at once.

The upgrades you can use to really make the Tahoe your own are plentiful: ask us here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse how additives like Brembo front brakes, adaptive cruise control, and collision-mitigation braking can assure that every ride is up to premium par. The top-level Premier trim comes equipped with 20-inch wheels, fog lights, magnetic ride control, front parking sensors, HID headlights, keyless access with push-button start, and an audiophile's dream of a 10-speaker Bose Surround-sound audio system.

You'll also be blown away by the wireless smartphone charging ability, heated steering wheel, and telescoping steering column! We feel that upping the ante this intensely on a Tahoe is better than the luxurious touches you get to enjoy on the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class SUV: this is one able-bodied hauler for the entire family, and perfect pitch-delivering vehicle for any trade show worker or marketer hitting the open road!

2019 Chevy Silverado Gains Huge Power Boost, Heightened Efficiency with 2.7-L Turbo

Fuel economy, performance, and efficiency are some qualities of a great truck that scores of folks who are on the lookout for a new one deem essential. To cross the finish line with a fervor and achieve both better performance and overall efficiency, engineers used their expert experience to combine mixed materials, and advanced manufacturing to make improvements to the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The base curb weight of the 2019 Chevy Silverado is 380 lbs less than the current Silverado with the 4.3 V6, even with more interior room and space for cargo.

The new Silverado 2.7-Liter Turbo delivers impressive performance and fuel efficiency, while being a blast to drive every day, quick from the start, and possessing the ability to tow with abundant strength under stress. Sporting up to 23 mpg on the highway, it offers plenty in the efficiency department, while still being capable to tackle hefty weekend to-do lists, and trips to great rec areas with your motorized toy assortment. Now standard on LT and RST trims, the 2.7-L engine offers 14 percent more torque, and 13 percent better city fuel economy, and it is more than a full second faster 0-60 mph than the 4.3L V-6 it now replaces.

The new 2.7-L Turbo engine offers up an SAE-certified 310 hp, as well as 348 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 acceleration time is 6.8 seconds, and the max towing capacity is 7,200 lbs. The technology that the new engine delivers is composed of many awesome elements that make it the truck that is so great to drive daily: a double overhead cam valvetrain that enables high-and low-lift valve profiles, continuously variable valve timing, and active fuel management are just the beginning. There is also a dual-volute turbocharger housing on board for improved throttle response, low-speed torque, and virtually no turbo lag.

We are proud to show off the coming-soon truck that puts to use Chevy's first application of Active Thermal Management, which uses targeted engine heating and cooling across the entire powertrain system to create optimal conditions for practical fuel economy, and hastily recover any wasted exhaust heat for faster transmission and engine warmup. Stop/start technology that goes to work to automatically stop the engine in stop-and-go-traffic, a revolutionary aid in conservation as well as overall Eco-friendly appeal.

The engine itself was subjected to many months of testing, to provide a simulation of what a lifetime of very hot and cold cycles would be like. More than 475,000 validation tests and 1 million miles of drive testing were chalked up to deliver the performance and reliability that Mid-Missouri Truck Customers demand, and setting your sights on the new Silverado early is one guaranteed way to give yourself a jumpstart on the various demands of a coming new year!

Motor Trend Features a Close-up Look at the 2019 Silverado 4-Cylinder Model

Here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse, we recognize that one of the most common reasons to own a truck is raw power. Isn't the ability to tow, haul, and possess a rugged and commanding presence high on one's truck ownership priority list? One way that next year's Chevy Silverado stands completely apart from its competitors is by offering a 4-cylinder option. Many of you out there may not think that this would cut it in a very demanding landscape for trucks, but in the name of fuel efficiency, it can still provide means for a fulfilling and Eco-friendly purchase.

According to EPA ratings, rear-drive Silverado models with the 2.7-liter turbo four-engine have the ability to hit 20/23 mpg city/highway. The city rating makes it able to run neck-and-neck with the Ford F-150s 3.3-liter V-6, and the Ram 1500's base 3.6-liter V-6 mild hybrid. Horsepower and torque are in the ample-and-available status at 310 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque, as opposed to the 290 hp and 265 lb-ft for the Ford and 305 hp and 269 lb-ft for the Ram. The turbo-four will come standard on Silverado LT and RST trims, and achieves more torque than the 4.3-liter V-6.

Basking in the aftermath of a complete redesign, the Silverado now rides on a new platform, added the available 10-speed automatic transmission, and shed weight to boot. The four-cylinder model is 380 pounds lighter than the previous model, and the good folks at the Cnet.com claimed that “buyers should be overly happy with the powertrain's 2,280-pound payload rating, which is up to 600 pounds more than similarly-equipped trucks from crosstown rivals.”

The 2.7-liter features a twin-scroll turbo for improved low-end responsiveness, as well as cylinder deactivation, and stop-start tech, and its lighter weight should be very instrumental in the continuous quest to improve handling. GM has also promised that a new 3.0-liter Duramax diesel is on the way for early 2019, which is slated to be paired with a new 10-speed automatic as well as stop-start system.

Opting for the diesel should provide much more in the muscle department, and you'll notice immediately how active thermal management will recover exhaust heat to allow for quicker engine and transmission warmup. Featuring 8 trim levels and six engine and transmission combinations, the 2019 Silverado will appeal to many varieties of those who love trucks: don't think for a minute that less cylinders means less fun, and come to the Powerhouse to test drive any type of truck ASAP!

