Chevy Bolt EV Battery Production Back on Track With Streamlined Manufacturing Process, Diagnostic Software

GM confirmed there is a plan to make sure that customers can charge their Chevy Bolt EV and EUV for their next trip with confidence. Vital software and hardware remedies are now a reality as battery module production has resumed at full speed in Holland and Hazel Park, Michigan.

Battery modules will begin to ship to dealers like us in just a couple weeks. A notification process is in place to inform all affected customers the moment their replacement modules become available. Each customer will also receive an extended battery 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty. Two months after their release, a brand-new advanced diagnostic software package that can increase available battery charging parameters will be launched to further boost accessibility and longevity.

This software will closely monitor battery performance and report any damage that requires a quick replacement. Car and Driver claimed the “almost instant acceleration,” competitive driving range, and spacious cabin in the 2021 Bolt EV would assure anyone taking the all-electric route that they had made the right choice. The addition of the Premier trim provides ambient interior lighting, leather seats, heated rear seats, and more. The Driver Confidence package hits all the right spots on the safe side with rear-cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors.

The digital instrument cluster display and the central touchscreen feel appropriately modern, and generous front and rear passenger space make the Bolt comfortable and spacious for five. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are standard, and several EV-specific menus allow for you to quickly check out valuable information such as your remaining range, and exactly how much battery energy is being used.

Key safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Edmunds team purchased and extensively tested a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV for three years, tallying 30,000 miles in the process. They loved its practicality as an efficient car for commuting, its outstanding range, and the fact that overall performance never dwindled over the years.

2023 Chevy Silverado HD Next to be Crowned King of Its Class

The sleek sedans, sporty crossover SUVs, and powerful trucks from Chevrolet keep getting better with each release. The same is true for the Silverado and the updates coming for the 2023 HD model.

The current model’s 6.6-Liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 is expected to make a return in the updated model, with a boosted horsepower of 505 and a torque capability of 1,085 lb-ft. The 6.6-liter produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque in the 2022 Silverado HD.

The 2023 Silverado HD will have an updated exterior design that will set it in a class by itself. There are plans for a larger diameter ring gear and differential, with class-leading horsepower and torque in mind. The incoming Silverado models are going to offer much to love: a luxurious interior, strong towing ability, and the badge of America’s hardest-working brand.

Electric-powered models are expected to arrive for the 2023 model year, marking a giant step forward for trucks that have been the backbone of hard-working Americans for years. For now, the original gas-powered version of this awesome truck comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Travel Link, Onstar with 4G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi, a Bose premium audio system featuring seven speakers, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a multi-angle camera system.

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Brings Engine Options, Ground Clearance, Off-Road Ability and More

The Chevy Colorado has been fully revamped for the 2021 model year, and the Hotcars.com staff was recently raving about what an underrated gem it is. Still an awesome daily driver with strong off-road capability, it has everything any truck lover would need!

The 3.6-liter gas V6 and turbo-diesel 2.8-liter Duramax are both available for the ZR2, cranking out 308 and 181 horsepower respectively. Both options are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the ZR2 also has a 2-inch higher lift kit.

The ZR2 boasts an additional 3.5 inches of width over the regular Colorado. 17-inch wheels are also included as standard to complement the truck’s aggressive stance and adventure-ready vibe. The ZR2 is incredibly versatile, as it can easily go from rock crawling to narrow trails to highway driving, and even through the desert. This truck also now boasts a brand-new front fascia, grille, and tailgate, and an available 8-inch touchscreen for Chevy’s user-friendly infotainment system.

Chevy’s patented Multimatic DSSV damper tech is always working to assure your rides are comfortable and replaces the shims of a conventional damper with a spool valve, which results in a more consistent damper. These dampers are designed for the driver to be able to take the vehicle off-road while still having full confidence that the suspension will hold up perfectly.