Car and Driver Provides Comprehensive Guide to Every 2019 Silverado 1500 Trim Level

The Chevy Silverado 1500 is all new for 2019, and new features, as well as technology, have rendered it larger, lighter, more powerful, and fuel efficient. There are 3 body styles to choose from, six available powertrains, and 8 trim levels, and the well-versed and able folks at Car and Driver put together a guide of every style and feature, making it easier to check out the various options at hand. More and more consumers are drifting toward truck ownership, as they realize that trucks are not just for the heavy haulers and riggers out there, and they are just as useful in urban circles.

The Silverado Work Truck is on the most basic end of the scale, and is the only model available with single-cab configuration. Steel wheels, black bumpers, an offset bow-tie emblem, halogen headlights, and “CHEVROLET” stamped into the center bar of the grille are all distinct traits. This base model also flaunts a 7.0-inch touchscreen as standard and comes available with vinyl or cloth seats.

The Silverado Custom takes the work truck's funky front-end design, and paints it all body color. The body-color theme is applied to the rear bumper, as well as the rest of the exterior trim. If you choose to take the custom route, you also get painted 20-inch aluminum wheels, and LED taillights.

The Silverado Custom Trail Boss offers up a very icy and awesome gloss-black finish, as well as a two-inch suspension lift, and model-specific styling cues including red tow hooks, and 18-inch wheels. With the Trail Boss, you'll also get the Z71 Off-Road package as standard, yielding you Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, Rancho shocks, skid plates, and a locking rear differential.

The Silverado LT is smack dab in the middle of the lineup, and is the most traditional-looking of the 2019 Silverados, with a split-bar chrome, and classic yellow bow tie situated in the center. LED headlights are standard, an 8.0-inch touchscreen is on board for entertainment and navigation options, and leather seating is an available choice.

The Silverado RST is for those who may seem to think that the Silverado's futuristic design is a bit forward, and acquires an all-body-color trim for an overall sportier look. You also get full-LED lighting, including fog lights, and the RST is available with wheels up to 22 inches in size. The RST and LT are the only two Silverado models that can be had with the all-new 310-hp turbocharged inline-four, which is now offered as standard equipment.

The Silverado LTZ boasts the addition of more chrome slats to the grille, and the lower bumper, door handles, window trim, mirrors, and wheels. On the interior, leather upholstery is now standard, and the 5.3-liter V-8. Other options are the 6.2 liter V-8, and the turbo-diesel straight six.

The Silverado High Country is the most high-end Silverado, characterized by chrome lower portions on the front bumpers, with bronze accents in the grille, chrome side steps, and dual exhaust tips to boot. All observers will quickly understand that you are in the highest rank of “Silverado stardom” there is, while luxury abounds hand-in-hand with functionality and tremendous tow ability within this model spec!

2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison Unveiled During Lone Star State Fair

All of our truck-obsessed customers here at the Mid-Missouri Powerhouse are going to love the intensity of the next level that the Colorado ZR2 will now be taken to! Overland travel and off-roading are going to be not only a snap, but wildly fun and heart-pumping activities from behind the wheel. GM has now partnered with American Expedition Vehicles to create the Bison, which is literally the stuff dreams are made of as far as anyone who has a penchant for quickly jumping off-road knows. The base ZR2 will receive customized steel bumpers front and rear, and the front bumper is standing by and ready to feature a winch.

The rear bumper has tube sections and additional tie-down points, and up front there is a new grille that spells out “Chevrolet.” The side ZR2 rock rails still remain, as do the always-able and trusty 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. You can also choose to snag up the AEV snorkel, that ties together the whole truck with somewhat of a rugged look. The Bison is available with either a 3.6-Liter V6 gas engine with an 8-speed, or a 2.8-Liter Duramax turbo-diesel with a 6-speed. The axles, DSSV Multimatic spool-valve shocks, and suspension that drivers are currently familiar with will remain the same, all available and constantly working together to assure that the roughest of roads traveled will not feel that way while poised in the driver's seat.

During the 2018 State Fair of Texas, an up close and personal look of the newly-equipped ZR2 Bison was offered to attendees. Positioned slightly to the side on a set that emulated raging rivers and crawl-able rocks, the Cherry Red model was striking and sinister. While watching the video feature, all of us here reflected that the steel bumpers were one of the coolest features, and the snorkel actually looks awesome! Here you really get a good view of how the five steel skid-plates provide the ultimate in protection: the underside of a truck can tend to see the most outright abuse when headed off-road.

You can also clearly see how the rock sliders on the bottom are capable of doing a great job protecting the body, and are as durable as anything in existence. The rear bumpers are also derived straight from the higher end of anything under the sun to protect a truck, and at a glance, you see how much impact it could withstand. The model is slated to go on sale during January of 2019, and once you order right here at the Powerhouse, the extra goodies are factory installed with care.

The good people of Texas will no doubt appreciate a truck that can dig its heels in and tackle so much wild expanse, as will anyone right here in Missouri or nationwide. The work that AEV has completed in the past is truly monumental: they provide overhauls that allow vehicles to truly go where they never have before. We know that many of you in our area will be excited about this Colorado release: being ultra-equipped for wandering in the wild is the name of the game when it comes to this brash and brave beast!