If the standard ZR2 isn’t the look for you, you can opt for the Dusk, Midnight, or Bison packages, the last of which is the most attractive package for off-roading outdoorsmen. AEV Outfitters has outfitted the Bison with fog lamps, skid plates, premium winch, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

2022 Chevy Traverse Earns “Superior” Rating as a Top Safety Pick

Last week, it was officially announced that the 2022 Chevy Traverse once again earned a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS, solidifying its position as a trusted and durable crossover. An improved set of LED headlights on the top Premier and High Country trims fared well for the Traverse’s standing this year, and the vehicle earned “Good” ratings in all six crash tests from the IIHS.

After testing its available automatic emergency braking systems, the IIHS put the Traverse in the “Superior” category. It boasts a more-than-capable V6 engine, decent gas mileage, and a customized ride that provides the best in comfort even over rough roads. Few SUVs in any class can claim as much cargo space, and the Traverse can comfortably provide space for adults in each row.

If you’re on the hunt for an SUV that is perfect for cruising around with the family on long and short trips alike, then the Traverse is one of the best options out there. The US News staff claimed that the current year’s Traverse easily beats out the Toyota Highlander when it comes to livelier powertrain, ample cargo space, and third-row seating. You’ll enjoy standard technology such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which you can only find in higher-trim levels of the Pilot.

23 cubic feet of room behind the third row and 57.8 feet with the third-row seats folded will be great for storage, and with both the second and third rows folded, you’ll be working with 98.2 cubic feet. The infotainment 3 interface is well-organized, making navigating through menus a snap, and it is incredibly easy to sync with your smartphone. A 7-inch touchscreen comes standard along with six USB ports, Bluetooth, and a WI-Fi hotspot. There are available upgrades to the rear entertainment with a DVD player, 8-inch touchscreen, and 10-speaker Bose system along with satellite radio.

Getting out to the lake sounds more and more appealing during the final days of summer, and when the spontaneous pumpkin patch run with the family comes this fall, you’re going to find plenty of fun uses for the Traverse’s 5,000-pound towing capacity! Standard advanced safety features on the Traverse include rear-seat reminder, buckle-up reminder, rearview camera, and Teen Driver mode. The High Country trim is a great buy for those looking for upper-end features and luxury: it is loaded with just about every tech feature you can get in a Traverse, including adaptive cruise control, power-folding third-row seats, as well as additional trailering equipment.

2022 Chevy Silverado Offers Climb-Up With Off-Road High-Road Assistance Steps

Missouri residents seem to love trucks more than any other type of vehicle, and for good reason! The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is going to be an awesome vehicle, and the blogging staff at GM Authority cranked out a feature last week about a new trait the coming-soon Silverado will add to its toolbelt.

The brand-new Off-Road High Clearance Assist Steps are now going to be available on both the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2022 Silverado HD, and will be ready to order on the Work Truck, Custom Trail Boss, RST and LT Trail Boss trim levels. These feature inlaid Chevrolet branding on the section closest to the front quarter panel and offer you the ultimate assistance for a step up when it arrives late in the 2022 model year.

There is nothing quite like the sight of a line getting ready to roll, and production will begin full steam for the new Silverado model at the GM Fort Wayne, IN plant later this month. Order books are now open nationwide, allowing you to carefully pick and customize the truck that is perfect for you. Earlier this month, GM Authority reported the new LTZ model was spotted during drive testing with its wide range of changes and updates, with the front fascia covered in heavy camouflage to hide the upcoming model’s revised styling elements.

The wheels appeared to be sporting an all-new design with five open spokes and other chrome accents that blend perfectly with the polished door handles and window trim. On top of brand-new styling and wheel designs, the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 will feature an overhauled cabin space with a new dash, center console, center stack, infotainment screen, and a new digital gauge cluster. Sporting a long cabin that provides ample rear legroom, numerous bed tie-down points, and a spacious bed capacity, the current Silverado receives a round of updates for value and appearance that assure it will outrank the competition!

For everyone out there looking for a cost-effective truck that still provides everything you need in a proper rig, check out the LT Trim. It boasts 17” wheels, the much-loved Chevy Infotainment 3 system with 8” diagonal color touchscreen, the revolutionary StabiliTrak stability control system with Proactive Roll Avoidance, electronic trailer sway control, and hill start assist!
